Condemnation of the Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam: An Assault on the Spirit of Islam, Humanity, and Kashmir’s Sufi Legacy

We, at the All India Mohammadi Mission, strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. This cowardly and inhumane act — which claimed the lives of innocent civilians — is a direct attack on humanity, peace, and the centuries-old inclusive traditions of Islam and Kashmir.
It is both tragic and shameful that certain extremist groups continue to misuse the name of Islam for their barbaric actions. Since the inception of Islam, violent factions like the Khawarij have cloaked themselves in religious attire to target the true custodians of peace and justice. From Imam Ali (A.S.) to Imam Hussain (A.S.), countless luminaries were martyred for standing firmly against terror and tyranny.
At a time when bullets tore through the air, Kashmiri Muslims displayed unmatched courage by risking their own lives to protect innocent tourists. This act of humanity is the true face of Kashmir — a shining example of Kashmiriyat and Hindustaniyat in action. To save life at gunpoint is not easy — it is the highest form of bravery, ethics, and faith.
We must honor those who stood between death and dignity. Their heroism reminds us that even in darkness, humanity can shine its brightest.
However, such a massive security lapse in a highly sensitive area raises urgent questions.
We respectfully call upon the Government of India to conduct a full, transparent, and time-bound inquiry into this security failure. The citizens of India have the right to know how such an attack was allowed to occur, despite the known risks in the region.
At the same time, it is deeply troubling that certain sections of the media are trying to communalize this tragedy by framing it along Hindu-Muslim lines. This divisive narrative not only distorts the truth but strengthens the very forces of hate and terror. If we allow religion to be used as a wedge, those who dance in the fire of violence will be the ones who win — and our shared fabric of unity will suffer irreparable damage.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the swift recovery of those injured. The All India Mohammadi Mission stands united with the people of Kashmir and all citizens who believe in peace, compassion, and justice.
We urge the Government to not only bring the perpetrators to justice but to take proactive steps to restore public trust in security systems and ensure such incidents never repeat.
Finally, we appeal to the youth and citizens across the country to rise above hatred and division. Embrace the path of peace shown by our elders — a path paved with wisdom, spiritual light, and unity. Reject violence in all its forms. Let love, harmony, and truth define the future of our nation.
