Stop
Blaming Religions For War And Strife. All Religions, Whether Islam,
Christianity, Buddhism Or Hinduism Advocate Peace And Tranquillity For The
Universe
Main
Points:
• A
religiophobic community is growing over the length and breadth of the world.
• Human
beings will have to work hard to first contain and ultimately kill the virus of
hatred. Followers of all religions are giving their own and other religions a
bad name.
• All
the Religions Are Flag Bearers of Peace.
------
There is a
growing religiophobic community spread over the length and breadth of the
world. Religion phobia is growing as people see the religious engaging in
strife and wars, committing unspeakable atrocities on each other. All of us
will have to work hard for a long time to first contain and ultimately kill the
virus of hatred.

All The
Religions Are Flag Bearers Of Peace But Their Followers Fight
Many blame
Islam in particular for terrorism, as Muslim terror ideologues quote Islamic
scriptures in justification of their atrocities against innocent civilians.
Other religions are a bit safe as their practitioners do not justify their
violence from their scriptures. All religions and religious gurus have
essentially preached the preservation of the beauty of humankind. Let us
examine some of the verses of some of the religions and decide to ourselves as
what Allah, God or gods and goddesses wanted us to be and what we have become.
Consider the following and decide for yourself:
By which Allah guides those who pursue His
pleasure to the ways of peace1 and brings them out from darknesses into the
light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path. (Quran: 5:16) — Saheeh
International
And when they leave ˹you˺,1 they strive throughout the land
to spread mischief in it and destroy crops and cattle. Allah does not like
mischief. (Quran:
2:205)— Dr Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
To each of you, We have ordained a code of law
and a way of life. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one community,
but His Will is to test you with what He has given ˹each of˺ you. So compete with one another in
doing good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you ˹of the truth˺ regarding your differences. (Surah Al-Ma'idah - 48) — Dr.
Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

The one who
loves all intensely begins perceiving in all living beings a part of himself.
He becomes a lover of all, a part and parcel of the Universal Joy. He flows
with the stream of happiness and is enriched by each soul. (Yajur Veda)
The human
body is the temple of God. One who kindles the light of awareness within gets
true light. The sacred flame of your inner shrine is constantly bright. The
experience of unity is the fulfilment of human endeavours. The mysteries of
life are revealed. (Rig Veda)
Those in
whose hearts OM reverberates Unceasingly are indeed blessed And deeply loved as
one who is the Self. The all-knowing Self was never born, Nor will it die.
Beyond cause and effect, This Self is eternal and immutable. When the body
dies, the Self does not die. (Katha Upanishad)

Above
mentioned Ayaat and teachings of various religious texts are a pointer towards
the lesson of peace and tranquillity. There are texts in the books that are
time-bound, revealed or said during a particular situation asking their
followers to defend themselves for the sake of peace and justice. Our misusing
those texts in pieces to prove a point that our wisdom says is right is
dishonesty towards the revelation and the sayings that should be deferred for
the sake of, if nothing else, spreading negative waves in the atmosphere.

Secular
Liberals Respect All Religions
Being a
secularist and a liberal means respecting all religions and all religion-based
ideologies. Prophet Muhammad Pbuh says:
...he who covers a Muslim (meaning his mistakes
and shortcomings), Allah will cover him in the Duniya and the Hereafter…”
[Muslim]
“God grants to gentleness (Rifq) what He does
not grant to violence (Unf). (Sunah Abu Dawud 4/255)
And
Allah knows the best.
