Militant Religiosity Of Religious Gurus

"80% of India’s population should be Hindu. Until Hindus occupy around 470 seats in Parliament, the country cannot become a Hindu Rashtra." This is the latest statement of the controversial guru, priest and a blue-eyed saint of the current political dispensation. The way the Church interfered with the politics and monarchy in Europe a few centuries ago, the same is happening in India when religious figures, who're supposed to remain indifferent to politics, caste and religious differences, are openly issuing controversial statements like Rambhadra and are determined to turn India into a Hindu Rashtra.

The question is: Will a Hindu Rashtra change the collective destiny of its people? How'll it help Hindus who'll constitute 80% of India's population? Will the destiny of Hindus change? Is the situation of Hindus at danger? The whole India, especially, the fanatic Hindus have gone berserk over these assumptions and speculations. And when these statements come from the 'revered' priests like Rambhadracharya, things degenerate further.

This saint is known for his controversial statements. Recently, he said that Dr B R Ambedkar had no knowledge of Sanskrit. It's a known fact that the current political dispensation turns a blind eye (pun intended) to this blind guru. So, he says whatever rubbish he wants to utter.

The problem with this country is that gurus, babas, priests and religious men and women are enjoying an upper hand. No one can dare challenge their religious invincibility. Their boundless powers must be curbed. But who will curb their unbridled powers? That's a million-dollar question. 

Remember, a priest is a pest. This species is particularly despicable. There's one famous maxim regarding the priests that springs to mind, " Beware of the front part of a woman, the hind part of a mule and all the parts of a priest."

So, beware of this Rambhadracharya and his brand of militant religiosity.
