Kind Words Can Be Short And Easy To Speak, But Their Echoes Are Truly Endless: Mother Teresa

Kind Words Can Be Short And Easy To Speak, But Their Echoes Are Truly Endless.

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born on August 26

------

Mother Teresa's words resonated with a profound truth about the power of kindness. She believed that even the shortest and simplest acts of kindness have the potential to create a lasting impact. Kind words, according to her, possess an enduring quality that lingers in our hearts and minds, as their echoes continue to reverberate long after they were spoken.

The ripple effect of kindness cannot be underestimated, as it has the ability to inspire, uplift, and bring hope to those who hear it. It serves as a gentle reminder that even the smallest acts of compassion can have an immeasurable and limitless influence on others, perpetuating a cycle of love and understanding within our world.

Goonj Rah Jaati Hai Alfaaz Ki/ Phir Ve Talkh Hon Ya Hon Shireen (Echoes of words remain whether they're bitter or sweet). Yaas Yagana Changezi wrote, "Aur Toh Kuchh Ho Na Saka Hum Se/ Chand Meethe Bol Bol Diye Logon Se" (Nothing worthwhile could I do/ I just uttered a few sweet words).

In Persian mysticism, mystics believe that the cosmos is composed of words and it (Universe) is a humongous dome. Good and bad words strike this dome and come back to us manifold. Alfaaz Jaise Honge, Sila Bhi Vaisa Hi Milega (The response is always in accordance with the words), wrote Urdu novelist Rajinder Singh Bedi.

Words make or mar relations. It has been found that when we use harsh and unpleasant words, we too feel uncomfortable and somewhere our conscience keeps gnawing at us. Apne Hi Zameer Ko Zakhmi Kiya/ Jab Bhi Maine Dil Kisi Ka Dukhaya (I've hurt my own conscience/ Whenever I hurt anyone).

Insensitive words come to us much more easily just like abuses and cuss words are picked up before learning decent words. Curses run faster than compliments is a famous Scottish adage which underlines the (negative) influence of unkind words. I inadvertently hurt many people in life and when I introspect, I feel ashamed of myself for stooping so low. Baat Toh Talkh Kah Dee, Kah Ke Pashemaan Hua/ Barson Baad Mujhe Laga, Aaj Main Insaan Hua (I uttered something harsh and felt sorry afterwards/ I realized, I became a human after many years).

Lastly, even seemingly 'sweet' words may hurt if spoken condescendingly or with veiled sarcasm. So, one must be extra-careful when it comes to uttering a word for, words have byzantine ramifications. They must be spoken with honest and genuine emotions.
