Masterton Church Attacks: Jews, Christians, And Muslims Stand Together

23 February 2025

The Wellington Abrahamic Council of Jews, Christians, and Muslims were greatly saddened by the news of arson attacks at four churches in Masterton yesterday morning. Our prayers go out for our Christian sisters and brothers at the Anglican Church Of The Epiphany, St Patrick’s Catholic Church Masterton, Masterton Baptist Church and Equippers Church Masterton. We are here for you.

Jews, Christians, and Muslims stand together against religious extremism, as we have said in our October 2023 statement rejecting all forms of hate and bigotry. Our diverse religions present different pathways to spiritual enlightenment. The destruction of places of worship is an attack on all of us. Let us work together for an Aotearoa New Zealand where we can all peacefully practice our religions.

India considering accepting Taliban Ambassador amid rising Chinese influence in Afghanistan: Bloomberg

By Fidel Rahmati

February 22, 2025

Bloomberg has reported that India, in response to China’s growing influence in Afghanistan, is cautiously considering accepting a Taliban representative as the ambassador to the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi.

This move by India comes as part of a competitive effort to counter China’s influence in the region, and India is currently exploring various avenues to re-establish its relationship with the Taliban. Diplomatic sources have informed the media that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs is consulting and negotiating on the possibility of accepting Taliban diplomats at the Afghanistan Embassy in India.

“India’s government is expected to accept a top Taliban representative to the country soon, the latest step from New Delhi to improve ties with  Kabul and counter China’s growing influence in Afghanistan,” the report stated.

According to the report, Najib Shaheen, the son of Sohail Shaheen, the Taliban’s ambassador in Qatar, has been introduced as a potential candidate for this post.

According to the information, the Taliban plans to send a small delegation to New Delhi as a first step to assess the embassy’s situation. Najib Shaheen and Shaukat Dawlatzai, another prominent figure from the Taliban, have been named as the main candidates for the position of Taliban’s ambassador to India.

Before 2021, India was involved in over 500 development projects in Afghanistan. However, after the Taliban took control, India severed ties with the group and closed its embassy in Kabul. In recent months, while political interactions between the Taliban and India have begun, India has continued to reduce its humanitarian aid and has halted visas for Afghanistan’s patients and students.

Following the collapse of the previous Afghanistan government, former Ambassador Farid Mamundzai resigned due to pressures from the Taliban and direct contacts between the Indian government and the Taliban. Currently, Syed Mohammad Ibrahimkhil, the Afghanistan Consul General in Hyderabad, has taken over the responsibility of the embassy, with the approval of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

India’s cautious steps toward engaging with the Taliban reflect its strategic considerations in balancing regional influence, particularly in light of China’s growing presence in Afghanistan. As India navigates this delicate diplomatic situation, the future of Afghanistan-India relations and the Taliban’s representation in India remain pivotal in shaping the regional dynamics.

Nasrallah symbol of dignity for the Islamic Ummah: Ghalibaf

Feb 23, 2025

TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has termed the late Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a symbol of dignity for the Islamic Ummah, the Muslim world, and the Resistance Front.

Emphasizing that today marks a historic moment for the Resistance Front, the Muslim Ummah, and the people of Lebanon, Ghalibaf said that despite all obstacles, Muslims from different countries—especially Iran—have arrived in Beirut to take part in the funeral ceremony, demonstrating solidarity with the Resistance.

Ghalibaf also stated that this visit will serve as an opportunity to enhance bilateral relations, with scheduled meetings between the Iranian delegation and Lebanese high-ranking officials.

UP: Mosque demolished in Meerut to make way for RRTS Corridor

February 22, 2025

According to authorities, the mosque was causing obstruction in the progress of the Rapid Rail project, prompting the decision to remove it. (Express File Photo)

------------

A decades-old mosque located on Delhi Road in Meerut was demolished to make way for the construction of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor.

The demolition was carried out with the consent of the local Muslim community after consultations with officials and the mosque’s management, officials said.

According to authorities, the mosque was causing obstruction in the progress of the Rapid Rail project, prompting the decision to remove it.

The process began with members of the Muslim community using hammers to dismantle parts of the mosque on Thursday. Later, when most of the structure had been taken down, the administration used a bulldozer to complete the demolition in the late hours of the night. The debris was also cleared during this time.

In a statement to PTI, Additional District Magistrate (City) Brijesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the mosque’s removal was carried out with mutual agreement.

“The Muslim community took the initiative in removing the mosque, and I facilitated discussions with them, alongside officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). However, the removal was done only with the consent of the Muslim community,” Singh said.

Haji Swale Heen, a representative from the mosque, said, “We removed the mosque on our own, but we possess documents from 1857 that prove the historicity of this mosque.” When asked about the mosque’s age, Singh mentioned that there were varying opinions among locals, with some claiming it was around 80 years old and others saying it could be as old as 168 years.

On the matter of relocating the mosque, Singh clarified that no alternative land has been provided to the community and no such request was made by them.

Advisor to Leader of Islamic Revolution: America will deal with "Israel" as it dealt with Ukraine

23 Feb 2025

Tehran - Saba:Ali Akbar Velayati, Advisor for International Affairs to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said during his meeting with Ziad al-Nakhala, Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, that America will repeat with the occupying entity what it did with Ukraine and Europe.

Tasnim International News Agency reported today, Saturday, that Velayati congratulated the Palestinian resistance and Hamas movement on their recent victories in Gaza, considering these achievements as evidence of the strong will of the Palestinian people and the ability of the axis of resistance to confront the Zionist entity, and a source of hope for liberating the occupied territories and restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Velayati pointed out that the axis of resistance is still the effective and determining force in the region despite the recent developments, stressing that America remains the greatest enemy of the resistance.

Becoming Jewish During Dangerous Times

By Rabbi Allen S. Maller

February 23, 2025

President Donald Trump picked Morgan Ortagus as a deputy to Steve Witkoff, his special envoy to the Middle East. During Trump’s first term, Morgan Ortagus was part of the team working on the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and four Arab nations. Morgan Ortagus, a former evangelical converted to Judaism in 2007. Donald Trump’s daughter is also a convert to Judaism.

More people in Israel have chosen to undergo conversions to Judaism through the Reform movement, and increasingly so after the Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023.

Jeannie Suk Gersen writes in the New Yorker Magazine (12/2/2024) “I was raised in a Korean American evangelical church, where people spoke in tongues as the Holy Spirit moved them. My Bible teacher referred to me as “devil’s spawn” because I had a habit of picking arguments with Scripture. (Eve’s lust for knowledge wasn’t sinful, I remember declaring; God’s curse on humankind was an overreaction.) By the time I reached adulthood, I’d developed an emphatically rationalist world view, which for a while I thought precluded religion. But I nurtured a nascent affinity for Judaism, born of both disposition and circumstance.

My father, a physician, did his medical residency at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, where his department chief was an Orthodox Jew, and he’d occasionally serve as a “Shabbos goy,” turning on lights for a (Orthodox) religious doctor on the Sabbath. Like many devout (Protestant) Christians, my mother was fascinated with Israel, and she visited Israel often.

In 2023, on Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, my friend Rabbi Angela Warnick Buchdahl of Central Synagogue, a Reform congregation in New York City, gave a sermon focussed on atoning for the “sin of passing judgment,” and in particular judgment of intermarriage. Rabbi Buchdahl has a Jewish American father and a Korean Buddhist mother. I’ve known her since we attended college together, in the nineteen-nineties, when she already seemed poised to become the first East Asian American Jew ordained as a rabbi. She reached that milestone in 2001, and has built a robust following within her congregation and beyond. I live-streamed her Yom Kippur sermon from my home in Cambridge.

Rabbi Buchdahl related that Ruth married an Israelite and, when she was later widowed, told her mother-in-law, Naomi, “Wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you stay, I will stay. Your people are my people, your God, my God.” Ruth became the great-grandmother of King David, an ancestor of the future Jewish Messiah. As Buchdahl later put it to me, “We’ve been a mixed multitude all along.”

Plus, in her experience—contra fears about conversion “diluting” Judaism—those who join the faith often “make their Jewish spouses more Jewish.” Buchdahl invoked Rabbi Alexander Schindler, a former leader of the American Reform movement, who made the front page of the Times in 1978, when he pressed Jews to seek converts.

Proselytizing is often understood to be anathema to Judaism, but Buchdahl told her congregants, “Throughout Jewish history, you should know, whenever Jews felt safe, we sought new adherents. This moment in America should be such a time.”

Two weeks later came October 7th. Hamas invaded Israel, massacring some twelve hundred people and kidnapping two hundred and fifty more. Israel, in turn, launched a devastating war in Gaza. Around the world, anti-Israel protests erupted, and antisemitism spiked; many Jews faced a fresh reckoning with the relationship between Israel and Jewish identity. It was a time of fear, dread and painful fractures within the Jewish community. Yet rabbis from a broad range of Jewish institutions observed something they hadn’t anticipated: a surge of interest in Judaism.

Elliot Cosgrove, a Conservative rabbi and the author of the new book “For Such a Time as This: On Being Jewish Today,” told me that since October 7th he’s seen engagement from “within and beyond the boundaries of the conventional Jewish community” at a level he’s never before witnessed. This has included increased synagogue membership, expanded enrollment in Hebrew-school programs, full houses at Shabbat services—and oversubscribed courses for people interested in becoming Jewish.

Suddenly, my own halting path to conversion was meeting a larger movement. At Central Synagogue, another rabbi, Lisa Rubin, runs the Center for Exploring Judaism, which educates and guides Jewish-curious newcomers. Since October 7th, the program’s courses have enrolled double the usual number of students and accrued a seven-month waiting list. Rabbi Rubin told me that she has warned potential converts that “this is not a great time to be stepping into Judaism.” Still, as she put it, “They’re running toward the house on fire.”

Judaism is not only a faith but a tribe, a culture, and a lifestyle, and the motivations behind conversion are as varied as Jewishness itself. I spoke to converts who had always suspected that they had Jewish ancestry. Deb Kroll, a woman in her early seventies, grew up in the Bible Belt with parents who became Pentecostal leaders, but when she was a child her Christian grandmother told stories of her family fleeing at night from a county where the Ku Klux Klan was active, soon after the lynching of Leo Frank. Kroll remembers thinking, I’m a little Jewish girl who’s been born into the wrong family.

For most of her life, she didn’t realize that it was even possible to convert to Judaism. Then, in recent years, Kroll said, DNA testing of relatives suggested that she had significant Jewish ancestry on both sides. She was studying in Rubin’s program online from her home, in Georgia, when the events of October 7th occurred. “I thought, Well, I’m not going to stop my Jewish journey out of fear,” she recalled, adding, “I throw in my lot with the Jewish people.”

As a Reform Rabbi I would add that this desire to become Jewish, or become more Jewish, in a time of danger is due to hope which is not just a feeling or an emotion, but also a virtue and a Mitzvah.  Hope that goes back to the Exodus when non-Jews (a mixed multitude) joined those Jews who were leaving Egypt. Exodus 12:38-39 states: “And a mixed multitude went up with them”. The term “Mixed Multitude” refers to a diverse group of people who accompanied the Israelites during the Exodus from Egypt.

According to most Kabbalist (mystic) Rabbis all true converts have Jewish ancestors that also were at Sinai. The Kabalistic (mystical) book Sha’ar HaGilgulim written by Rabbi Chaim Vital Calabrese states that when Josef was in charge of distribution of grain, millions of Egyptians converted to the faith of Josef’s father Jacob-Israel. These people, who would come to be called the erev rav (a mixed multitude), lived in Israelite villages and followed Israelite practices. Many Israelite souls were included among these Egyptian people, including – most significantly – the soul of the Messiah (Ben Joseph).

According to Rabbi Issac Luria, Eliezer, the  servant of  Abraham was a Canaanite who due to his  righteousness, merited to be reincarnated  in the days of Moses within the tribe  of  Yehuda. Eliezer reincarnated as Caleb Ben Yefuneh. His soul later incarnated higher and higher until he became a High Priest (Zecharia, the High Priest) and many centuries later a Master Kabbalist (Rabbi Moshe Cordevero). (See Sha’ar HaPesukim of the Ari’)

Also in Persia, as the Book of Esther recorded: “Many people of other nationalities became Jews because ‘awe of Jews’ had seized them.”  (Esther 8:17) Since Jewish survival is part of the miracle of Jewish life; and conversion in a time or place of danger is awesome according to the Bible, Jews should never discourage converts at such times.

According to Kabbalah, only the souls of self conscious moral creatures like human beings reincarnate; and they reincarnate only when they have not fulfilled the purpose of their creation.

Since Judaism is an optimistic religion, most Kabbalists teach that most people can accomplish their life’s purpose in one or two lifetimes.

A few souls may take 3-5 lifetimes or more. The bright souls of great religious figures like Moses or Miriam can turn into dozens of sparks that can reincarnate several times.

The tragic souls of Jews whose children have been cut off from the Jewish people, either through persecution or forced conversion to another religion, will reincarnate as one of their own no longer Jewish descendants. These descendant souls will seek to return to the Jewish people.

A majority of people who end up converting (or reverting) to Judaism and the Jewish people have Jewish souls from one of their own ancestors.

Thus, the Jewish mystical tradition, claims that the souls of most converts to Judaism are the reincarnated souls of Jews in previous generations that were cut off from the Jewish people.

Sometimes these souls are descendants of Jews who were part of whole communities that were cut off, like the Marranos in Spain. Other times they are descendants of individual Jews who married out and did not raise their children as self identifying faithful Jews.

Other people who become Jewish do not know of a specific Jew who was an ancestor but come from a population that contains the descendants of past Jewish communities.

Millions of Spanish and Portuguese speakers are descendants of Jews who were forcibly baptized during the 15th century. In 1391 there were anti-Jewish riots in several Spanish cities. Thousands of Jews were forcibly baptized. The Roman Catholic Church viewed these forced baptisms as valid because the Spanish Jews had freely chosen baptism over death, unlike the Jews of France and Germany during the first and second crusades, who chose to kill themselves rather than be baptized. Over the next three generations there were additional riots that led to more forcible baptisms.

Of course, Jews forced to become Christians didn’t stop believing in Judaism, but they had to practice Judaism and teach their children in secret. The Church knew this but thought that all the children and grandchildren of the Marranos (as the secret Jews were called) would be indoctrinated in the true faith and become believers. This did not happen.

In 1480 the Inquisition began holding trials in Spain. Over the next two centuries thousands would be tried/tortured, and imprisoned or executed.

In 1497, they again were expelled from Portugal, but first all their children were forcibly baptized, so parents who didn’t want to lose their children had to freely choose baptism.

In later decades many of these secret Jews and their children came to the new world seeking freedom so the Inquisition was established in Lima in 1570 and in Mexico City in 1571.

Secret Jews fled to all parts of central and south America to escape. (see: A History of the Marranos by Cecil Roth). Most of these people have Jewish souls and are now returning to the Jewish people.

In Recife Brazil, at least 400 people with Sephardic Jewish ancestry have undergone Orthodox conversions to Judaism. “Twenty years ago, the return to Judaism was a dream. Now it’s simply our reality,” said Jefferson Martins dos Santos, president of Recife’s Aboab de Fonseca synagogue, one of the two new congregations. Over the past decade, more than a dozen congregations like it have been established across Brazil’s north.

Members of these new communities call themselves “bneianusim” —”children of the forcibly converted” from Judaism to Christianity. TheBrazilian state of Pernambuco for a while had been a haven for many Portuguese and Spanish Jews because it was controlled by the relatively tolerant Dutch from 1630 to 1654.

But when the Dutch left, their colony was taken over by Portugal, which enforced the Inquisition. Many Sephardic Jews fled with the Dutch to the Netherlands, and one shipload landed in New Amsterdam.

While many Jews left by 1655, many others stayed and continued to practice Judaism in secret, becoming crypto-Jews. But their families became Catholic as the centuries passed. Still, in villages in northern Brazil, some Jewish customs prevailed, including covering mirrors at a deceased person’s home.

Decades later many secret Jews, or their children, found freedom in the new world. When the Inquisition was established in Lima (1570) and in Mexico City (1571) most secret Jews fled to all parts of central and south America to escape.

Other secret Jews in Spain, Portugal, Holland and France became importers of Asian spices and other goods; and married Asian women whose grandchildren and great grandchildren were absorbed into the local Asian populations. These descendants are also now returning home by becoming Jewish.

Karachi to face another major water crisis as KWSC starts line repair work

Tahir Siddiqui

February 23, 2025

KARACHI: The sole water utility of the city on Saturday advised people to store water in advance and use the commodity carefully as there would be an around 40 per cent shortfall in the regular supply for the next three days.

Major localities in almost every Karachi districts — South, Keamari, West, Korangi, Malir, East and Central — would face water shortages because of repair work on two major supply lines in the city.

A spokesman for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation said that the city received a total daily supply of 650 MGD (million gallons per day), but due to some repair work, the city would face a shortage of 250 MGD.

He said that during the repair work, water supply would be partially affected in old city area, Shershah, PAF Base Masroor, Landhi, Korangi, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Pak Colony, Gulbahar, etc.

He explained that repair work on the FTM 48-inch diameter and CTM 54-inch diameter pipelines began on Saturday and expected to be completed within 72 hours. The spokesman said that once the repair work was finished, the city’s water supply would improve significantly.

According to him, repair work will be carried out in affected areas, including Manzoor Goth, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, and Peeli Kothi in Liaquatabad.

The spokesman said that the KWSC Managing Director Asadullah Khan had directed that uninterrupted water supply be ensured across the city during Ramazan.

It may be recalled that recently the city had faced multiple water crises which persisted for weeks due to the leakage of an underground main line on University Road twice.

Uneducated pastors will remain in the bush- Prophet Oyedele

by Adeola Ogunlade

February 23, 2025

Apostle (Prophet) Ezekiel Oyediran Oyedele, is a revered 89-year-old man of God, serving as the Apostolic Father and Spiritual Head of the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church (CGAC) worldwide. In this interview with ADEOLA OGUNLADE, he reflects on his ministry journey, his experiences with Prophet Joseph Babalola, the significance of education for pastors, and the upcoming church anniversary.

I was dedicated to the Lord at the age of four in 1940 and was mentored by distinguished men of God, particularly the late Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola and the late Apostle Peter Akinloye Olatunji. Apostle Olatunji later founded CGAC, an offshoot of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in 1947.

In obedience to divine direction, I established a new zone of CGAC, named CGAC (Miracle Center), in March 1996. The church’s zonal headquarters is in Lagos, with over 20 assemblies under it.

The early years of ministry were marked by intense persecution, especially in the late 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Many of us faced hardships, forsaking family and material comforts for the gospel. We were deeply committed, often neglecting our own well-being. I personally suffered from a wound that refused to heal for four years. I was privileged to be taken to Abule-Osho to pastor a church in 1955, I trekked to Dugbe and I bought what they called Ade-elegbo. I only applied it to my leg in the night when everybody had slept. None of the people in the mission house must smell it because anyone who gave birth outside of the church maternity home, the couple would have their naming ceremony done in the church. Despite the challenges, we remained steadfast. The elders then, though strict, were guided by their understanding of faith. Today, one of my children is a medical doctor, and another is a lecturer, demonstrating the value of education alongside ministry.

Prophet Joseph Babalola was a man of fervent prayer and extraordinary generosity. He often fasted for extended periods. One remarkable incident I recall is when he laid on stones in front of the church in Efon- Alaye for three days, praying for God’s mercy upon the CAC.

Despite exposure to the sun, he remained steadfast. When I was young, I asked the elders, and they said that he was praying for mercy for the CAC. His deep spirituality left a lasting impact.

Throughout my ministry, I have encountered spiritual battles, often challenging witches and wizards to test whose power is greater. Many witches and wizards who came to challenge the power of God were ultimately humbled by God’s power. My experience with great men of God gave us so much confidence to preach Christ and the power of redemption in dangerous territories. The presence of God was tangible, and holiness was our foundation.

We left the CAC in 1947; with the prophet I was placed under. Prophet Peter Olatunji left after a sharp disagreement between the founders of the CAC, and that matter was not resolved, he decided to stand on his own. That led to the establishment of the church, formerly called the Gospel Apostle Church and upon registration in 1963, GAC already existed, and we prayed and thought through the name and we only added Christ which now made it called Christ Gospel Apostolic Church (CGAC). I was ordained the Apostle and President of CGAC on the 1st of November 2014.

Education is essential for today’s pastors. In my church, we now have a president with a master’s degree, capable of representing us effectively. The gospel remains unchanged, but we must understand the needs of the current generation. We have a different generation now and we have to be mindful of the needs and aspirations of the same generation without watering down the gospel message handed down to us.

Moses was educated and the disciples of Jesus were not as educated but their impact was global. A pastor who is not different from his members or does not have anything significant doing, will remain in the bush. A few years ago, one of our children died in Isolo, Lagos. They were praying for him; I had gone for a follow-up of our members. When I came back, the child had been confirmed dead and I was led by the spirit of God to pray for him, I did not spend up to 20 minutes, and the boy woke up. These incidents led many to Christ and they joined our church. If you are not educated and not making progress, we will throw you into the bush. You can farm there too. The uneducated and unenlightened pastor cannot expect us to bring him to the city. If anyone is sure of God’s call, God will manifest himself, but that does undermine the need for self-improvement. God will always manifest himself. I visited the US some time ago and I met a colleague who is uneducated but has since been in the US because the church over there was less concerned about his prowess but the anointing of God upon his life. He prays for them in his local dialects and God honours his prayers. Pastor Paul Obadare, was a blind man with only form three education, but is so vast in the scriptures that he often quotes the scriptures by heart, and corrects people when they misquote the bible. He was awarded a doctorate from the United States of America. When you are uneducated, you cannot stay with the elites as you will confuse them.

Yes, I have been in ministry since 1940, and I had a Western education, but I kept asking questions and developing myself. I went to the US and the church said they were not interested in how fluent you are, I went to 13 states in the US with churches filled to capacity. I minister Christ to them and the power of the cross moved in a mighty way.

It is a sad tale today that some pastors are money-conscious and are so bad that in some churches if you do not give to the church, getting to heaven is not guaranteed. Decades ago, heaven was our major focus. Our hopes were heaven, today, we are world-conscious. Today’s pastor wants to build houses, buy cars and other mundane things. In those days, we were mindful of heaven to the extent that if we conducted services this Sunday, we were not sure of next week’s Sunday because Christ would have come. At that time, we were giving up anything and everything for the work of the kingdom. To some, they are living their lives as if Christ will not return. Jesus is coming back again.

During my annual prayer dedication in 2025, God gave me a message for Nigeria. The nation faces economic, political, and social challenges, including rising poverty, unemployment, corruption, and inequality. However, God assures us that Nigeria can be restored if we embrace repentance, unity, and progress.

God previously revealed to me the economic hardship that began in 2013 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. Now, he calls the nation to a three-day fasting and prayer from February 24–26, 2025, culminating in our church anniversary on March 2, 2025.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” This call to prayer is for all Nigerians, regardless of religion.

'Koran says nothing on homosexuals' Gay imam wants Islamic Reformation

By Neil Mackay

23-02-2025

I SPENT my childhood with a father who told me that I was just a sissy, a pussy, a crybaby. My father often used to tell me, in front of the whole family, that he’d rather break my back and bury me alive than see me become like that.”

President Macron has condemned the incident, unequivocally labelling it an "Islamist terrorist act" and reaffirming the nation's commitment to eradicating terrorism.

The assault occurred around 4:00 PM local time near the Covered Market in Mulhouse, coinciding with a demonstration supporting the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sunday of the Last Judgement (Meatfare Sunday)

Feb 23, 2025

The Sunday of the Last Judgment is the third Sunday of a three-week period prior to the commencement of Great Lent. During this time, the services of the Church have begun to include hymns from the Triodion, a liturgical book that contains the services from the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee, the tenth before Pascha (Easter), through Great and Holy Saturday. On this day, focus is placed on the future judgment of all persons who will stand before the throne of God when Christ returns in His glory.

The commemoration for this Sunday is taken from the parable of our Lord Jesus Christ concerning his Second Coming and the Last Judgment of all, both the living and the dead. In Matthew 25:31-46, Christ speaks about what will happen at this specific point in time when He will “come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him” (v. 31).

At His coming, “He will sit on the throne of His glory,” and all of the nations will be gathered before Him. He will separate them “as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats” (v. 32). The sheep will be placed on His right hand, and the goats on the left.

To the sheep, He will say “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (vv. 33-34)

This kingdom is offered to the sheep because of their compassion and service to those in need. Jesus says, “…for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”

The sheep, who are the righteous chosen for the kingdom, will ask how this could be so.They will ask Jesus when was He hungry or thirsty, a stranger, naked, and in prison. He will answer them by saying, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to the least of these My brethren, you did it to me” (vv. 35-40).

Christ the King, seated on His throne of judgment, will then turn to the goats on His left and say, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (v. 41). He will condemn them because they did not feed Him when He was hungry, give Him drink when He was thirsty, take Him in when He was a stranger, clothe Him when He was naked, visit Him when He was sick or in prison.

The goats will ask the Lord, “When did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?” Then He will answer them saying, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me” (vv. 42-45).

Jesus concludes His words on the Last Judgment by stating that those on the left “will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (v. 46).

On the past two Sundays of this pre-Lenten period, the focus was placed on God’s patience and limitless compassion, of His readiness to accept every sinner who returns to Him. On this third Sunday, we are powerfully reminded of a complementary truth: no one is so patient and so merciful as God, but even He does not forgive those who do not repent. The God of love is also a God of righteousness, and when Christ comes again in glory, He will come as our Judge. Such is the message of Lent to each of us: turn back while there is still time, repent before the End comes.

This Sunday sets before us the eschatological dimension of Lent: the Great Fast is a preparation for the Second Coming of the Savior, for the eternal Passover in the Age to Come, a theme that is also the focus of the first three days of Holy Week. But the judgment is not only in the future. Here and now, each day and each hour, in hardening our hearts toward others and in failing to respond to the opportunities we are given of helping them, we are already passing judgment on ourselves.

Another theme of this Sunday is that of love. When Christ comes to judge us, what will be the criterion of His judgment? The parable of the Last Judgment answers: love—not a mere humanitarian concern for abstract justice and the anonymous “poor,” but concrete and personal love for the human person—the specific persons that we encounter each day in our lives.

Christian love is the “possible impossibility” to see Christ in another person, whoever he or she is, and whom God, in His eternal and mysterious plan, has decided to introduce into my life, be it only for a few moments, not as an occasion for a “good deed” or an exercise in philanthropy, but as the beginning of an eternal companionship in God Himself.

The parable of the Last Judgment is about Christian love. Not all of us are called to work for “humanity,” yet each one of us has received the gift and the grace of Christ’s love. We know that all persons ultimately need this personal love—the recognition in them of their unique soul in which the beauty of the whole creation is reflected in a unique way. We also know that people are in prison and are sick and thirsty and hungry because that personal love has been denied them. And, finally, we know that however narrow and limited the framework of our personal existence, each one of us has been made responsible for a tiny part of the Kingdom of God, made responsible by that very gift of Christ’s love. Thus, on whether or not we have accepted this responsibility, on whether we have loved or refused to love, shall we be judged.

Hundreds pack out Blackburn mosque for official opening

By Shuiab Khan

23-02-2025

A Blackburn mosque and community hub which is home to a first of its kind Islamic museum has opened to the public.

Hundreds of people from across Lancashire and the North West packed into the new Al-Buraq masjid on Saturday for the first time as it held its official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Crowds gathered on Devonport Road at around midday and soon hundreds were thronging the entrance. Soon after, mosque elders joined volunteers at the official opening.

Funds for the mosque had been raised through a series of sponsored walks and treks and donations from the local community over a seven-year period.

The new building replaces the Islamic Education Centre on the corner of Addison Street as the community’s focal point for prayers and religious activities.

Visitors were greeted with glorious sunshine as they made their way through an alleyway to the building which takes up spare land behind rows of terraced homes.

Germans go to vote under shadow of far-right surge, Trump

Feb 23, 2025

BERLIN: German voters head to the polls on Sunday, with the conservatives the strong favourites after a campaign rocked by a far-right surge and the dramatic return of US President Donald Trump.

Frontrunner Friedrich Merz has vowed a tough rightward shift if elected to win back voters from the far-right anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD), which is eyeing a record result after a string of deadly attacks blamed on asylum seekers.

If he takes over from embattled centre-left Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as widely predicted given a yawning poll gap, the CDU leader has promised a "strong voice" in Europe at a time of chaotic disruption.

The pivotal vote in the European Union's biggest economy comes amid tectonic upheaval in US-Europe ties sparked by Trump's direct outreach to Russian President Vladimir Putin over their heads to end the Ukraine war.

Across Europe, NATO allies worry about the future of the alliance, nowhere more than in Germany which grew prosperous under the US-led security umbrella.

However, it may take Merz many weeks to negotiate a coalition government, spelling yet more political paralysis in Berlin during such fraught time.

In a strange twist to the polarised campaign, the AfD has basked in the glowing support lavished on it by Trump's entourage, with billionaire Elon Musk touting it as the only party to "save Germany".

Trump, asked about the elections in Germany, which he has berated over its trade, migration and defence policies, said dismissively that "I wish them luck, we got our own problems".

Merz, in his final CDU/CSU campaign event in Munich on Saturday, said Europe needed to walk tall to be able to "sit at the main table" of the world powers.

Voicing strong confidence, the 69-year-old former investment lawyer told supporters that "we will win the elections and then the nightmare of this government will be over".

"There is no left majority and no left politics anymore in Germany," Merz told a raucous beer hall, promising to tighten border controls and revive flagging Germany Inc.

For the next German leader, more threats loom from the United States, long its bedrock ally, if Trump sparks a trade war that could hammer Germany's recession-hit economy.

Pakistan threatens to deport Afghans if US resettlement delayed

By Fidel Rahmati

February 23, 2025

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, has warned that if the cases of thousands of Afghan citizens waiting for resettlement in the United States are not processed on time or are rejected, they will be deported back to Afghanistan. He made these comments in a television interview with the national TRT network on Saturday, February 22.

The Pakistani official warned that, “If any refugee whose case has been accepted by another country is not processed on time—without considering the deadline—and that country rejects them, then for us, this would be an illegal immigrant in Pakistan, and we may have to send them back to their original country, Afghanistan.”

Ishaq Dar emphasized that Islamabad is monitoring the situation and, based on this, will engage in negotiations with Washington. According to the Pakistani diplomat, the United States has promised to transfer Afghan refugees awaiting resettlement to the U.S. “probably around September of this year.”

Donald Trump, the U.S. President, suspended the resettlement program for refugees, including Afghan citizens, immediately after his inauguration by signing executive orders. This included halting flights for 1,600 individuals until further notice.

Afghans denied US resettlement to be deported

Baqir Sajjad Syed

February 23, 2025

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday warned that Afghan refugees not accepted for resettlement by the United States would be treated as illegal immigrants and deported.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in an interview with TRT details of which were shared by the FO on Saturday, said that while Pakistan was open to negotiations with the US on the matter, refugees whose resettlement is denied would face deportation.

“We will be examining the issue and will negotiate,” Mr Dar said. “However, in principle, if any refugee was meant to be taken by another country after due process — no matter the timeline — and if it doesn’t happen and the country refuses, that person will be considered an illegal immigrant in Pakistan.”

Since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, approximately 600,000 Afghans have fled to Pakistan, fearing persecution. Many sought resettlement in third countries, particularly the United States. While about 80,000 Afghans have been successfully relocated, more than 40,000 remain in limbo.

A significant portion — around 25,000 — had been expected to be resettled in the US. However, President Donald Trump’s abrupt suspension of the resettlement plan left roughly 20,000 Afghans uncertain about their future in Pakistan.

By Fidel Rahmati

February 23, 2025

Trump calls for return of US military equipment left in Afghanistan

By Fidel Rahmati

February 23, 2025

On Saturday, the U.S. President reiterated the importance of retrieving military equipment left behind in Afghanistan. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Donald Trump expressed his anger at the sight of the Taliban parading military equipment, including U.S. gear, and demanded its return.

Trump pointed out that the U.S. sends billions in aid to Afghanistan annually, yet faces its own domestic challenges. He emphasized that if such assistance were to continue, the Taliban should return the military equipment left behind by the U.S.

The President remarked that the Taliban had been selling U.S. military equipment, including tanks, vehicles, weapons, and advanced technology. He noted that these items were often in better condition than what the U.S. had, being fresh and new, directly out of the box.

Trump also highlighted the vast amount of military equipment the U.S. left in Afghanistan, previously estimating its worth at around $80 billion. He urged U.S. officials to pursue this issue and recover the equipment.

Fact-check: The false claim of Indian TV news channels ban in Bangladesh debunked

23-02-2025

Users in social media claimed that TV viewers in Bangladesh are no more getting Indian news channels including Doordarshan (DD), Republic TV, Republic Bangla, Zee News, NDTV, Wion, Aaj Tak, India Today, CNN-18, CNBC-18, Times Now, India News as those are accused by the Yunus government of “spreading disinformation”.

Further, the team searched the official social media handles of the mentioned channels. No such update of ban is provided in any of the accounts.

Digging further, DFRAC found that ZEE Network had been banned multiple times before for violating advertisement rules, not for spreading disinformation. On 02 April, 2019, Information Minister Hasan Mahmud, said the government has not imposed any ban on airing of Indian Zee Network, it has just executed the rules against the airing of advertisements in foreign TV channels. “According to the subsection-19 (13) of the Cable Television Network Act, 2006, Bangladeshi advertisements cannot be aired in foreign channels. So we just issued show-cause notices to two cable operators for violating the law,” he had said.

Tehran in MASSIVE trouble as Israel preparing to attack Iran’s Nuclear Sites, Netanyahu plans to… Donald Trump says…

By Victor Dasgupta

February 23, 2025

Tel Aviv: In a major strategic move, Israel is reportedly working on a plan to launch a massive attack to destroy all of Iran’s nuclear sites. According to the reports, Middle East Quarterly magazine’s upcoming article has revealed this possibility. Colin Winston, a 30-year veteran of the U.S. intelligence agency CIA and former head of research at the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has written this article where he has provided sensational information regarding an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The article claims that Israel is working on a preparation aimed at destroying Iran’s nuclear sites.

Iran has reportedly inched closer to developing nuclear bombs. The country has reliased that relying on timely warnings from US or Israeli intelligence agencies is no longer a credible strategy. This leaves Israel with very few options. The article states, “The time has come for Jerusalem and Washington to take decisive military action against Iran’s nuclear program, ideally through a coordinated and joint strike.”

This suggests that Israel, in collaboration with the US, is planning an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites. The most favorable aspect for Israel is that the US is now under the administration of Donald Trump, who does not incline Iran.

Father of Hostage: 'As a Muslim, I am furious with Hamas'

Feb 23, 2025

Sheban al-Sayed, father of Hisham al-Sayed, who was released after a decade in Hamas captivity, described his son's dire condition upon his return to Israel.

"His condition is not good. He was not in our world. A kind of Tarzan, worse than living for 10 years with animals. He does not communicate. Before he was talking, writing. Maybe he made wrong decisions, but at least he was communicating. Now we have a wiped-out person", the father lamented.

He added that Hisham was trying to talk about the years he had spent in captivity but was having difficulty sharing. "He says a lot of things that don't make sense, speaks in a whisper – perhaps out of fear. He recognizes us, but sometimes gets the names wrong and mentions names from ten years ago."

According to him, his son had undergone brutal torture for years. "He lowers his head and keeps quiet. We try not to burden him. Hamas are liars, they don't respect him like they claimed when they released him without a ceremony. They didn't want people to see what condition he was in, and that's why there was no ceremony. If they had any respect for people they would have released him long ago. What honor? I understand that he was in a state of mental torture. As a Muslim, I am furious with Hamas."

Iran fossil reserves, India tech can dominate world: Iran culture house director

Feb 23, 2025

Nagpur: Stating that Indo-Iran ties date back a long period, the Director of the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mumbai, Mohammad Reza Fazel, on Saturday said both countries enjoy a friendly relationship because of their shared cultural past. He suggested that they can further boost ties by using their strengths to dominate the world. He also mentioned that the Indian govt further strengthened ties with Iran by upholding the classical language status of Persian.

Speaking about gender equality, he said Iran treats women and men on par, and both follow set norms. Only the head and body of both men and women are asked to be covered in public, he said. "Iran is a free country, and all citizens enjoy equal freedom. But Iran has a dress code for both men and women. Every society follows certain norms and has limits. The law of Iran is as per its long traditions and religious beliefs, as it is for any sovereign country. Even men are not allowed to walk in undergarments in public there. One can't walk naked in public anywhere in the world," he said.

He alleged that social and print media are controlled by a few powerful people who don't like countries that want to live freely. "The reality of Iran is completely different from what the media portrays. More than 60% of women are reaching university level in Iran. Women are holding key positions in parliament, govt offices, and institutions. There is no reservation required. As many women as possible can be elected to parliament in Iran," he said.

He lauded the Indian govt's move to retain Persian in the classical languages category, saying it has only strengthened bilateral relations. "Persian has been an official language for more than 750 years, and it is good that the Indian govt acknowledged its importance. We are thankful to India," he said.

Iran Says Russian FM Lavrov Will Visit Tehran in Coming Days

23-02-2025

Iran's Foreign Ministry said Saturday that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Tehran in the coming days to meet his Iranian counterpart and discuss "regional and international developments."

"The visit…will be carried out within the framework of ongoing consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation on bilateral relations and regional and international developments," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said, according to a statement by the ministry.

Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, told the ISNA news agency that Lavorv's visit would take place on Tuesday and would be a one-day trip.

Tehran and Moscow were key allies of ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, who was overthrown in December by Islamist-led rebels.

The pair are also under heavy Western sanctions. Those against Russia have been ramped up since its 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Why affirmative action should move beyond Muslim quotas

Hilal Ahmed

February 23, 2025

The recently published report, ‘Rethinking Affirmative Action for Muslims in Contemporary India’, has attempted to revisit the question of Muslim marginalisation while recognising the contribution of the Sachar Commission (2006) in transforming Muslim backwardness into policy concerns.

The study marks a significant departure from previous research on Muslim backwardness in two ways. It pays close attention to the changing nature of the Indian state. It uses the term ‘charitable state’ to describe the changes introduced by the BJP-NDA govt to give new meaning to existing versions of welfarism without deviating from the national economic consensus on open market. The govt has created a new official category, the labharthis (beneficiaries), for direct benefit transfer. In this scheme, the open market economy is recognised as the driving force for infrastructure development while welfarism is envisaged as official generosity. A new vocabulary of welfarism is based on concepts like the Bhartiya model of inclusive development, humanist-welfare approach, and Antyodaya welfarism is introduced to provide a concrete shape to the present policy discourse. There is a shift from ‘group-centric’ approach of affirmative action to ‘space-centric’ welfarism. The report explores placing of Muslim communities in this apparatus of affirmative action.

Secondly, it gives emphasis to everyday Muslim perceptions. While common Muslims are recognised as the real stakeholders of development discourse, there is a tendency to downplay their views, anxieties, and aspirations in policy discussions. Consultation with community leaders, experts and intellectual elites is often recognised as the best possible mode to collect Muslims’ imaginations. Although one cannot underestimate the significance of community level consultations, there has always been a need to give adequate attention to actual Muslim responses. In fact, this was one of the criticisms of the Sachar Commission. This report tries to address this. Treating the CSDS-Lokniti data archive as a major source, Muslims’ perceptions, expectations, aspirations, and anxieties about their socio-economic backwardness and marginalisation are systematically explored.

'Unlike BJP, Congress Gives Ticket To Those Who Can Win', Pilot On Fielding Muslim Candidates In Election

23 Feb 2025

Ideas Of India 2025: Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday was one of the speakers at ABP's Ideas of India Summit. In the session, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan talked on various political developments in the country.

While answering a question on Congress, SP and TMC, the INDIA bloc members, have given tickets to fewer Muslim leaders in last year's Lok Sabha election compared to the previous elections due to BJP's Hindutva politics, he said that it is unfortunate to say that people have to count how many Muslim candidates there are in the fray, and added that poliical parties should give tickets to those who can win.

Taking a dig at BJP, Sachin Pilot said, "BJP has taken a policy decision that they will not give tickets to a particular community. However, we give tickets to those who are hardworking and Congressmen, they should be the ones who can win. But whether BJP wins or loses, it is their decision not to give tickets to Muslims.

Speaking at the summit, the MLA from Tonk constituency said "Our country has had different types of rulers, the British also came, but India's unity and sovereignty remained intact, we are proud Indians wherever we are from." He added, "BJP was born in 1984, eight years after I was born. No party, leader or slogan, one person can define the country. The idea of India is bigger than all these. Our country is bigger than any one ideology or political party."

Meet India’s richest Muslim, donates Rs 27 crore per day, his business is…, net worth is Rs…

By Gazi Abbas Shahid

February 22, 2025

India’s richest Muslim family: India is home to the world’s largest Muslim population, and while Indian Muslims have made their mark in various fields such as art, literature, science, among other, the country’s largest minority seemingly lags behind in the business space, which mainly dominated by the majority Hindu community.

However, their is one Muslim family in India which stands out in the business world, the Premji family, its current patriarch Azim Premji– the founder of IT giant, Wipro– being one of the wealthiest in the country and the world, boasting a net worth of $12.2 billion, according to Forbes.

The Premji family are a generational name in the business world, having been business owners for three generations. According to a famous anecdote, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, had asked the Premjis to move to the newly-formed country at the time of the 1947 partition.

However, the Premji family vehemently rejected Jinnah’s offer, and instead chose to stay in India and continue to grow their business, a prudent decision as the Premjisare the richest Muslim family in India today.

Born in Mumbai (then Bombay) on July 24, 1945 in an Ismaili Muslim family, Azim Hashim Premji is the son of Muhammed Hashim Premji, a noted businessman, who earned the moniker ‘Rice King of Burma’, for his thriving rice trade in Myanmar (then Burma). Azim’s father moved to India in 1940, and continued to run his business.

At the time of India’s partition, Muhammad Ali Jinnah reportedly invited Muhammed Premji to Pakistan, and even offered to make the Finance Minister of the newly-carved out state, but Premji turned down the offer and chose to remain in India.

Queer Muslims stand in solidarity after the murder of the first gay imam

By Johnny Levanier

February 22, 2025

Mushin Hendricks, who is believed to be the world’s first openly gay imam, was shot dead over the weekend in what appears to be a targeted killing. Although police have not identified a motive, LGBTQ+ advocacy groups and queer muslims around the world are raising the alarm on the prejudice left unchecked by religious leaders.

On Sunday, Hendricks was in Gqeberha, South Africa on his way back from officiating a wedding, according to the BBC. While on the road, his car was ambushed. CCTV footage shows a vehicle heading off his car and armed assailants getting out.

“Two unknown suspects with covered faces got out of the vehicle and started firing multiple shots at the vehicle,” the police statement said. “Thereafter they fled the scene, and the driver noticed that Hendricks, who was seated at the back of the vehicle was shot and killed.” The suspects have yet to be apprehended.

Hendricks was 57 years old. He first came out in 1996—the same year that South Africa adopted its constitution, the first in the world to protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation. Ten years later, South Africa became the first (and only) country in Africa to legalize same-sex marriage.

IHC upholds Auditor General of Pakistan’s exclusive power to conduct audits

Malik Asad

February 23, 2025

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court, in a significant ruling aimed at strengthening financial oversight and accountability in the public sector, has upheld the constitutional authority of the Auditor General of Pakistan, reaffirming AGP’s exclusive power to conduct audits of all entities utilising public funds under Article 170(2).

In its detailed judgement on a petition against an amendment in the statute that empowered the president to appoint an “independent officer” to conduct an audit of the AGP, the court clarified that no statutory law or government directive could restrict the AGP’s mandate.

According to the verdict, financial accountability and transparency are fundamental to good governance, and the AGP plays a crucial role in ensuring that state resources are utilised properly.

Earlier, during the course of hearing, an assistant attorney general representing the federation argued that the AGP office was subordinate to the federal government; AGP office employees were civil servants; the petitioners who were not personally aggrieved lacked the locus standi to question vires of the impugned legislation; the audit of the AGP office accounts had never been conducted since its establishment and that the audit matters fell within the purview of Article 73(2)(f).

The court held that the government, including ministries and other public sector organisations, could not limit or interfere with AGP’s constitutional functions. The judgement outlined that while government departments could establish their internal audit mechanisms, the same could not replace or override AGP’s independent authority.

Another plea lands in SC against judges’ transfer

Malik Asad

February 23, 2025

ISLAMABAD: The outgoing president of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA), Riasat Ali Azad, has challenged the recent transfer of judges from other high courts to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

In a constitutional petition filed in the Supreme Court on Friday, Mr Azad also challenged the revised seniority list after the transfers.

Earlier this week, five sitting judges of the IHC had petitioned the top court against recent changes to the high court following the transfer of new judges from different provinces.

The friction among IHC judges started earlier this month when Lahore High Court’s Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, Sindh High Court’s Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Balochistan High Court’s Justice Muhammad Asif were transferred to the IHC.

Afaq Ahmed sent to prison in another arson case

February 23, 2025

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) chairman Afaq Ahmed in judicial custody in a third arson case registered against him.

Representing Mr Ahmed, lawyers Hashmat Khaild and Javed Chhatari argued that their client had been implicated in the present case on political grounds.

However, the magistrate noted in his order that when the court asked the lawyers to submit a written application they requested to send the suspect to prison on judicial remand.

The court observed that Section 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house, etc.) of the Pakistan Penal Code was a non-bailable offence, which required a trial by a sessions court.

“From the time you took on this role, we knew it was a tough task. We know as well that time is of the essence in view of the fact that we want to achieve the first tranche of our job before the period of election.

“But with the kind of team spirit that we have exhibited, the kind of dedication we have exhibited, it appears to us that the destination towards realizing this is in view. Calls to limit Sabah election to state-only parties is contradictory due to national coalitions’ involvement, says Hamzah Zainudin

By Malay Mail

23 Feb 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 — Calls to limit Sabah elections to local parties are misguided, says Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

He criticised Sabah-based parties pushing for exclusivity, saying these same parties collaborate with national coalitions in the state government.

“It is contradictory for these parties to promote exclusivity while forming alliances with national coalitions,” he said, according to The Star.

Hamzah made these remarks at Perikatan’sJelajah Rakyat event in Dewan Gum Gum, Sandakan, as Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), which consists of seven local parties, continues working with Pakatan Harapan in the state government.
