35|19|Not equal are the blind and the seeing man,
35|20|the shadows and the light,
35|21|the shade and the torrid heat;
35|22|not equal are the living and the dead. God makes to hear whomsoever He will; thou canst not make those in their tombs to hear –
208. The Simile of Water And Foam
13|17|He sends down out of heaven water, and the wadis flow each in its measure, and the torrent carries a swelling scum; and out of that over which they kindle fire, being desirous of ornament or ware, out of that rises a scum the like of it. So God strikes both the true and the false. As for the scum, it vanishes as jetsam, and what profits men abides in the earth. Even so God strikes His similitudes.
209. Confound Not The Real With Illusory
2|42|And do not confound the truth with vanity, and do not conceal the truth wittingly.
210. Desire Cannot Determine The Faith of Truth
23|71|Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned.
211. Truth Annihilates Falsehood
21|18|Nay, but We hurl the truth against falsehood and it prevails over it, and behold, falsehood vanishes away. Then woe to you for that you describe!
XVIII.PURIFICATION OF SPEECH
43. The Truthful
212. Does What He Says
61|2|O you who believe, wherefore do you say what you do not?
61|3|Very hateful is it to God, that you say what you do not.
213.Preach Not What You Practise Not
2|44|Will you bid others to piety, and forget yourselves while you recite the Book? Do you not understand?
214. Breaks Her Yarn Into Pieces
16|91|Fulfil God's covenant, when you make covenant, and break not the oaths after they have been confirmed, and you have made God your surety; surely God knows the things you do.
16|92|And be not as a woman who breaks her thread, after it is firmly spun, into fibres, by taking your oaths as mere mutual deceit, one nation being more numerous than another nation. God only tries you thereby; and certainly He will make clear to you upon the Day of Resurrection that whereon you were at variance.
39|33|And he who has come with the very truth and confirms it, those they are the godfearing.
39|34|They shall have whatsoever they will with their Lord; that is the recompense of the good-doers,
216. The Simile Of Good And Evil Words
14|24|Hast thou not seen how God has struck a similitude? A good word is as a good tree -- its roots are firm, and its branches are in heaven;
14|25|it gives its produce every season by the leave of its Lord. So God strikes similitudes for men; haply they will remember.
14|26|And the likeness of a corrupt word is as a corrupt tree -- uprooted from the earth, having no stablishment.
217. Speak What Is Best
17|53|And say to My servants, that they say words that are kindlier. For surely Satan provokes strife between them, and Satan is ever a manifest foe to man.
218. The Noble Speech
41|33|And who speaks fairer than he who calls unto God and does righteousness and says, 'Surely I am of them that surrender'?
219. Speak Straight to The Point
33|70|O believers, fear God, and speak words hitting the mark,
220. Do Not Utter Evil
4|148|God likes not the shouting of evil words unless a man has been wronged; God is All-hearing, All-knowing.
4|149|If you do good openly or in secret or pardon an evil, surely God is All-pardoning, All-powerful.
221. Do not Slander
49|11|O believers, let not any people scoff at another people who may be better than they; neither let women scoff at women who may be better than themselves. And find not fault with one another, neither revile one another by nicknames. An evil name is ungodliness after belief. And whoso repents not, those -- they are the evildoers.
49|12|O believers, eschew much suspicion; some suspicion is a sin. And do not spy, neither backbite one another; would any of you like to eat the flesh of his brother dead? You would abominate it. And fear you God; assuredly God turns, and He is All-compassionate.
222. Avoid Vain Discourse
6|68|When thou seest those who plunge into Our signs, turn away from them until they plunge into some other talk; or if Satan should make thee forget, do not sit, after the reminding, with the people of the evildoers.
223. Avoide Vanity
28|55|When they hear idle talk, they turn away from it and say, 'We have our deeds, and you your deeds. Peace be upon your We desire not the ignorant.'
224.Do Not Lend Your Ears to Those Who Undermine Faith
4|140|He has sent down upon you in the Book: 'When you hear God's signs being disbelieved and made mock of, do not sit with them until they plunge into some other talk, or else you will surely be like to them.' God will gather the hypocrites and the unbelievers all in Gehenna.
225. The Woeful Plight of The Slanderer
104|1|Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer,
104|2|who has gathered riches and counted them over
104|3|thinking his riches have made him immortal!
104|4|No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher;
104|5|and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher;
104|6|The Fire of God kindled
104|7|roaring over the hearts
104|8|covered down upon them,
104|9|in columns outstretched.
226.To Save One Life Is to Save The Life of All Mankind
5|35|O believers, fear God, and seek the means to come to Him, and struggle in His way; haply you will prosper.
227. Creat Not Disorder And Confusion
7|55|Call on your Lord, humbly and secretly; He loves not transgressors.
7|56|Do not corruption in the land, after it has been set, right; and call on Him fearfully, eagerly -- surely the mercy of God is nigh to the good-doers;
228. Do Not Be Unjust Even to Those Hate You
5|9|God has promised those that believe, and do deeds of righteousness; they shall have; forgiveness and a mighty wage.
229. Be Ever Prepared to Make Friends
8|61|And if they incline to peace, do thou incline to it; and put thy trust in God; He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.
8|62|And if they desire to trick thee, God is sufficient for thee; He has confirmed thee with His help, and with the believers,
8|63|and brought their hearts together. Hadst thou expended all that is in the earth, thou couldst not have brought their hearts together; but God brought their hearts together; surely He is All-mighty, All-wise.
47. Mercy Better Than Justice
230. Forbearance:The Best Course
16|126|And if you chastise, chastise even as you have been chastised; and yet assuredly if you are patient, better it is for those patient.
16|127|And be patient; yet is thy patience only with the help of God. And do not sorrow for them, nor be thou straitened for what they devise.
16|128|Surely God is with those who are godfearing, and those who are good-doers.
231. Forgiveness Is The Highest Wisdom
42|39|and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves --
42|40|and the recompense of evil is evil the like of it; but whoso pardons and puts things right, his wage falls upon God; surely He loves not the evildoers.
48. Creed Of Non –Voilence
232.Fill Your Hearts With Loving Kindness And Seek Refuge in God
7|199|Take the abundance, and bid to what is honourable, and turn away from the ignorant.
7|200|If a provocation from Satan should provoke thee, seek refuge in God; He is All-hearing, All-seeing.
7|201|The godfearing, when a visitation of Satan troubles them, remember, and then see clearly;
233. Repel Evil Only With Righteousness
23|96|Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe.
23|97|And say: 'O my Lord, I take refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Satans,
23|98|and I take refuge in Thee, O my Lord, lest they attend me.'
234. When We Ask Forgiveness of God We Should Forgive Others
24|22|Let not those of you who possess bounty and plenty swear off giving kinsmen and the poor and those who emigrate in the way of God; but let them pardon and forgive. Do you not wish that God should forgive you? God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
235. Enemies Are Converted in to Friends
41|34|Not equal are the good deed and the evil deed. Repel with that which is fairer and behold, he between whom and thee there is enmity shall be as if he were a loyal friend.
41|35|Yet none shall receive it, except the steadfast; none shall receive it, except a man of mighty fortune.
236. How Love Come in to Being
19|96|Surely those who believe and do deeds of righteousness -- unto them the All-merciful shall assign love.
49. Sence Of Togetherness
237. Neigh bourliness
107|1|Hast thou seen him who cries lies to the Doom?
107|2|That is he who repulses the orphan
107|3|and urges not the feeding of the needy.
107|4|So woe to those that pray
107|5|and are heedless of their prayers,
107|6|to those who make display
107|7|and refuse charity.
238. Sharing With One Another at the Level of Integrity And Mercy
90|8|Have We not appointed to him two eyes,
90|9|and a tongue, and two lips,
90|10|and guided him on the two highways?
90|11|Yet he has not assaulted the steep;
90|12|and what shall teach thee what is the steep?
90|13|The freeing of a slave,
90|14|or giving food upon a day of hunger
90|15|to an orphan near of kin
90|16|or a needy man in misery;
90|17|then that he become of those who believe and counsel each other to be steadfast, and counsel each other to be merciful.
239. Sharing With One Another On The Plane of Truth And Fortitude
103|1|By the afternoon!
103|2|Surely Man is in the way of loss,
103|3|save those who believe, and do righteous deeds, and counsel each other unto the truth, and counsel each other to be steadfast.
240. Help Ye One Another unto Righteousness
5|3|Forbidden to you are carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, what has been hallowed to other than God, the beast strangled; the beast beaten down, the beast fallen to death, the beast gored, and that devoured by beasts of prey - excepting that you have sacrificed duly -- as also things sacrificed to idols, and partition by the divining arrows; that is ungodliness. Today the unbelievers have despaired of your religion; therefore fear them not, but fear you Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, and I have completed My blessing upon you, and I have approved Islam for your religion. But whosoever is constrained in emptiness and not inclining purposely to sin -- God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
241. Emphasize Good Works Whatever The Goals
2|148|Every man has his direction to which he turns; so be you forward in good works. Wherever you may be, God will bring you all together; surely God is powerful over everything.

242. I listen Not to Those Who Reject The Truth
68|8|So obey thou not those who cry lies.
68|9|They wish that thou shouldst compromise, then they would compromise.
68|10|And obey thou not every mean swearer,
68|11|backbiter, going about with slander,
68|12|hinderer of good, guilty aggressor, coarse-grained,
68|14|because he has wealth and sons.
51. Inescapable Resistance
243. Sacred Place Would Have Been Raised to The Ground The Absence of Resistance
22|39|Leave is given to those who fight because they were wronged -- surely God is able to help them --
22|40|who were expelled from their habitations without right, except that they say 'Our Lord is God.' Had God not driven back the people, some by the means of others, there had been destroyed cloisters and churches, oratories and mosques, wherein God's Name is much mentioned. Assuredly God will help him who helps Him -- surely God is All-strong, All-mighty
244. Restricted Resistance Allowed to Save One’s Creed
22|58|And those who emigrated in God's way and were slain, or died, God shall provide them with a fair provision; and surely God is the best of providers.
22|59|He shall admit them by a gate that is well-pleasing to them; and surely God is All-knowing, All-clement.
22|60|All that; and whosoever chastises after the manner that he was chastised and then again is oppressed, assuredly God will help him; surely God is All-pardoning, All-forgiving.
xx. CONTROL OVER THE PALATE
52. Abstemious Ways
245. Weariness of One Kind of Feed
2|61|And when you said, 'Moses, we will not endure one sort of food; pray to thy Lord for us, that He may bring forth for us of that the earth produces - green herbs, cucumbers, corn, lentils, onions.' He said, 'Would you have in exchange what is meaner for what is better? Get you down to Egypt; you shall have there that you demanded.' And abasement and poverty were pitched upon them, and they were laden with the burden of God's anger; that, because they had disbelieved the signs of God and slain the Prophets unrightfully; that, because they disobeyed, and were transgressors.
246. Who Holds Himself to Be Pure
4|49|Hast thou not regarded those who purify themselves? Nay; only God purifies whom He will; and they shall not be wronged a single date-thread.
247. Purity in Life is Mercy of God
24|21|O believers, follow not the steps of Satan; for whosoever follows the steps of Satan, assuredly he bids to indecency and dishonour. But for God's bounty to you and His mercy not one of you would have been pure ever; but God purifies whom He will; and God is All-hearing, All-knowing.
248. Subtle Faults Can Be Avoided by The Grace of God
53|32|Those who avoid the heinous sins and indecencies, save lesser offences surely thy Lord is wide in His forgiveness. Very well He knows you, when He produced you from the earth, and when you were yet unborn in your mothers' wombs; therefore hold not yourselves purified; God knows very well him who is godfearing.
249. Forsake Sin of Thought And Deed
6|120|Forsake the outward sin, and the inward surely the earners of sin shall be recompensed for what they have earned.
250. Purification And Remembrance of God

87|15|and mentions the Name of his Lord, and prays.
251. Keep Your Conscience Awake
91|7|By the soul, and That which shaped it
91|8|and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing!
91|9|Prosperous is he who purifies it,
91|10|and failed has he who seduces it.
252. Preservation of Modesty
7|26|Children of Adam! We have sent down on you a garment to cover your shameful parts, and feathers; and the garment of godfearing -- that is better; that is one of God's signs; haply they will remember.
7|27|Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you as he brought your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their garments to show them their shameful parts. Surely he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you see them not. We have made the Satans the friends of those who do not believe.
7|28|And whenever they commit an indecency they say, 'We found our fathers practising it, and God has commanded us to do it.' Say: 'God does not command indecency; what, do you say concerning God such things as you know not?'
253. Unauthorised Monasticism
57|27|Then We sent, following in their footsteps, Our Messengers; and We sent, following, Jesus son of Mary, and gave unto him the Gospel. And We set in the hearts of those who followed him tenderness and mercy. And monasticism they invented -- We did not prescribe it for them -- only seeking the good pleasure of God; but they observed it not as it should be observed. So We gave those of them who believed their wage; and many of them are ungodly.
254. John, The Celebate
3|38|Then Zachariah prayed to his Lord saying, 'Lord, give me of Thy goodness a goodly offspring. Yea, Thou hearest prayer.'
3|39|And the angels called to him, standing in the Sanctuary at worship, 'Lo, God gives thee good tidings of John, who shall confirm a Word of God, a chief, and chaste, a Prophet, righteous.'
255. Living in the Presence of God He Restrains His Soul From Lust
79|34|Then, when the Great Catastrophe comes
79|35|upon the day when man shall remember what he has striven,
79|36|and Hell is advanced for whoever sees,
79|37|then as for him who was insolent
79|38|and preferred the present life,
79|39|surely Hell shall be the refuge.
79|40|But as for him who feared the Station of his Lord and forbade the soul its caprice,
79|41|surely Paradise shall be the refuge.
