Why Don't a Majority of Muslims Use Their Brains and Prudence?

First of
all, the very article, ‘Are Jokes,
Laughter and General Humour Allowed in Islam?' is strange, rather ridiculous.
Does a
Hindu seek Ram's permission to laugh? Does a Christian crack jokes after
getting a go-ahead from Jesus or god? Does a Sikh think whether his Ten Gurus
will be happy or angry before cracking his typical Sardar jokes? Do we all
laugh or make a wry face because god or religion wants us to laugh or sulk?
The point
is: Why should any damn god, religion, prophet dictate terms to us even in the
matters of laughing, cracking jokes or humour? All these things are so natural
and spontaneous. Why bring in religion and Allah?
Agreed, one
should refrain from cracking bawdy and ribald jokes in public. But if in the
confinement of four walls and in the company of close pals, one cracks naughty
jokes once in a blue moon, will that anger your Allah or go against the
'teachings' of your faith? If yes, it's better to call your faith a
Totalitarian religion.
Islam,
which isn't exactly a religion but a cult like Christianity, has been further
relegated to the level of Mutawa (Arab Morality Police) by its village
clerics and maulvis. Otherwise also, Islam is a totalitarian cult. Like
fundamentalist Judaism and medieval Christianity, Islam is totalist. That's to
say, it makes a total claim on the individual. Indeed, there's no individual;
there's only the umma- the community of believers.
Islam
follows you everywhere, into the kitchen, into the bedroom, into the bathroom,
and beyond death into eternity. Islam means- 'submission'- The surrender of
independence of mind. That surrender now bears the weight of well over 60
generations and 14 centuries.
The
followers of Islam must use and apply their brains and prudence and stop
relying on the Quran, Sunnah (Muhammad's way of life), Allah, Hadees
(Muhammad's plagiarised teachings) and maulvis to live like free humans and not
as religiously enslaved zombies. C G Jung rightly said, " If you want to
ogle at a damsel with not much dirty intention, do that. If you feel like
breaking wind, don't be afraid. All these innocuous acts amuse your god rather
than make him angry." Are blinkered Muslim listening?
