The drivel about 72 Houries is an
apologist's sophistry. Modern apologists of Islam try to downplay the evident
materialism and sexual implications of such descriptions, but, as the
Encyclopaedia of Islam says, even orthodox Muslim theologians such as al
Ghazali (died 1111 CE) and Al-Ash'ari (died 935 CE) have "admitted sensual
pleasures into paradise". The sensual pleasures are graphically elaborated
by Al-Suyuti (died 1505), Quranic commentator and polymath. He wrote:
"Each time we sleep with a Houri we find her virgin. Besides, the
penis of the Elected never softens. The erection is eternal; the sensation that
you feel each time you make love is utterly delicious and out of this world and
were you to experience it in this world you would faint. Each chosen one [i.e.
Muslim] will marry seventy [sic] Houries, besides the women he married
on earth, and all will have appetising vaginas.
Sleeping with gorgeous damsels, who don't
fart, defecate and experience menses, is not just an average Muslim's fantasy,
but a secret desire of all men with a wiener. Religions provide this
phantasmagoria or the fantasy world where men can satiate their libido
indefatigably. Not just Quran but the scriptures of Hinduism also graphically,
nay erotically, describe the beauty of Apsaras like Menka, Rambha,
Tilottama, Ghritachi, Urvashi among others who're eternally young (never
exceeding the age of 25! So luscious, lascivious and voluptuous!). Remember,
all religious books were written by men. Even if you assert that they were
god's words, well, you thought of your god as a male. So, it's but obvious that
a lot many things in these putrid books will always revolve around repressed
sexuality and pander to a man's basic instincts. Women are a commodity whose
only function is to make men (sexually) happy. This ingrained notion birthed
the idea of Houries, Apsaras and heavenly consorts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That such corporeal and extremely sexist
thoughts in different religions and their books are still justified by
'learned' people and apologists is proof that believers can go to any length to
defend their books, faith, god and religious tenets. What's all the more
ludicrous is the assertion that these Houries will not be concubines but
legal wives of a Momin in heaven! What about pious women? Won't they get
well-hung studs as hubbies in heaven? Alack, poor women will have no choice. So
sad! The same (monotonous) husband on earth will again be her husband in paradise!
Doesn't she long for a different man, let alone, a gaggle of guys, just like
her husband craves a bevy of sexy females? Who're we fooling? Who wrote this
crap? Remember, all these Houries and Apsaras in an imaginary heaven are
symbolical as well as bodily manifestations of men's embarrassingly dark
fantasies that cannot easily be fulfilled on earth.
Humans need to purge their faiths and books
of this arrant nonsense and lustfulness. Quran, Puran, Hadees, Agamas,
Pitakas, Gathas and all that jazz have put the mockers on the evolution of
human civilization. Remove them to let the juggernaut of rationality march
ahead.
