Don't Waste Your Time and Energy on Geocentric and Heliocentric Models: See the Ever-Swelling Number of Ex-Muslims

It saddens
me no end to see armchair exegetes and apologists of Islam and Quran waste
their time over absolutely meaningless issues like geocentric and heliocentric
models. How can this futile debate be of any tangible use to any sane person or
Muslim?
A 'genius'
is applying his mathematical acumen to prove the unerring accuracy and sequence
of Quranic verses while suicide bombers are killing innocent people all over
the world. “If even one person misunderstands and misuses the teachings of a
scripture, the moral onus is on the entire mankind, not just on that person or
his community. In that case, that scripture must be studied all over again,
rewritten according to contemporary contexts and made unambiguous even to a
child, “wrote Rabindranath Tagore to his Irish friend and fellow Nobel laureate
William Butler Yeats.
Both Tagore
and Yeats never believed in the authenticity of the scriptures of their
respective faiths and were nominal faithful individuals who seldom, if ever,
visited a temple or church. But they were humanitarians.
The
armchair Muslim 'scholars' living in ivory towers must emulate these greats who
put humans above religions, books and even god/s. When a book, full of
contradictions and written in flawed Arabic, becomes a book of divine guidance
for a whole Ummah and creates so much bad-blood, isn't it advisable to toss
away that book forever to live peacefully with all humans irrespective of their
religions and sects? How long will Muslims continue to kill fellow humans in
the name of Islam?
Most of the
Muslims seem to be suffering from the Error of Accuracy and Commitment Syndrome;
unwavering commitment to Quran, Hadees and Sunnah. They've refused to accept
the fact that their desert faith must desert primitivism to keep pace with
modernism. Ironically, Quran's perceived accuracy has become its error! In
other words, Islam and Quran are hoist with their own petard.
That's why
the term 'liberal Muslim' has become an oxymoron like ' an honest politician '
or 'happily married.' You're either honest or a politician or either happy or
married, just like either a liberal or a Muslim.
Coming back
to the subject of discussing a host of utterly useless religious phenomena and
tenets of Islam, it'll be far better to introspect and shelve Quran and
Muhammad's spurious teachings for a while. It's also time to ask yourselves why
the rest of the world avoids, if not abhors, Muslims. Please don't tell me,
many westerners are embracing Islam to prove me wrong. Mind you, those coming
out of the fold of Islam, outnumber those who're converting to it. See the
ever-swelling number of ex-Muslims.
