Points:
1.
Terrorism and Islam are two opposing forces,
and just as night and day cannot coexist in one location; terrorism and Islam
cannot coexist in one place.

Attacks on civilians, innocents, and all
non-combatants, as well as women and children, are terrorism, not jihad.

Terrorism
is an act that promotes panic and instability in society and frightens people,
and it is referred to as Fasad fil Ard (mischief on earth) in the Holy Quran.
This is due to the fact that terrorism and Islam are two opposing forces, and
just as night and day cannot coexist in one location; terrorism and Islam
cannot coexist in one place. It is self-evident that where terrorism exists,
there will be no Islam, and where Islam exists, there will be no terrorism.
This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that terrorism has nothing to do with
Islam. Terrorism and suicide strikes have no place in Islam. Terrorist
organisations are just misrepresenting the image of Islam by committing heinous
acts.
Suicide
bombings, killings of innocent people, and property destruction in any part of
the world are despicable. Terrorists acting in the name of Islam are disobeying
Allah's commands as well as Quranic injunctions:
Allah
Azzawajal says, “whoever takes a life—unless as a punishment for murder or
mischief in the land—it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever
saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.” (5:32)
He also
says, “And whoever kills a believer intentionally, their reward will be
Hell—where they will stay indefinitely. Allah will be displeased with them,
condemn them, and will prepare for them a tremendous punishment.” (4:93)
The
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reportedly said, “Do not be envious of
one another; do not artificially raise prices against one another; do not hate
one another; do not turn one’s back on each other and do not undercut one
another in business transactions. And be [O] servants of Allah, brethren. A
Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not wrong him. He does not fail him
[when he needs him]. He does not lie to him. And he does not show contempt for
him. Piety is here” – and he pointed to his chest three times. “It is enough
evil for a person to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. All of a Muslim is
inviolable to another Muslim: his blood, his wealth and his honour.” (Sahih Muslim)
But the bad
elements are using means of terrorism to misrepresent jihad. These terrorists
are always causing havoc on the globe in the name of Islam and the Quran.
Attacks on civilians, innocents, and all non-combatants, as well as women and
children, are terrorism, not jihad, and those who carry out such attacks are
criminals in the eyes of Islam, and their deeds cannot be referred to as jihad.
The Qur'an
teaches several strategies for preventing Fasad fil Ard (terrorism) and
injustice. Commanding the Muslims to avoid the Fasad Fil Al-Ard’, Allah says in
the Quran, “And do not obey the order of the transgressors, Who cause
corruption in the land [Yufsiduna Fil Al-Ard’] and do not amend.”
(26:151-152)
Another
heavenly instruction for the people is to refrain from interfering in
unconnected issues as Almighty God says, “Say (O Prophet!) I have believed
in what Allah has revealed of the Qur'an, and I have been commanded to do
justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds and
for you your deeds. There is no [need for] argument between us and you. Allah
will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination.” (42:15)
Fasad fil
Ard can be avoided if Muslims work to promote peace and justice as God Almighty
says, “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah,
witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from
being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed,
Allah is acquainted with what you do”. (5:8)
One of the
emirs of Hazrat Umar Farooq (May Allah be pleased with him) made a complaint
about the desertion of his city and asked for money from Amir al-Muminin Hazrat
Umar in order to re-establish the city. Hazrat ‘Umar Farooq wrote in reply,
“After reading my letter, protect your city by establishing justice, fairness
and removing oppression from the paths of the city because oppression results
in the desertion of the city”
It is true
that “the country is not without an army. The army is not without wealth. The
wealth is not without cities. The city is not without people. And the people
are not without justice”.
In the
above-mentioned text, Hazrat Umar commanded his governor to refrain from
oppression and injustice in all situations, or the city would be destroyed.
Because a lack of justice opens the door to oppression, individuals are driven
to become criminals; so, justice must be established at any costs. When
injustice is committed in a country or among nations, acts of violence and
terrorism are perpetrated, resulting in the slaughter of a significant number
of people and the destruction of human families' homes.
A
well-known English proverb says, “If you want peace, work for justice”
The
preservation of others' lives and property is a requirement of Islam, and it is
prohibited in Islam to take the life of another human being unjustly. Terrorism
is abhorrent, and no religion can allow it, hence it is our first duty to
educate people about Islam and its founder's beliefs.
