Yati Narsinghanand, the head priest of Ghaziabad’s
Dasna Devi Temple and an accused in the Haridwar hate speech case, Sunday
exhorted Hindus to pick up arms and said that if India were to get a Muslim
Prime Minister, “50% of you (Hindus) will change your faith in the next 20
years”. He was speaking at Delhi’s Burari ground, where around 200 people had
gathered on Sunday to participate in a ‘Hindu Mahapanchayat’.
The event was organised by Preet Singh, founder of the
Save India Foundation. Singh was also one of the organisers of an event at
Jantar Mantar last year when anti-Muslim slogans were raised. He was arrested
by the Delhi Police in connection with that case and is currently out on bail.
Narsinghanand, too, is out on bail in connection with the Haridwar case.
Addressing the crowd, Narsinghanand also said that
“40% Hindus will be killed” if India were to get a Muslim PM. “This is the
future of Hindus. If you want to change this, be a man (Mard Bano). What is it
to be a man? Someone who is armed,” he said.
Delhi Police said the organisers did not have
permission to hold the event. According to Preet Singh’s Twitter account, the
event was planned as far back as January 4 this year.
Some journalists who had gone to cover the event
meanwhile alleged they were beaten up by members of the audience. Some of them
also alleged they were detained from the venue by the Delhi Police and taken to
the Mukherjee Nagar Police Station.
Delhi Police, however, denied the charge. “Some of the
reporters, willingly, on their own free will, to evade the restless crowd which
was getting agitated by their presence, sat in a PCR van stationed at the venue
and opted to proceed to the police station for security reasons. Nobody was
detained. Due police protection was provided,” said Usha Rangrani, DCP North
West.

The Pakistan National Assembly Deputy Speaker has
today (April 3) rejected the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran
Khan and has declared it unconstitutional. The Deputy Speaker said that it's
against the Constitution and the rules of Pakistan.
Imran Khan has now advised President to dissolve the
National Assembly and has called for fresh elections.
It is notable that Imran Khan's career was at stake as
a united opposition had tabled a no-confidence motion against the
cricketer-turned-politician for a parliamentary session today. If they remain
united, Khan is set to fall below the 172 votes needed to survive the
no-confidence vote.
Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad
in view of possible violence.
Stay tuned to Zee News to get the latest updates on
Imran Khan's no-confidence vote.
While acting upon the advice of Prime Minister Imran
Khan, President Arif Alvi has approved the removal of Mohammad Sarwar from the
position of Governor of Punjab and appointed Omar Sarfraz Cheema as Governor
Punjab, under Article 101 of the Constitution of Pakistan:
"Absolutely not. Whatever happened today, Army
has no role in it," said Babar Iftikhar, Director-General of
Inter-Services Public Relations, in response to a question on Dissolution of
"Imran Khan will save Pakistan...Whoever is

‘Something Very Big In Israel’ — TV
IDF soldiers are seen

2022. (Israel Defense Forces)
----

2 April 2022
A member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad cell killed
during a raid by Israeli security forces early Saturday had been on the Shin
Bet’s radar since firing at troops in the West Bank earlier this week, Israeli
television reported.
Saif Abu Libdeh, a 25-year-old resident of Tulkarm,
fired over 50 bullets at IDF troops patrolling along the so-called seam line on
Tuesday, according to Channel 12 news. No soldiers were hurt.
The network said the Shin Bet has been on Abu Libdeh’s
tail since and tracked him during a rally Friday in Jenin, where he appeared
armed with an M-16 rifle.
The unsourced report said security officials believe
he intended to carry out a killing spree similar to the recent terror attacks
in Beersheba, Hadera, and Bnei Brak, in which 11 people were killed in total.
Two other suspects — Khalil Twalba, 24, from Jenin,
and Saeb Abahara, 30, from nearby the village of Yamun — were killed during the
shootout with Israeli forces, which left four officers wounded, including one
seriously.
A fourth suspecter member of the cell was arrested
Saturday in the Palestinian town of Shuweika, near the West Bank city of
Tulkarem.
The Israel Defense Forces later released video showing
troops surrounding the suspect’s home before he attempted to flee. The military
said an M-16 rifle and ammunition were seized during the raid.
Officials have said the cell was on its way to carry
out an attack in Israel at the time of the arrest operation. Ahead of a meeting
Saturday evening with top Shin Bet officials, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett
said security forces foiled a “ticking time bomb.”
In response to the recent attacks, Israeli security
forces have been placed on heightened alert, with reinforcements sent to the
West Bank, seam line, and major cities. The escalation has come as the Muslim
holy month of Ramadan began — often a period of high tension in Israel and the
West Bank.
Israeli officials have sought to head off tensions
ahead of Ramadan amid fears that the violence could snowball into the same type
of unrest that rocked Israel in May 2021, when Hamas began shooting rockets
into Israel, sparking an 11-day war with Gaza and days of rioting between Arabs
and Jews inside Israel.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin Under Fire

The New Arab Staff
03 April, 2022
French interior minister Gerald Darmanin has come
under fire for a tweet in which he conveyed Ramadan greetings to France's
Muslim minority.
"I wish all Muslims in our country a happy
Ramadan," Darmanin said on Friday, the eve of the Muslim holy month.
Twitter users accused the minister of the country
which prides itself on secularism of hypocrisy.
Several asked why Darmanin had not tweeted greetings
for the Catholic holiday of Lent, which began on 2 March.
The minister also received criticism from some
Muslims, who pointed out that he last year pushed through an
"anti-separatism" bill that activists say targets France's Muslim
community.
"Coming from a minister who has fervently taken
part in the criminalisation, repression, and/or dissolution of a number of
Muslim figures and structures... it's damn cheeky," journalist and
activist Siham Assbague said in reply to Darmanin's tweet.
Some Twitter users accused Darmanin of trying to
appease French Muslims ahead of the country's elections.
The latest opinion polls showed France's centrist
leader Emmanuel Macron is losing ground to Marine Le Pen, a far-right candidate
who has expressed Islamophobic views.
Darmanin responded to the backlash for his tweet on
Saturday.
"Yesterday I wished a happy Ramadan to our Muslim
compatriots, and I'm proud of that," he said on Facebook.
"Since then, many comments, a bit racist, evoking
that I did not wish a happy birthday to Christians or Jews."
He produced a list of links to congratulatory messages
he had shared for Christian and Jewish holidays.
Darmanin - whose middle name is Moussa - is of
Algerian, Armenian, and Maltese descent.
He announced last month that he will be outlawing two
leading pro-Palestine NGOs, accusing them of "fuelling hatred".
