Right Wing Groups Move Supreme Court To Seek Action
Against Muslim Leaders, Asaduddin Owaisi and Tauqeer Raza For Hate Speech
Supreme Court of Idia
-----
23rd January 2022
Two different intervention applications have been
filed in the Supreme Court in the ongoing petition filed seeking an independent
inquiry into the Haridwar Dharam Sansad speeches. National President of Hindu
Sena Vishnu Gupta and Hindu Front for Justice, have moved separate applications
seeking intervention and to make themselves parties in the ongoing petition filed
by Qurban Ali who has sought an independent inquiry into the Haridwar Dharam
Sansad speeches. The Supreme Court on January 10 agreed to hear petition filed
by Qurban Ali.
Now, National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta and
Hindu Front for Justice, in separate pleas want to be heard by the Court in the
ongoing petition against speeches deliver in Haridwar Dharam Sansad. Hindu
Front for Justice, in its intervening application filed through advocate Vishnu
Shankar Jain said that there are various instances where allegedly hate
speeches are delivered against Hindus and that should also be examined.
Meanwhile, another application has been moved in the
Supreme Court by National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta seeking
intervention and to become a party to the hate speech petition filed by Qurban
Ali. He has also sought action and lodging of FIR against the hate speech given
by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi and
Ittehad-e-Millat Council leader Tauqeer Raza and others.
Besides Asaduddin Owaisi and Tauqeer Raza, Gupta has
also sought to issue direction to concerned state government to lodge FIR
against president of All India Imam Association Sajid Rashidi, AAP politician
Amanatullah Khan, AIMIM leader Waris Pathan for allegedly delivering hate
speeches.
“That the petitioners (Qurban Ali) who belong to
Muslim Community and who are follower of Islam are not supposed to raise
objection against the affairs or activities related to Hindu Dharm Sansad. In
fact by way of aforesaid petition, an effort is being made to scandalize the
spiritual leaders of Hindus. The Constitution of India provides equal
protection to the followers of all faith and religion, in this context
reference may be made to Article 19(1)(a) and (b) read with Article- 25 of the
constitution of India, ” the petitioner Vishnu Gupta said in his plea. “Thus it
is crystal clear that every citizen of this country has freedom of conscience,
practice and propagation of religion. Therefore, the Holding Dharma Sansad by
Hindu is protected by Article 19(a)(b) and article 25 of the constitution of
India. Therefore the objections of the Petitioner (Qurban Ali) in the aforesaid
matter are against the constitutional scheme and encroachment on Fundamental
right of Hindu’s, “the petitioner added.
The application filed by Vishnu Gupta said that the
Hindu culture and civilization has been the victim of foreigners and the fact
is corroborated by the fact that temples in this country have been converted
into a mosque by Muslim Invaders right from the khilji dynasty up to the Mughal
dynasty. The petition filed by journalist Qurban Ali has sought an independent
inquiry into the Haridwar Dharma Sansad speeches allegedly inciting violence
against the minority community and the arrest and trial of people who made hate
speeches, inciting violence towards Muslims, at the Haridwar Dharma Sansad
conclave.
The hate speeches were allegedly delivered between
December 17 and 19, 2021, in Haridwar by Yati Narsinghanand and in Delhi by
‘Hindu Yuva Vahini’. The plea filed by Ali said that the alleged hate speeches
consisted of open calls for genocide of Muslims in order to achieve ethnic
cleansing.

Nusrat Ghani, Britain's First Female Muslim Minister:
I Was Sacked As A Minister ‘Because I Was A Muslim’
Nusrat Ghani said she had
considered quitting as an MP/David Cliff/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images
-----
January 23, 2022
A British lawmaker has said she was fired from a
ministerial job because her Muslim faith was making her Conservative colleagues
“uncomfortable,” according to a report.
Nusrat Ghani, 49, Britain's first female Muslim
minister, was sacked as transport minister in a reshuffle in 2020 in Prime
Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative government, The Sunday Times reported.
Ghani told the newspaper she was told by a whip - an
enforcer of parliamentary discipline - that her “Muslimness was raised as an
issue” at a meeting in 10 Downing Street, the headquarters of the government in
London.
"I was told that at the reshuffle meeting in
Downing Street that ‘Muslimness’ was raised as an ‘issue’, that my ‘Muslim
women minister’ status was making colleagues uncomfortable," the paper
quoted Ghani as saying.
"I will not pretend that this hasn’t shaken my
faith in the party and I have at times seriously considered whether to continue
as an MP (Member of Parliament),” she added.
She also said she was told “there were concerns ‘that
I wasn’t loyal to the party as I didn’t do enough to defend the party against
Islamophobia allegations.’”
“When I challenged whether this was in any way acceptable
and made clear there was little I could do about my identity, I had to listen
to a monologue on how hard it was to define when people are being racist and
that the party doesn’t have a problem and I needed to do more to defend
it," she said.
“It was very clear to me that the whips and No 10 were
holding me to a higher threshold of loyalty than others because of my
background and faith,” said Ghani, who is vice chairwoman of the party’s
decision-making 1922 Committee of backbenchers.
She said she kept quiet about the issue as she was
warned that she would be “ostracised by colleagues” and her “career and
reputation would be destroyed” otherwise.
Ghani said the feeling of “isolation and powerlessness
after this episode would not leave me and I raised it several more times
through official party channels and with some colleagues.”
“I will not pretend that this hasn’t shaken my faith
in the party,” she said.

Boko Haram, ISWAP Recruiting Child Soldiers
Director, Army Public
Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu
-----
Solomon Odeniyi
23 January 2022
The Nigerian Army said it was studying the video of
the Islamic State West Africa Province children fighters executing its
personnel.
The video released by the ISWAP, according to the
Associated Press, was published on Tuesday by the SITE Intelligence Group,
which monitors jihadi activities.
In the video, a man in the Nigerian Army uniform, who
claimed that he was with the army special forces, was shot twice in the head by
a boy of about 12.
Shortly after, another soldier, who said he was
captured in April 2021, was shot in the head by one of the three masked
fighters behind him.
Speaking with our correspondent on Friday, the
Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, stated
that the action of the terrorists had been a long time practice in terrorism
across the world.
He said the terrorists were trying to embark on
recruitment drive with the video as many of their fighters had surrendered to
troops.
Nwachukwu stated, “We are studying the video. However,
the action of the terrorists has been a long time practice in terrorism across
the globe.
“Recall that the terrorist groups, ISWAP/Boko Haram,
have in the past used women and children as suicide bombers. They have also
conscripted children and minors, who they engage as child soldiers, and women,
who they use as sex slaves.
“Having been depleted by our troops, the imbroglio in
their ranks and the massive surrendering of Boko Haram, the terrorists in a
desperate move are embarking on a recruitment drive to shore up their strength
with child soldiers, who they can easily indoctrinate, manipulate and cheaply
manage financially.
“We have raised this alarm before now and have since
commenced sensitisation in the North-East to guard against and block their
recruitment drive.”
Nwachukwu urged residents of the North-East not to be
deceived by the gimmicks of ISWAP terrorists into releasing their children and
wards for their evil cause.
AP had quoted the Executive Director, SITE
Intelligence Group, Rita Katz, as saying that ISIS “is now more desperate than
ever to keep its name in the global discussion…given the fact that it no longer
has a physical ‘caliphate’ outside of relatively small bases in different
countries.”
The video, she said, “demonstrates the immense focus
ISIS is placing on Africa” and puts a “spotlight on Nigeria as one of its
strongholds and projecting itself as an adaptive, enduring force to the world.”
The UN children’s agency estimates that globally, more
than 93,000 children were recruited and used in conflicts between 2005 and
2020.

Minister For Parliamentary Affairs Supports ‘Islamic
Presidential’ System: ‘Country Never Had Presidential System In True Sense’
Pakistan Minister For
Parliamentary Affairs
----
By Muhammad Saleh Zaafir
January 23, 2022
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs
Ali Muhammad Khan on Saturday, while speaking about the “Islamic” Presidential
System in detail, said the country has never experienced the presidential
system in true sense and spirit.
In an interview, he said the presidential system is
being discussed at the social media alone but it has not come up for a
discussion at the cabinet or government level so far.
The PTI minister said Pakistan had never experienced
the Islamic Presidential System. Both the parliamentary and presidential
systems have their own merits and demerits but the government has not taken any
decision for holding a referendum for the Islamic Presidential System. It is
the people who will decide about the system, he added.
Comparing Parliamentary and presidential systems, the
PTI minister said in the parliamentary system, a party forming the government
had secured lesser votes than the aggregate votes of candidates of other
parties; however, in the Islamic Presidential System, every vote that has been
cast, would carry its significance.
He further said that if the Islamic Presidential
System gets its way in Pakistan, it would be through polls in a democratic
manner as Ayub Khan, Ziaul Haq and Pervez Musharraf were not elected through
the democratic process.
The discussion about the presidential system has
continued to dominate the social media, while no political party has supported
the highly controversial idea as the constitutional experts are of the view
that any scheme that could damage Constitution’s Parliamentary and Islamic
character would demolish the very basis of it.

Syria: Deadly fighting continues after 'Islamic State'
prison break
23.01.2022
Fighting at a prison in the northern Syrian city of
al-Hasaka entered a fourth day on Sunday as the Kurdish Syrian Democratic
Forces (SDF) continued to battle fighters from the extremist "Islamic
State" (IS) group after a breakout at the facility.
Almost 80 IS members and 39 Kurdish fighters have been
killed in the violence at the Ghwayran jail since it was first attacked by IS
militants on Thursday, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for
Human Rights. The group, affiliated with the Syrian opposition, has been
monitoring the country's conflict since it broke out in 2011.
The Observatory said that at least seven civilians
have also been killed in the fighting, which has seen US-led coalition forces
carry out airstrikes in support of Kurdish forces. US troops were also reported
to have taken up positions around the prison, which houses people suspected of
belonging to IS.
