“Sada sada ya Nabya... Sada sada ya Ali...Zikr-e-Jahani Ali, Ali, Ali... (Ali mentioned throughout the world) is a passionate refrain rather than a standard pop song. It is commonly associated in the context of the Battle of Karbala and in the context of the Iran-Iraq War; it's labeled as a war cry.

The performance by Hossein Sotoodeh has provided intensity to Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel and the United States bases in the Gulf region.

Iran’s “Operation True Promise” or "Axis of Resistance" is a retaliatory military reaction to the unprovoked war foisted on the Persian nation.  Its resonance is heard through the song "Sada Sada Ya Nabya Sada Ya Ali."

This devotional religious song bridges the Shia-Sunni divide amongst the Islamic faith and touches the religious chord of every Muslim in the world.

While the phrase Sada Sada Ya Nabi ye” is part of broader religious poetry, its standardized lyric transition is beyond the comprehension of an English dictionary.

Sada Sada Always Always) in a simple context translates to a call for lasting remembrance of Oh Prophet Muhammad (Ya Nabya) and Ya Ali: O Ali (Imam Ali).

The lyrics are a declaration of devotion towards the Prophet Muhammad and an appeal or declaration of devotion towards Hazrat Ali, the fourth Caliph of Islam.

“Sada Sada Ya Nabi ye” is a Noha form of poetic recitation. This form of devotional recitation is often rendered by Shia Muslims to express their deep grief over the martyrdom of Imam Hussain in the battle of Karbala. It is often accompanied by Matam (ritualistic mourning, such as chest-beating. In the video, a large crowd is seen thumping their chest along with the singer. This song for the people Iran means a "ray of light" or "brightness."

The adulation for this song has come from some non-Muslim viewers who, in their comments, have reacted to this soul-piercing recitation.

One said this song has given strength to Iran to fight this unjust war. Another commented that the intensity of this song has boosted the morale of those fighting the war.  Yet another comment reads, such a great intensity of this music can sustain the war that is now in its fifth week.

Undauntedly, “Sada Sada Ya Nabi ye” has become a world anthem, courtesy of the Iran war.
