19 Jun, 2022
There is a growing call for millions of Hindus to be
expelled from Gulf countries in response to the ongoing brutality against
India's Muslim minority.
Tensions boiled over last month after Nupur Sharma, a
member of India's Hindu nationalist ruling party, made derogatory remarks about
the Prophet Mohammed.
Sharma, spokeswoman for Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
made televised remarks on May 26 about the youngest wife of the prophet of
Islam, which triggered demonstrations across the Islamic world.
The remarks set off diplomatic protests not only in
rival Pakistan but in wealthy Arab states that usually enjoy close relations
with India.
The party apologised and suspended Sharma as well as
Naveen Kumar Jindal, another figure who was accused of inflammatory tweets
about the Prophet Mohammed.
But many Muslim nations have seen this move from
India's government as lacklustre, particularly considering the brutal
retaliation against members of India's 200 million-strong Muslim minority that
took to the streets in protest.
Multiple demonstrators were killed, hundreds were
arrested and footage of protesters' homes being demolished in relation have
emerged online.
In response to the brutality, an Arabic hashtag began
trending on Twitter demanding all Hindus be expelled from Gulf countries, where
more than eight million Indian nationals live and work.
"Gulf countries can do more than condemnation,
Indian Muslims suffering under fascist regimes, we must stop the Anti-Muslim
genocide," they wrote.

MENA
June 19, 2022
CAIRO, June 18 (MENA) – Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El
Tayyeb called for considering the adequacy and efficacy of legislation and charters
on combating intolerance and hatred and ensuring guarantees to adhere to them
in light of the offensive remarks made by the spokesman of the Indian ruling
party against Muslims and Prophet Muhammad.
Tayyeb’s call came on Saturday in a post published on
Facebook and a tweet on Twitter on the occasion of the International Day for
Countering Hate Speech.
The grand imam noted that the international day comes
in conjunction with the increase in waves of intolerance and hatred against
Muslims and the mocking of their religious symbols and sanctities.

Islamic State Says Attack On Sikh Temple In
Afghanistan Is Revenge For Prophet Insults By India’s Ruling Party Members
A Taliban fighter guards a Sikh temple following an
attack by gunmen in Kabul on June 18, 2022.
----
by Sahar Akbarzai
June 19, 2022
(CNN)An Islamic State affiliate has claimed
responsibility for an attack on a Sikh temple in Afghanistan's capital Kabul
that killed at least two people and injured seven.
The attack on Saturday was "an act of
revenge" following insults made by members of India's ruling Bharatiya
Janata Party about the Prophet Mohammed, ISIS-Khorasan said on its Telegram
channel.
Nupur Sharma, a spokesperson for the party, had made
derogatory remarks regarding the Prophet Mohammed during a panel discussion on
a news channel and her comments were allegedly followed by anti-Islam comments
by another party leader on Twitter.
Seven gunmen had tried to storm the temple in the
early hours of Saturday morning and all were killed after a standoff that
lasted several hours, according to Kabul police.
ISIS-K said in its Telegram post that its suicide
bomber Abu Muhammad al-Tajik had gained entry to the temple by throwing a hand
grenade at the security guard officer at the entrance, killing him.
ISIS-K also claimed its members had clashed with
Taliban government fighters trying to reach the temple, targeting them with a
car bomb and four other explosive devices.
It said the clashes between ISIS-K and the Taliban
fighters had lasted three hours and that the suicide bomber al-Tajik had died
in these exchanges.
"The IEA [Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan]
strongly condemns the targeting of the Hindu shrine in Kabul by the enemies of
the Afghan people. The IEA expresses its condolences to the families of the
victims and assures that serious measures will be taken to identify and punish
the perpetrators of this crime," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid,
tweeted referring to the Sikh temple.
Afghanistan, once home to tens of thousands of Sikhs
and Hindus, has seen numerous attacks on religious minority groups since the
Taliban took control of the country in 2021, following the withdrawal of US
forces.
Last year, ISIS claimed another attack against the
Sikh community that killed more than two dozen people at another temple in Kabul.
Saturday's attack comes amid growing outrage in the
Muslim world towards India for the comments by the BJP members and New Delhi is
struggling to contain the diplomatic fallout from Muslim-majority nations like
the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Oman and Iraq.
The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA)
condemned the most recent attack, calling on Twitter for the "protection
of all minorities in Afghanistan, including Sikhs, Hazaras and Sufis."
The European Union Ambassador to Afghanistan also condemned
the attack, saying "religious (and ethnic) pluralism needs to be protected
with full force."
India's Foreign Ministry said it was "deeply
concerned at the reports emanating from Kabul about an attack on a sacred
Gurdwara in that city."

Imam Speaks Out After A Blackburn Worker Who Disposes

Imam speaks out after worker who disposes Islamic
Literature ‘confronted’ in street
-----
17th June,2022
An imam has spoken out after a Blackburn man who
collects and safely disposes of sacred Islamic texts was "confronted"
in a street in Birmingham.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 11, when the
worker from the Islamic Literature Collection organisation was stopped by
several men during one of his collections in the West Midlands.
A Blackburn Imam has now also spoken out saying he has
"inspected the work" and "all items are correctly disposed of in
accordance with Shariah (Islamic) law".
The Islamic Literature Service travels to locations
across the country and people can hand over their old books and other scared
texts for safe disposal or redistribution. For this, the organisation charges
£2.50 per kg.
In a TikTok video shared extensively and posted this
week, a man can be seen asking a worker from the Islamic Literature Collection
service what he does with sacred texts.
Not content with the answer the man, who it is
believed from another organisation from Halifax which carries out a similar
service, asks "where it is buried?" to which the worker says he is
"unable to divulge".
The worker says he has "nothing to hide" and
"does not want to argue," and says his organisation tells people
"if you trust us then use the service".
A further video sees a heated exchange with the man,
named as Khurshid, following the worker who says "you cannot say anything
without any evidence".
A message posted by Mufti Abdullah Bismillah, Imam of
Masjide Noorul Islam, Audley Range, Blackburn was shared this week and
responded to the allegations made in the TikTok videos.
He said: “I have inspected the work undertaken by
Islamic Literature Collection and can confirm all items are correctly disposed
of in accordance with shariah (Islamic Law).
He told us: “All I wanted to know was where the
literature is buried. This was my question. And if you wish to give them to us
we can bury them for you.”

19-06-2022
(Bloomberg) -- United Nations experts warned of
growing communication between the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant region
and an Islamist rebel group in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo known as
the Allied Defence Forces, or ADF.
Despite joint military operations against the group by
the Congolese and Ugandan armies since November, the ADF has expanded its area
of operations in gold and oil-rich Ituri province over the past year, the UN’s
group of experts on Congo said in their annual report published Friday.
Communication between the Islamic State and the ADF
“strengthened” during this time, though the experts could not document “direct
support to and command and control over ADF.” The report warned that recruiters
for the rebels were active throughout central Africa, “in particular along the
Kenyan and Tanzanian coastlines and in Burundi.”
The ADF, which originated in Uganda more than two
decades ago, has been linked to the death of more than 1,300 people since 2021,
according to the UN, along with multiple bombings and attempted bombings in
Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. The group has also stepped up its use of suicide
attacks, sophisticated explosive devices and violent propaganda videos, the
report said.
The insecurity has disrupted rehabilitation work on
important trade routes connecting Uganda and northeastern Congo, which prompted
the increased military cooperation between the two countries last year,
according to the report.

Muhammad Ali's 1972 journey to Islam and Hajj
James Langton
Jun 19, 2022
There was an unmistakable face among the hundreds of
thousands of pilgrims who made the journey to Makkah for Hajj in 1972.
Wearing the simple white cotton robes worn by all men
who carry out the pilgrimage was Muhammad Ali. The self-styled greatest
heavyweight boxing champion of the world was instantly recognisable, even to
those with little interest in the sport.
That image should have represented the high point of
Ali’s spiritual journey, the pilgrimage to Makkah that all able Muslims are
required to perform and one of the five pillars of Islam.

Islamic State claims responsibility for Kabul
gurudwara attack
Web Desk
June 19, 2022
The IS (Islamic State) claimed responsibility for an
attack on a Gurdwara in Afghanistan, saying it was retaliation for 'insults' to
the Prophet Mohammed, news agency AFP reported. In a message posted on its Amaq
propaganda site, ISIS said Saturday's attack targeted Hindus and Sikhs and the
"apostates" who protected them in "an act of support for the
Messenger of Allah". The group said one of its fighters "penetrated a
temple for Hindu and Sikh polytheists in Kabul, after killing its guard, and
opened fire on the pagans inside with his machine gun and hand grenades".
Several blasts tore through a gurdwara in Kabul on
Saturday, killing two persons, including a Sikh, and injuring seven others,
while Afghan security personnel thwarted a bigger tragedy by stopping an
explosive-laden vehicle from reaching the place of worship of the minority
community in the war-torn country.

Chuvash Muslims Promoting Expanded Version of National

Staunton, June 1 – A group of Chuvash Muslims is
promoting a new kind of identity among their nationality, broader than the
traditional Moscow-promoted one of descent from parentage but narrower and more
culturally defined than the identities many Muslim neophytes adopt.
That has led it to be attacked both by Chuvash

Chuvash nation and by Chuvash Muslims who reject the idea that they should be
ethnically defined at all, but this stance has opened the way to the inclusion

Donald J. Trump.
