Kashmiri Seminary scholar demands stern action to
crush Takfiri terrorists, pays tribute to martyrs of Peshawar and expresses
condolences to their families.
Expressing his anger and sorrow over the heinous
terror suicide attack at the Jamia Masjid Imamia Peshawar Pakistan, J&K`s
young Iran based Islamic scholar Waseem Reza Kashmiri strongly condemned the
action and said that those who turn places of worship into Slaughterhouse are
open enemies of Islam and humanity. The time has come to take stern action to
crush the Takfiri terrorists who are inciting hatred by massacring innocent people
all over the world.
In a statement issued here, prominent Islamic Seminary
Scholar of Al-Mustafa(Pbuh) International University Iran said terrorists have
bloodied humanity by targeting innocent worshipers. Mosques, Imam Barga`s,
shrines and places of worship of other religions have been targeted in Pakistan
for a long time and the failure of the government and security agencies to
provide security to the people and to take a soft line against terrorists
raises many questions.
He said that the tragedy in Peshawar deserve wide
condemnation and immediate legal action should be taken against the
organizations promoting terrorism and takfirism.
The Seminary from Jammu and Kashmir prayed for the
high status of the martyrs of Peshawar and expressed sympathies with victim
families.

MAR 05 2022
Thousands of people protested here on Saturday against
the bombing of a Shia mosque in Pakistan that left 62 worshippers dead and
nearly 200 others injured the previous day.
A suicide bomber, belonging to the ISIS-Khorasan, blew
himself up inside a mosque in Qissa Khwani bazaar in Peshawar, capital of
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, in one of the deadliest attacks in the
restive region, bordering Afghanistan.
Chanting slogans against Pakistan for its failure to
protect the minorities in the country, the protesters marched through the Shia
dominated main town and later staged a sit-in.
Meanwhile, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council
(LAHDC), Kargil also denounced the attack on the unarmed devotees and requested
the Indian government and world community to exert pressure on the Pakistani
government to bring the culprits to the...
“Such barbaric acts are against the very basic tenets
of humanity. LAHDC Kargil joins the world community in denouncing the dastardly
attack upon unarmed worshippers,” the chairman and chief executive council,
Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan, said.
“We request the government of India and the world
community to exert pressure on the government of Pakistan to bring to book the
culprits behind yesterday's reprehensible attack,” Khan said.

Govt Asked Not To ‘Condone’ Russia’s Military

March 6, 2022
KARACHI: A seasoned former diplomat on Saturday
advised the government not to condone the Russian military intervention in
Ukraine, while others called upon Islamabad to take a leaf out of Beijing’s
playbook and condemn ‘both sides’ in equal measure.
“Russia may have been provoked but we should not
condone the military intervention in Ukraine,” said Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, who
is now at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad.
During a discussion on ‘Pakistan’s Foreign Policy:
Challenges In Transitional Era’, speakers at the 13th Karachi Literature
Festival (KLF) urged the Pakistani government not to condone Russia’s ‘military
intervention’ in Ukraine and asked them to learn a lesson or two from close
ally China that had condemned the US for provoking and allegedly overlooking
security concerns of Moscow. But at the same time, they recalled, Beijing had —
in a way — criticised the invasion of Kyiv by saying that the ‘sovereignty of
Ukraine should be respected’.
Talking about two schools of thought in foreign policy
pertaining to ‘morality and realistic’, Mr Chaudhry observed undermining
sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country could not be condoned. He
recalled that it was due to this reason that Pakistan had condemned the regime
change policy of Washington in Syria because it impinged on sovereignty of
Damascus.
“We should not support any illegal action against any
country,” said senior journalist and author, Zahid Hussain. He suggested it was
important for Pakistan to look into the position that China had taken about the
Ukraine invasion.
Another former envoy and anchor, Zafar Hilaly recalled
the US broke the promise it made with last ruler of Soviet Union, Mikhail
Gorbachev for not expanding Nato but it had expanded Nato more than double.
Earlier, the former envoy said ‘unilateralism,
violation of UN charter/global norms, competition among global powers like the
US, Russia and China, trade protectionism and treating immigrants as threats to
security and economy’ were some of the aspects of transitional global politics.
In another programme, titled ‘Security Conundrum:
Internal and External’, Dr Haider Nizamani who teaches at IBA Karachi said the
much-talked recent national security policy appeared to be ‘an advance course
on human security’ as it did not tell us as to how to move away from
geostrategic to geo-economic.
He opined that this shift on human security would not
be possible unless the India factor was addressed and the said policy stressed
that ‘normal ties’ with New Delhi would be possible only when the Kashmir
dispute was addressed. He also criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent
claim that he knew India better merely because he had been visiting it as
cricket player in the past.
Ms Salma Malik, who teaches at the Department of
Defence and Strategic Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, called for
adopting careful policy for taking sides in wake of evolving of rivalry between
the US, Russia and China, ‘as environment is different and actors are different
today.’

Muslim League to stay in UDF, says present situation
doesn’t warrant rethink
06th March 2022
By Express News Service
KOZHIKODE: The
Indian Union Muslim League dismissed reports on its “likely” switch to the Left
front as rumours, saying present situation does not warrant a rethink on its
political stand. “As far as we are concerned, it is not the time to think of
any other political line,” said IUML acting state general secretary PMA Salam.
He said the League was an integral part of the UDF.
Salam was reacting to a volley of questions at a news
conference on whether the party was thinking of any alternative other than the
UDF. Such rumours were rife, especially after LDF MLA K T Jaleel held a meeting
with Muslim League leader P K Kunhalikutty. “How can we know that what Jaleel
said was the CPM line,” asked Salam, adding the party does not think the CPM
had extended a welcome to join the LDF.

Russia obstructs Iran nuclear deal as the Kremlin frets

VIENNA — Moscow is throwing up last-minute demands
that could scupper an international nuclear deal with Iran — and the timing is
unlikely to be coincidental as the Kremlin frets about the growing threat to
its critical oil revenue after its invasion of Ukraine.
Hopes had been high that international negotiators
from the permanent five members of the U.N. Security Council, Germany and the
EU would be able to secure a deal with Tehran on Saturday to put strict limits
on Iran’s atomic work in exchange for sanctions relief for the Islamic
Republic.

Bangladesh is among countries that could emerge as the
venues of choice for Indian medical students -- forced out of their studies in

However, the enthusiasm for neighbouring countries

down as India's National Medical Commission (NMC) has already said that Indian
medical graduates with incomplete internships due to situations beyond their

PTI allies will get ‘an offer they can’t refuse’
Zulqernain Tahir

LAHORE: The opposition parties seem to be struggling

nine-party alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the PPP on Saturday
agreed to accelerate their efforts to negotiate with the ruling party’s allies
on more ‘solid terms’ before announcing a date for tabling the no-confidence

While some elements in the opposition camp, especially

since they believe they have the required number of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf

North America
Ukraine Crisis, Expectedly, Caused Free Fall Of Trust
In US: Analysts
March 6, 2022
When Donald Trump in the election competition of 2016
talked about decline of the US power and image globally, capitalism's media
outlets dismissed his remarks as invalid and unjustified. But few in the
American political arena can deny this fact presently. Now more than ever Trump
and new right's view about the US fall as a hegemonic power looks more
acceptable.
Undoubtedly, Trump was right to say no one on the
world stage is counting on the US and the promises of its president anymore. He
was also well aware that, unlike in the past, European allies as well as US
rivals in the world system do not trust or fear the country.

CAIR-LA, Partners Welcome ‘Partial Victory’ in FBI v.
Fazaga After SCOTUS Rules Muslim Plaintiffs Can Still Pursue Religious
Discrimination Claims
Ibrahim Hooper
March 5, 2022
(LOS ANGELES, CA – 3/4/2022) – The Greater Los Angeles
Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA), the ACLU,
and UCLA’s Center for Immigration Law Policy today held a press conference in
response to the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Muslim surveillance case FBI
v. Fazaga.
Today, in a unanimous decision, SCOTUS refused to
endorse the federal government’s attempt to win dismissal of the religious
discrimination claims presented by Sheikh Fazaga, Ali Malik, and Yasser
AbdelRahim. Although the Supreme Court reversed the Ninth Circuit’s ruling that
those claims should be governed by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
(FISA), the Supreme Court sent the case back for the Ninth Circuit to decide
how the case will proceed. Its decision explicitly leaves open several paths to
victory for Americans who practice the Muslim faith and have suffered
unconstitutional surveillance because of their religion.

Gun ranges or mosques; weaponized zoning laws are
unconstitutional
By Ranjit Singh
Mar 05, 2022
Using zoning laws and local regulations to push out
gun ranges and stores is an old tactic of the Gun Grab Lobby. There are barely
two gun stores in New York, a city of 8.8 million; its oldest gun store closed
in 2020. The West Coast isn’t better; San Francisco lost its last gun shop in
2015.
Last year, in a big ruling in Drummond v Robinson
Township, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, using heightened
scrutiny, ruled in favor of the operator of a gun club that was put out of
business by a local government using weaponized zoning. Unfortunately, my hope
that it would teach a lesson to meddlesome local government officials has been
short-lived.
