Much of the Quran Speaks Not About Religion but
Only About How One Must Submit; It Commands How One Must Live, Dress, Treat
Women and Slaves, and Practise Jihad
-----
I'm afraid,
the latitudinarian believer Mr Ghulam Mohiyuddin will never get a
straightforward reply from a believing Muslim to his statement, “The Quran is
best when it gives a positive message. Throwing expletives and curses at others
betrays weakness."
Many
Muslims are aware that the general tone and tenor of the Quran is threatening
but the benumbing influence of Islam and Quran doesn't let them accept this.
Its apologists will try tooth and nail to convince you, but to no avail. I
remember the words of Winston Churchill, " How dreadful are the curses
which Muhammadism lays on its votaries!.....Individual Muslims may show splendid
qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development
of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in this
world...."
You can
check it for yourself that the Quran is rife with Surahs (verses) directing its
followers to violence. Surah 3:151, Surah 2:191, Surah 9:5 and many more can be
cited as proofs. All explanations to prove them otherwise will fall flat
because to quote an archaic Arabic adage, ' Even the best of perfumes cannot
drown the stench of a dead body. '
Much of the
Quran speaks not about religion but only about how one must submit; it commands
how one must live, dress, treat women and slaves, and practise jihad. In short,
the Quran is all about religio-scriptural totalitarianism. It's a rabidly martinet
Allah's draconian screed.
Recently,
when I was in conversation with an Arabic scholar of Quran who teaches Theology
at an Ivy League University in the States, he told me that the Quran was
anything but a benign book. Mind you, a native speaker of Arabic with a command
of the 7th-century Quranic Arabic telling you that the book has a brow-beating
tone.
And here the sub-continental 'experts' and '
exegetes ' of the Quran are trying to purge it of its venomous and vindictive
spirit. This is stubbornness, nay, monomania.
Lastly, no
Muslim can say that I'm extra harsh on Quran. Those criticising me should read
my disenchanted and candid treatises in Sanskrit, Pahalvi and Hebrew on Gita,
Avesta and Talmud. I literally and metaphorically tore them apart. I spare
none.
