As the Saudi/Wahhabi institutions and
individuals are posing serious threat to the internal security of the nation by
radicalizing Muslim youth and misguiding them in the name of Islam, the-so-far
silent voice of mainstream moderate Muslims is beginning to come out.
All India Ulama & Mashikh Board is
an organization of such mainstream moderate Muslims which has embarked on a
mission to counter the Saudi-supported Salafi-Wahhabi extremism on Indian soil.
In a press release issued today, the AIUMB has announced its Annual General
Meeting to be held on June 30, 2013 at the shrine of the Sufi saint Shaikhul
Alam in Rudauli Sharif (UP). The main agenda of the 8th Annual General Meeting
is to discuss ways to combat the menace of Saudi/Wahhabi radicalization of
Indian Muslim Society.
Khanqahe Hazrat Shaikhul Alam will
host the one day meeting that will be attended by heads of most shrines (known
as Khanqahs, Dargahs and Astanas)
spread all over India. Besides Sufi Ulema and the heads of shrines, a great
number of intellectuals, scholars and central and state officers will also
attend the meet.
According to the announcement, the meeting
will discuss its agenda in detail in a bid to find an effective way to ensure
that the Indian Muslims be restored to the mainstream and saved from the fatal
elements of extremism. It will review the major causes of rise in all kinds of
extremism creeping into the county after the incident of 26/11.
Among main topics of discussion is
representation of Muslims in Central Waqf Council, State Waqf Boards, Hajj
Committee of India, State Hajj Committees and other Muslim bodies, apart from
government bodies. The AIUMB will ponder over the steps that can be taken to
ensure the required representation of Indian Muslims in these bodies. The
agenda of the meeting includes a review of the schemes announced, funds
released and steps taken for the welfare of the minorities during 9 years of
UPA Government. At the end of the meeting, National Secretary of the Board Syed
Babar Ashraf will present the Annual Report of AIUMB, while General Secretary Hazrat
Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichhouchhwi will come up with the details of
correspondence with the government.
It is noteworthy that All India Ulema
& Mashaikh Board was established eight years ago with a clear objective of
propagating peace, tolerance, religious moderation and fraternity among the
members of the community. It aims at promoting Sufi teachings and practices
that foster the composite culture of India.

name of Islam. The agenda of the 8th Annual General Meeting of All
India Ulama & Mashaikh Board will discuss such threats to the nation among
the radicalization of Indian Muslim Society. AGM scheduled on 30th
June in Rudauli, Distt. Faizabad (UP).
Khanqahe
Hazrat Shaikhul Alam will host this one day meeting to be attended by heads of
Khanqahs, Dargahs and Astanas spread all over India. Along with Sajjadgan,
Gaddi Nashin & Mashaikh other Muslim clerics and intellectuals besides
central and state office bearers of AIUMB will attend.
As
it has been observed that Indian Muslims are deprived of their rightful place
in the socio political arena and they are represented by a group of people
funded and guided by an alien extreme power and are promoting extremism under
the patronage of government hence it is essential to devise a way in this
meeting to correct things and make the Indian Muslim voice heard in policing
making process for the Muslims of India.
The
Saudi/Wahhabi institutions and individuals are creating danger to the internal
security of the land by radicalizing Muslim youth and misguiding them in the
name of Islam. This meeting will discuss the mater in detail and try to find a
way to ensure that the Indian Muslims come back in the main stream and the
elements propagating extremism are isolated.
The
agenda also includes review of the reasons of rise in extremism of all kind in
the county after 26/11 and steps to stop to this menace.
This
annual General Meeting will discuss among other things, to what extent Indian
Muslims are represented in Central Waqf Council, State Waqf Boards, Hajj
Committee of India, State Hajj Committees and other Muslim bodies apart from
government bodies requiring Muslims representation and if it is found inadequate,
what step can be taken to ensure that Indian Muslims are fully accommodated in
these bodies.
The
agenda of the meeting includes a review of the schemes announced, funds released
and steps taken for the welfare of the minorities during 9 years of UPA
Government and if Muslims are not adequately benefited from these activities
what steps may be taken to ensure that they obtain their due share in
government welfare schemes.
National
Secretary of the Board Syed Babar Ashraf will present the Annul Report. The
office bearers including the General Secretary Hazrat Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf
Kichhouchhwi will present the essence of correspondence with the government and
the representations given to Union and several states governments about the
sorry state of affairs of the community.
It
may be mentioned that All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board was established
eight year ago with a definite aim to propagate peace, tolerance, amity and
pacifism among the members of the community as per Sufi practices and strengthen the composite culture of India
which has been greatly shaped by the teaching of Sufis /Saints of all over the
country.
The
Board has prioritized establishment of quality Modern Education Centers in all
the areas of dense Muslim concentration.
