Abstract:
Divine Scriptures are the holy books revealed by Allah to His prophets, such as the Qur’an, Torah, Psalms, and Gospel. The Qur’an also mentions other scriptures like the Scrolls of Abraham and Noah. Muslims believe that the Holy Qur’an is the final Divine Book and no new heavenly scripture will come after it. The Holy Qur’an is the word of Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and has remained completely protected in its original form. Scholars like Israr Ahmad and Abul A'la Maududi explain that the Qur’an contains no doubt because it is based on true knowledge from Allah. The teachings of the Qur’an guide humanity towards success in this world and salvation in the Hereafter.

Main Points:
· Divine Scriptures were revealed by Allah to guide prophets and humanity towards the right path.
· Muslims believe the Holy Qur’an is the final heavenly book revealed by Allah for humanity.
· The Qur’an has remained completely protected, unchanged, and preserved in its original revealed form forever.
· Scholars explain that the Qur’an contains no doubt because it comes directly from Allah alone.
· The teachings of the Qur’an guide people towards worldly success and eternal salvation in the Hereafter.

Divine Scriptures are the books that were revealed by Allah to His prophets. Most people know them as the Qur’an, the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel. Allah has mentioned all these four books in the Holy Qur’an.
When we study the Qur’an carefully, we also find the mention of some other revealed scriptures, such as the Scrolls of Abraham and the Scrolls of Noah. Some scholars also believe that the term Zubur al-Awwaleen mentioned in the Qur’an refers to the Vedas. This is an academic and intellectual discussion which may be explained later. At present, the main purpose is to explain that the Holy Qur’an is a Divine Book.
According to the belief of Muslims, the Holy Qur’an is the final Divine Scripture. No new heavenly book will come after it. Dr Israr Ahmad wrote the following points in the introduction of his commentary Bayan-ul-Qur’an regarding the Muslim belief about the Qur’an:
“The first important point in understanding the Holy Qur’an is to know our beliefs about it.
Our belief regarding the Qur’an can be explained in three simple statements:
The Qur’an is the word of Allah.
It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
It is completely preserved in its original form, and Allah Himself has taken responsibility for its protection.”
(Dr Israr Ahmad, Bayan-ul-Qur’an, Vol. 1, p. 7)
The Qur’an itself proves that it is a book revealed by Allah. Allah says in the Qur’an:
ذٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۖ فِيْهِ ۚ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِيْنَ. ( البقرہ: 2)
“This is the Book in which there is no doubt; it is guidance for the God-fearing people.”
This means that the Holy Qur’an is a book sent down by Allah, and there is no doubt about its divine origin.
Abul A'la Maududi explained this verse in his famous commentary Tafheem-ul-Qur’an in these words:
“Its simple meaning is: ‘Without doubt, this is the Book of Allah.’ Another meaning is that there is nothing doubtful in this Book. Most books that discuss unseen realities are based on assumptions and guesses, so even their authors cannot claim complete certainty. But the Qur’an is based entirely on true knowledge because its Author knows all realities. Therefore, there is no place for doubt in it. If people still doubt it, that is because of their own lack of understanding.”
(Tafheem-ul-Qur’an, Vol. 1, p. 49)
Dr Israr Ahmad also writes in Bayan-ul-Qur’an:
“There is absolutely no doubt in the Qur’an. Everything in it is certain, final, and firm. This is the only book in the world that openly claims to be free from all doubt. Even other books that are called divine do not make such a claim. Human writings certainly cannot make this claim. Great philosophers such as Allama Iqbal admitted that their ideas could contain mistakes and might change with further knowledge. But the Qur’an clearly declares: ‘There is no doubt in it.’”
(Bayan-ul-Qur’an, Vol. 1, p. 111)
These explanations clearly show that the Holy Qur’an is a book of guidance revealed by Allah to Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him). It has remained preserved exactly as it was revealed, and no alteration or change has taken place in it.
In many other verses of the Qur’an, Allah has also declared that the Qur’an is His own word. Allah says:
“Indeed, this Qur’an is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. The trustworthy Spirit has brought it down upon your heart, so that you may become one of the warners, in clear Arabic language.”
The main message of these verses is that the Holy Qur’an is revealed by Allah and is not the creation or writing of any human being.
Abul A'la Maududi explained this meaning in the following words:
“This clear Book and this reminder, whose verses are being recited, is not something invented by any human being. Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) did not compose it himself. Rather, it has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds.”
A careful study of the teachings, commands, and laws mentioned in the Qur’an clearly shows that it is a Divine Book revealed for the guidance and welfare of humanity. Human nature itself demands a source of guidance that can lead people towards success in worldly life and also become a means of salvation in the Hereafter.
