Yati Narsinghanand's Outbursts

Today is
very auspicious both for Hindus and Muslims as Akshya Tritiya and Eid-al-Fitr
fall on the same day. So, condemning anyone from any faith will make me an
insensitive person. Yet, I'm having to condemn this Yati Narsinghanand for
urging his followers to attack Mecca and seize Kaaba! If this is not
sacrilegious, what else is? This fanatic labours under the misconception that
Kaaba was originally a Hindu temple! He calls it Makkeshwar Mahadev Mandir.

Discerning
readers might be aware that there was one joker by the name of P N Oak. This
Poona-based 'historian' wrote a useless book, ' Some blunders of Indian
Historical Research ' in 1966. That book was an unadulterated diatribe against
Muslims and Christians and he tried to prove that Taj Mahal was Tejo Mahal and
Girja ( church) was a distortion of Girija, a Hindu goddess. That book was rife
with complete nonsense and it annoyed the historians, most of them being
Hindus, so much that he was thrown out of The Indian Council of Historical
Research.
Though no
serious historian of any stripe ever took this rabid Brahman from Maharashtra
seriously, the uneducated WhatsApp generation and the current political
dispensation birthed a harvest of sick Sanatanis like this Yati, Sadhus, Mahants,
Sadhvis and pseudo-researchers who're ready to believe every word that Oak said
in his long spells of delirium.
Hindus
entertain a very erroneous view that once upon a time, Hinduism spread across
the world and all the holy structures anywhere in the world were once Hindu
temples or structures!
Now when
the government is also hell-bent upon deleting historical facts, the outbursts
of people like Yati, Sadhvi Prachi, among others add fuel to fire and receive
more traction.
We're
living with zealots. Religion is the latest buzzword. Christian missionaries in
Punjab are giving concessions on bus tickets to the newly baptized (erstwhile
Sikh/Hindu) girls. We're least bothered about much more pressing issues like
population and employment. To us, religion is the alpha and omega. Jai Sri Ram,
Jay Jesus, Jay Allah......Have I committed an unforgivable act of blasphemy by
adding the prefix ' Jay' to Jesus and Allah? By the way, Eid Mubarak to all.
