Prof. Ishtiaq Ahmed was born on February 24, 1947, in Lahore. He earned his doctorate in political science at Stockholm University, where he taught from 1987 to 2007. He was a visiting research professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), and at the South Asian Studies Program, National University of Singapore from June 2007 to June 2010. He has also served as a visiting professor at LUMS. At present, he is a visiting professor at Government College University, Lahore.
He has written six books, including The Punjab Bloodied, Partitioned and Cleansed: Unraveling the 1947 Tragedy (OUP), Pakistan: The Garrison State, Origins, Evolution, Consequences (OUP) and The Concept of an Islamic State in Pakistan: An Analysis of Ideological Controversies (Vanguard).
Shakil Chaudhary studied international relations in Islamabad and media in London. He has worked for several English-language newspapers. He is the author of Handbook of Functional English (Ferozsons).
