Islamabad's Lal Masjid Imam Maulana Abdul Aziz’s Brazen Support to the Terrorists

The Imam (preacher) of Islamabad's Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz, who had been arrested trying to escape the Masjid in a Burqa during the operation against the Masjid in the Musharraf era, has demonstrated ruthlessness and refused to condemn the Peshawar killings.

 In an interview he has said that when both parties are at fault, only one party should not be condemned. While the entire nation is heartbroken at the Peshawar tragedy, the Maulana has rubbed salt to the injury by saying that Taliban are fighting a Shariah-approved battle. He further said that he was associated with the ulema of Deoband and no Deobandi mufti in the entire country has issued a fatwa against Taliban. Maulana Abdul Aziz says he does not consider Operation Zarb-e-Azb a solution to problems. He should then tell us if the killing of innocent children is the solution of terrorism. Maulana played politics on the dead bodies of children. Perhaps his heart does not cry at the sight of the dead bodies of hundreds of children. He has greeted ISIS in Pakistan, rather he boasts of his association with the terrorist organization. The evil of terrorism cannot be rooted out in presence of such elements.

The ulema of Deoband should clarify whether they really stand shoulder to shoulder with the terrorists, as claimed by Maulvi Abdul Aziz. Do the ulema who have issued fatwas against terrorism follow any other Shariat? Maulana Abdul Aziz has spoiled the honour of a religious scholar with his activities. It is surprising to see a government employee shamelessly supporting terrorists. While the entire nation wants to get rid of the menace of terrorism, some wayward people are backing the terrorists and want to import more terrorism as representatives of the ISIS. To save the nation from the mischief of Maulana Abdul Aziz, the government should suspend him from his post and deport him from the country so that he can assist the ISIS freely and execute his condemnable agenda for which he sacrificed many innocent girls and boys. A person who represents ignorance should also be stripped of the title of Maulana.
