Religions They Follow and Have Become Hypocrites

The
twenty-first-century political world has turned hypocrite. The good news is
that only a minimal number of politicians have turned hypocrites, but the bad
news is that they have either maimed all the political and social institutions
that run a democratic country or have frightened them to submission.
Hypocritical
Behaviour of the Political World
The
twenty-first century was expected to prove a milestone in the overall
development of a humane approach towards the benevolent society but it
misunderstood the meaning of development. The willingness of acquiring as many
luxuries for self as possibly started a mad race of materialistic supremacism.
The quest for unnatural accumulation of wealth brought negativities like lies,
cheating and jealousy in human life. These negativities got prominence in
politics. The political leaders around the world found an ally in these lies,
cheating and false promises and marketed them for their cause of political
power. The hypocritical disguise of the politicians made them promise the moon
to the masses. Such out of the world promises are the outcome of perverse
minds.
Politics
and hypocrisy in political parlance are ‘made for each other’. There is
hypocrisy in the religious world too, and it is not a new normal as is the case
with politics. World politics has come to such a pass that it has seemingly
become impossible for a politician to be on the side of the truth that has
turned so ugly that it is has lost its power of people’s attention. People have
trust in politicians, ‘who do nothing but showcase their utmost concern of
doing everything they could for the welfare of society.
In the race
of worldly power, the politicians of the twenty-first century have turned their
backs to the religious teachings of the religions they follow and have become
hypocrites. All the concerned political and religious leaders are highly
educated, in the sense that they understand what they are doing. They know, the
world is a temporary abode. They know lying, breaking of trust and dishonesty
are the vices that are, one day, bound to fall and be a reason for humiliation
in the world and harsh punishment hereafter. The lust of their supremacism has
blinded them to the fact that only God is supreme and that He provides with
sustenance to whom He wills, as the Holy Quran says, ‘..."Verily, Allah
provides sustenance to whom He wills, without limit." - (Ali 'Imran:
37)’.
Characteristics
of a Hypocrite According to Prophet Muhammad Pbuh
Prophet
Muhammad Pbuh faced hypocrites wherever he went. The religious hypocrites
abused the humility and compassion of the Prophet (SAW). They lied, violated
their promises acted treacherously and deviated from the truth. Prophet
Muhammad (SAW)’s grace never allowed him to act against them. According to a
tradition, Prophet Muhammad Pbuh described the characteristics of a hypocrite
as follows:
Narrated
Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The signs of a Munafiq are three:
Whenever he
speaks, he tells a lie.
Whenever he
promises, he always breaks it (his promise).
If you
trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with
him, he will not return it.)" Another narration adds the words: "Even
if he observes Saum (fasts), performs Salat (prayer) and claims to be a
Muslim." - (Sahih al-Bukhari)
The
twenty-first century is witnessing what the Holy Prophet Muhammad Pbuh once
said about a hypocrite. Signs of a hypocrite as described by the Apostle of
Allah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW):
“There are four (characteristics), whoever has
all of them is a complete hypocrite, and whoever has some of them has some
element of hypocrisy, unless he gives it up: when he speaks, he lies; when he
makes a treaty, he betrays it; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; when he
quarrels, he resorts to insults.”(Narrated by Muslim, 53)
The
characteristics that are described in the above mentioned Prophetic tradition
are the characteristics of these twenty-first-century politicians, spread all
over the world. They are lying to the people, they are betraying and breaking
promises (not fulfilling the promises of their manifestoes) and finally, when
one protests against their misdoings they arrest them and force them to
submission. For such people, Allah, the Most Exalted says in the Holy Quran:
‘...Verily the Hypocrites are rebellious and perverse. (At-Tawbah 9:67)’.
They know
what they are promising cannot be fulfilled. Not only the political hypocrisy
but the terrorist organisations, the ISIS, the Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram and all the
factions of the Taliban along with White Supremacist ideological hypocrites
will taste defeat against the power of divine humanity as Allah the Most
Gracious says in the Holy Quran:
.... "Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with
us." And Allah sent down his tranquillity upon him and supported him with
angels you did not see ... - (At-Tawbah: 40)
Following
Prophetic tradition asks the believers not to be disheartened as Allah, the
Most Gracious always comes true to the expectations of His people.
The Prophet
(SAW) said in a Qudsi Hadeeth: “Allah, the Exalted, Says, ‘I am as my slave
expects me to be.’”
Quranic
Verses that Denigrate Hypocrisy
“(They are) swaying between this and that,
belonging neither to these nor to those; - ([al-Nisa: 143)
“And when it is said to them: ‘Make not
mischief on the earth,’ they say: ‘We are only peacemakers.’ Verily, they are
the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not” - (al-Baqarah: 11-12)
“And when you look at them, their bodies please
you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood
propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so
beware of them. May Allah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from)
the Right Path?” -
(al-Munaafiqoon 63:4)

on the outside but the inside is full of the bones of the dead and everything

They devour
widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished
most severely.” - Luke 20: 47
“Both
prophet and priest are godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness,”

Hindu
Scriptures Demeaning Hypocrisy
O Parth,
the qualities of those who possess a demoniac nature are hypocrisy, arrogance,
conceit, anger, harshness, and ignorance. - BG 16.4
The
austerity which is practised with the object of gaining good reception, honour
and worship, and with hypocrisy, is here said to be Rajasic, unstable, and
transitory. (BG 17: 18)
Holding
fast to such views, these misdirected souls, with small intellect and cruel
actions, arise as enemies of the world threatening its destruction. - (BG:
16-9)
The Help
of Allah Is Near
People who
have fallen prey to the hypocrisy of the politicians and have lost lives of
their beloved ones and are now on the brink of collapse both socially and
financially need to have patience and belief in Allah the Almighty Creator of
the universe who never tests His people more than they could tolerate. Allah says in the Holy Quran, ‘God does
not burden any soul with more than it can bear: ... - (Al-Baqarah - 286).
Therefore, there is all probability that sooner or later political scenario of
the world will come to sense and the bewilderment of people will turn into
peace and solidarity. It is said that nothing is permanent here, therefore, in
the light of the above-mentioned verse, we should assume that the time is not
far away when the ruling hypocrites will be defeated and peace and tranquillity
and inclusiveness will again find their root among the people.
Allah the
Creator of the universe is not far away from the suppressed and the poor as He
says in the Holy Quran, ‘Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.
(Al-Baqarah: 214)’. Allah will take cognizance and all kinds of physical,
social, mental and financial brutalities of politics being perpetrated on the
common man, all over the world will come to an end.
Allah
answers the call of a destitute sooner than expected. Ibn Mas‘ood, RA, says:
“By Allah,
a believer is not endowed with a better blessing than having good expectations
of Allah. By Allah, no person expects good of Him except that He gives him what
he expected; for all good lies in His Hand.” (Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya)
People all
over the world are cheated more in the name of religion than anything else.
Politicians of the twenty-first century also exploited this weakness of the
people and divided their voters into religious lines. Islam is the second
largest, financially poorest and widely divided on sectarian lines was targeted
for the political gains. Thus, came into being socially the most dreaded
ailment, the Islamophobia that ignited the fire of Islamophobic hypocrisy. As
one lie does not long for a long time, the politicians derived various other
lies for being on the hot seat of their countries.
The
hypocritical balloon filled with lies and cheatings of various kinds has to
deflate, sooner or later, under its burden. Till that time let the people of
God have patience and pray for the social awakening and betterment of the
society so that they do not come under the influence of lies about any
religion. All religions are a way of a good and pious life full of
inclusiveness and brotherhood.
Allah is
All-Forgiving
Following
two verses of the Holy Quran are for the hypocrites to be mindful of the
punishment waiting for them on the Day of Judgement, unless they take to the
righteous path and ask for His forgiveness.
“Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and
disbelievers all together in Hell” [al-Nisa’ 4:140
“Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest
depth (grade) of the Fire” - (al-Nisa’ 4:145)
Some

normal of hypocrisy ruling the world. The debunked promises have left the world
in a lurk ahead of which there is nothing but darkness. May religions and
religious preachers, Sufis, Saints and leaders of the world perform their duties
