On August 7, perennial Islam basher Robert Spencer slams Congresswoman Cori Bush for her realistic comments on Israel’s persecution of Palestinian people. Recently, she wrote on Twitter:
Congresswoman Cori Bush
The fight for Black lives and the fight for Palestinian liberation are interconnected. We oppose our money going to fund militarized policing, occupation, and systems of violent oppression and trauma. We are anti-war. We are anti-occupation. And we are anti-apartheid. Period.
This spurred Robert Spencer to defend Israel as the victim of the Palestinian jihad and also called Cori Bush pro-jihad.
Commenting on her statement, Mr. Spencer quipped:
“We are anti-war, we are anti-occupation, and we are anti-apartheid.”
And, apparently, pro-jihad.
There is no doubt that the U.S. government should invest first in American communities, and lower tax rates so that people in those communities can take care of themselves and be masters of their own destiny. But her moral myopia, in claiming that Israel oppresses and brutalizes “Palestinians,” while ignoring the “Palestinian” jihad, strips her words of any moral authority.”
In another show of violation of journalistic ethos, Robert Spencer drags the ISIS in the latest hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. On August 6, Hezbollah had fired rockets against Israel to which Israel had made retaliatory fires against Hezbollah. Reporting on this development, Jihad Watch wrote:
“Jihad groups operating in Lebanon include Hizbollah, Hamas, the Islamic State, and the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, all of which seek to obliterate the Jewish state.”
He deliberately included the name of the ISIS among the attackers. The news report of the most reliable news agency Reuters exposes the lie. An excerpt from the Reuters August 6 report is presented here:
“The salvoes began on Wednesday with a rocket strike on Israel from Lebanon for which no group claimed responsibility. That attack, on which Hezbollah has not commented, drew retaliatory Israeli artillery and air strikes.
Hezbollah, one of Iran's major allies in the Middle East, said it had fired dozens of rockets on Friday at open ground near Israeli positions in the disputed Shebaa Farms border area in response the Israeli airstrikes on Thursday
The Reuters news makes it clear that it was a confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah and that no other group had claimed responsibility. This kind of dishonest journalism only stokes Islamophobia and presents political developments in the wrong light misleading the global community.
