Yet Another Lynching In Pakistan - A Country In Shambles

In the Swat
region of Pakistan, a mob brutally lynched a man, accusing him of desecrating the
Quran inside the Madyan police station.
The victim,
a tourist from Sialkot, was burned alive by an enraged crowd on Thursday, as
captured in a widely circulated video on social media. Although the suspect’s
identity remains unconfirmed, media reports suggest he was a tourist staying at
a local hotel.
As per a
local media report, some men in a local market alleged blasphemy against the
person. Subsequently, a crowd apprehended him and handed him over to the
police. However, tensions escalated as announcements from mosques in Madyan
further incited anger, mobilizing people toward the police station.

Siddiqui, a Pakistani journalist living in exile, shared the disturbing footage
on X, commenting, “In this video now viral on social media, a Pakistani man can
be seen burnt alive by a mob in #Swat Valley over #blasphemy allegations. The
larger mob surrounding the body can be seen using cameras with flashlight to
film the lynching. Welcome to #Pakistan – the Islamic republic.”
Barbaric,
savage, brutal, feral, animalistic....I'm groping for suitable adjectives to articulate
my deep anguish. In fact, calling these people, who burnt a man alive for
allegedly desecrating Quran, beastly or animalistic will be an insult to beasts
and animals. These fanatics are worse than animals. Pakistan is in a state of
complete disarray. Religion (read Islam) has destroyed the country. Yet, its
people are still neck-deep in pathological religiosity and killing people in
the name of blasphemy. That this is happening in a civilized world is all the
more worrisome. Just imagine, a mere book could be more important than the life
of an individual ! Muslims, especially, the Muslims of Pakistan are Quran
obsessed, Muhammad fixated and Allah intoxicated. When will they tone down
their intense and extreme religiosity which has gone beyond zealotry and
degenerated into paranoia? These religiously deluded Muslims think that the
whole world is against their faith, Muhammad and Allah. So, kill all those
non-believers and also those Muslims who dare to question. Alhamdulillah. Why
doesn't Allah, if at all it does exist, drill a smidgen of sense into the
brains of these bovine zealots?
