------------
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Muslims have been urged to exercise caution in their speech and avoid statements that could demean the dignity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), said Federal Territories Mufti Ahmad FauwazFadzil.
“There should be no such attribution. Even if intended as inspiration, it is unacceptable. For example, calling the Prophet poor is wrong and damages the reputation of this great Messenger,” he said.
Ahmad Fauwaz made the remarks after serving as a panelist at the forum ‘When Can We Bathe in the Klang River?’ organised by PersatuanSahabat Sungai Malaysia at UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia (UTM) Residence here today.
Also present were the society’s president Prof Datuk Seri Ir Dr ZainiUjang and Malaysian Institute of Architects Eastern Region chairman DatinKanizaShafie.
The Mufti was responding to a Facebook post that compared environmental activist Greta Thunberg’s autism to the personality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), sparking heated debate online.
“Perhaps they are unaware or ignorant, but from a fiqh perspective, no one may attribute weaknesses to the Prophet,” he added.

Poll: Nearly four in 10 US Jews say Israel has committed genocide in Gaza
05-10-2025

------------
Nearly 40 percent of American Jews believe Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, according to a poll published on Saturday by The Washington Post.
The poll paints a picture of US Jews’ sentiments regarding Israel, Gaza and their own situation nearly two years into the war between Israel and Hamas in the Strip. It was taken September 2-9, with 815 American Jewish respondents and a margin of error of 4.7 percentage points.
The poll found that most Jewish Americans surveyed believe Israel has committed war crimes in the Strip, and nearly a third say the US is too supportive of Israel. But respondents were evenly split in their views of Israel’s overall military campaign there. More than two-thirds have a negative view of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership of Israel.
At the same time, the poll found that most American Jews are emotionally attached to Israel, believe Israel’s existence is vital to the Jewish future, and support continued US military aid to Israel. Almost one-third said they do not feel safe in the US.
The poll was taken before key recent developments in the war, including the launch of Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza City and US President Donald Trump’s presentation last week of a plan to end the war, which Netanyahu has accepted. Hamas and Israel are due to begin talks over the plan on Monday, with the prime minister predicting that Hamas will release the 48 hostages it is holding within days.
The poll comes amid a flurry of surveys showing declining support for Israel in the United States. It also reflects declining support for Israel’s military campaign among American Jews. A poll taken by the Pew Research Center a year and a half earlier, in mid-February 2024, found that 62% of American Jews said the way Israel was carrying out the war against Hamas was acceptable.
This picture, taken during a media tour organized by the Israeli army, shows Israeli heavy machinery in front of damaged buildings in the vicinity of the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza City, Friday, October 3, 2025. (Jack Guez/Pool Photo via AP)
According to the Washington Post poll, 39% of American Jews said Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, an accusation frequently leveled by Israel’s harshest critics, which Jerusalem adamantly rejects. Fifty-one percent said Israel did not commit genocide. Before answering the question, respondents were told that “The United Nations defines genocide as ‘acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.’
In addition, 61% said Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza, and 29% said it has not. Fifty-nine percent said Israel is not doing enough to ensure food aid reaches the enclave’s population, as opposed to 30% who said it is doing enough.
But views of Israel’s overall military conduct were almost evenly divided. The poll found that 46% approve of Israel’s military conduct, while 48% disapprove.
In addition, 68% of respondents said Hamas is more to blame for civilian deaths in Gaza, because it started the war and fights from civilian areas. By contrast, just 32% blame Israel more because it has bombed civilians’ residences and workplaces. Nearly all respondents, 94%, said Hamas has committed war crimes.
The poll also found that 80% or more of US Jews are concerned about civilian deaths in Gaza, the Israeli hostages held by Hamas, the threat posed to Israel by the terror group and Israeli soldiers’ safety in Gaza. Majorities said Israel, Hamas, Netanyahu and the United States all bear responsibility for the continuation of the war.
According to the poll, US Jews disapprove of the prime minister, with 68% rating his leadership of Israel negatively, including 48% who call it poor. By contrast, 32% approve of Netanyahu’s leadership.
US Jews’ overall support for Israel, however, appeared to be holding steady. The poll found that 56% of American Jews surveyed feel emotionally attached to Israel, similar to the 58% who said so in a 2020 Pew survey. However, among US Jews ages 18 to 34, only 36% feel an emotional attachment.
In addition, 76% said Israel’s existence is vital to the long-term future of the Jewish people, with 16% disagreeing. Nearly 60% said they had “a lot” or “some” in common with Israeli Jews.
And 59% of American Jews support continued US military aid to Israel to fight against Hamas, in contrast with multiple recent polls that have found most Americans overall oppose continued military aid to Israel.
The poll found, however, that 32% of American Jews feel the US is too supportive of Israel, as opposed to 22% in the 2020 Pew survey. The Post poll found that 47% of respondents think US support for Israel is at the right level, and 20% want Washington to be more supportive.
In contrast to Israelis, most of whom oppose Palestinian statehood, 59% of US Jews say a Palestinian state can coexist peacefully with Israel.

The poll also touched on antisemitism in the US, which, according to repeated surveys and law enforcement reports, has risen substantially since the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attack that began the war. The Washington Post found that 26% of respondents feel “not too” safe as Jews in the US, while six percent feel “not at all” safe. Eighteen percent feel “very” safe as Jews in the US, and 51% feel “somewhat” safe.

BJP in Punjab demands constitutional review of minority status for Muslims
Oct 5, 2025

Amritsar: Following communal tension in Jalandhar, the Punjab BJP has demanded a constitutional review of the minority status granted to the Muslims at the national level.
Punjab BJP spokesperson Sarchand Singh Khiala on Saturday said the Muslim community in India today enjoyed an influential demographic and political position and could no longer be considered a minority.
"The criteria for minority recognition should be determined state-wise rather than nationally," he said, adding that the reservations considered on the basis of economy were justified.
Notably, an altercation occurred between a Hindu youth and Muslim protesters, who had gathered to submit a memorandum to the administration over the arrests linked to the ‘I Love Muhammad' campaign in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, here Friday evening. Later, local BJP leaders and other Hindu groups launched a protest and staged a dharna at the busy BMC Chowk, demanding the registration of a case.
While refusing to make a direct comment on the Jalandhar issue, Sarchand said in a multi-religious and multicultural country like India, the definition of minority could not remain static.
"The Muslim community no longer fits the category of a ‘minority', as its population now exceeds 200 million, nearly 16-17% of India's total population. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, and Jammu & Kashmir, Muslims hold decisive influence. Granting them minority privileges is inconsistent with the principle of social justice," he said.
Citing the Economic Advisory Council's report presented to the Prime Minister, Khiala noted that the Muslim population share in India grew from 9.84% in 1950 to 14.09% in 2015 — an increase of 43.15%, while the Hindu population fell from 84.68% to 78.06% during the same period.
The govt informed Parliament in 2023 that the Muslim population exceeded 197.5 million, and is likely to have surpassed 200 million by now. In comparison, the Sikhs constitute only 1.85%, Christians 2.36%, Buddhists 0.81%, Jains 0.36%, and Parsis merely 0.004% of India's population, Khiala highlighted.
The Punjab BJP spokesperson said the central govt should revoke the Muslim minority status at the national level, ensuring that real minorities — Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Christians, and Parsis — receive stronger protection for their cultural, religious, educational, and economic rights.
He further pointed out that despite a 1% decline in the Muslim Total Fertility Rate (TFR) between 2005-06 and 2020-21, the overall Muslim population continued to grow rapidly due to factors like illegal immigration, refugee influx, and religious conversions — which were gradually altering India's demographic balance, posing a challenge to national unity and integrity.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Urges Islamic Ulema To Lead Bangladesh Alongside Mosque
04 Oct 2025

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman has expressed hope that the country’s Islamic scholars, known as Ulama, will provide leadership not only in mosques but also in national affairs.
Rejecting division of the nation along religious lines, he said: “According to the latest census, 90.8 percent of the population are Muslims, while the rest are Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians.
“Bangladesh has been home to Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians living together for decades. Globally, few nations can claim such interfaith harmony, and Bangladesh holds a special place among them,” he said.
Shafiqur emphasised that individuals have the freedom to choose religion through conscience, adding: “Allah has endowed humans with reasoning and insight. People will accept faith through reflection and understanding.”
Addressing the nation’s challenges, he said: “In times of crisis, the Ulama and educated leaders must show the way. Even decades after independence, Bangladesh has yet to establish a humane and responsible society. The nation relies on ulama to guide it through difficulties.”
“Their [Ulama] active role in societal management will eradicate wrongdoing. An educated few may harm the nation, but not millions of ordinary people; here, the Ulama have a special responsibility to awaken and alert the nation,” he said.

British MPs Call For An Early & Inclusive Polls In Bangladesh; Criticise Human Rights Situation
By Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury
Oct 05, 2025

Seven members of parliament (MPs) in the UK, along with a member of the House of Lords, have asked the interim regime in Bangladesh to organize an early election while expressing concern that the prevailing political situation and human rights violations are threatening the country’s electoral process.
In a letter published on Saturday in The Times, the MPs criticised the human rights situation and political crisis in Bangladesh. They alleged that the interim regime has been in power for more than a year, during which incidents of judicial overreach and violations of citizens’ rights have increased.
The MPs alleged that some political parties are being excluded from the upcoming elections, in what is a threat to the transparency and fairness of the electoral process. They also highlighted attacks and violence against minority communities.
The letter called on the British government- particularly the Foreign Office- and the international community to ensure the enforcement of international humanitarian law in Bangladesh; safeguard fair justice and civil rights; take appropriate action against perpetrators; support the holding of a peaceful election and a stable civilian government.
The MPs who signed the letter include: Steven Powles KC, lawyer, King’s Counsel; Bob Blackman, member of the UK Parliament; Jas Athwal, member of the UK Parliament; Neil Coyle, member of the UK Parliament; Gurinder Singh, member of the UK Parliament; Luke Akehurst, member of the UK Parliament; Baroness Smith of Llanfaes, member of the House of Lords.
The MPs also called for the importance of international oversight and support regarding Bangladesh’s electoral process, human rights situation, and the security of minority communities.

Small bribes may seem harmless but can burn down nations, warns KL MACC chief
05 Oct 2025
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — The practice of offering ‘hush money’ or using small rewards to cover up wrongdoing may seem harmless but is in fact, the root of corruption that can undermine future generations, says Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director Mohamad Zakkuan Talib.
“Parents must instil honesty and trustworthiness from an early age. Don’t normalise giving ‘hush money’ to hide mistakes. Likewise, paying for ‘cables’ (connections) must stop. That’s where corruption begins, often unnoticed,” he said.
Speaking to reporters after the DesaBebasRasuah 2025 programme at Dataran KAMARA, Kampung Malaysia Raya here today, Mohamad Zakkuan noted that corruption rarely starts in boardrooms, as it often begins with small actions that gradually become accepted behaviour.

Sabah DAP to defend all six seats in coming polls, may contest one or two more, says sec-gen
05 Oct 2025
IPOH, Oct 5 — DAP will defend all six seats it previously won in the upcoming Sabah state election.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the party will also contest one or two additional seats in the election, as previously reported when DAP has identified at least two state seats in the interior areas that could potentially be contested by the party’s candidates.
“This time we will contest to defend all six seats plus one or two more seats that we have negotiated and we have discussed to ensure a joint victory,” he said when opening the 23rd Perak DAP State Annual Convention here today.
In the 16th Sabah election, DAP contested seven seats and won six seats, namely Luyang, Likas, Kapayan, Sri Tanjong, Elopura, TanjongPapat.
Meanwhile, when met by reporters and asked if DAP would tighten its candidate selection following the party’s previous betrayal, Loke said the party was not worried but confident in its replacement leaders in Sabah.
“Indeed, in the party we have a clause in our party constitution on someone who betrays the party after winning on the strength of the party. If he jumps to another party then we can say that he is disqualified as a party member.

Brickfields Deepavali bazaar traders to get deposit refunds soon, deputy minister says after backlash
05 Oct 2025
SUNGAI BULOH, Oct 5 — Traders at the Brickfields Deepavali Bazaar, who faced delays in starting operations, will have their deposits refunded soon, said Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
He said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has replaced the earlier tents in Brickfields’ Little India area with sturdier, more spacious and more comfortable ones to ensure the safety and convenience of both traders and shoppers.
Ramanan also clarified the misconception that he or the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) were directly involved in organising the annual bazaar, explaining that it is a collaboration between DBKL and Bank Rakyat.
"Our office only stepped in after the issues surfaced; we were not aware of the arrangements earlier. Once we were informed, I raised the matter during our post-Cabinet meeting.
"We are now working closely with DBKL to ensure everything runs smoothly. Those who previously commented that the tents would collapse should come and see for themselves that the new marquee tents are safe and secure,” he told reporters after officiating the flag-off of the Deepavali Vanakam Madani nationwide food basket distribution here today.

Not a concession: Foreign minister says signing Israeli release form was to get Malaysians home faster
05 Oct 2025
SEREMBAN, Oct 5 — The decision requiring Malaysians who joined the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission to sign the ‘Request for Immediate Departure’ form after being detained at Ketziot Prison, Israel, was made to expedite their repatriation process and does not signal concession, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He said the move was part of the standard operating procedure (SOP), which had been communicated earlier to the delegation by the humanitarian mission secretariat, as detention by the Zionist regime was anticipated based on previous missions.
“When they sign the form, they do not have to go through the complex legal process. We are not certain how the legal process in Israel works, and it is very likely that they would have been detained for a longer period if they had not signed. Therefore, this step has helped to expedite their release.
“GSF is not a terrorist mission, but a peace mission to protest against Israeli atrocities. They did not carry any weapons on board, so do not misunderstand - some may argue that we are conceding by signing the form, but we are not. This is diplomacy carried out in a calm and tactful manner,” he told reporters after attending the Masjid Sheikh Haji Ahmad Mawlid Carnival here today.
The Rembau Member of Parliament said that signing the release form also helped to facilitate diplomatic efforts, as Malaysia does not have official relations with Israel and relies on assistance from friendly nations, including Turkiye, Jordan and Egypt.

Teo urges Malaysians to stand behind Gaza flotilla volunteers, calls mission a symbol of peace
05 Oct 2025
KULAI, Oct 5 — Deputy Communications Minister TeoNieChing has urged all parties to strongly support the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza, which involved volunteers from the country, as it carried a message of peace and humanity.
She said the government appreciated the spirit and courage of the volunteers who joined the mission in an effort to help the people of Palestine facing suffering due to the prolonged conflict following the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime.
“Those who participated went on a very noble humanitarian mission. I was told that they have all safely reached Istanbul and will return home soon.
“I have no information regarding the taking down of GSF-related sensitive content on social media. On this matter (GSF), let’s support them together instead of debating (over it),” she told reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the Run For The Future 2025, a corporate social responsibility programme, at Hutan Bandar Kulai today.

Hamas negotiator appears in public after failed Israeli assassination attempt in Doha
Mohammed Al Ragawi
05.10.2025
Khalil al-Hayya, the head of Hamas’ negotiating delegation, appeared in public for the first time Sunday following a failed Israeli assassination attempt in Doha, saying that the ongoing killing and destruction in Gaza overshadow the personal pain of losing his children.
A short video released by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas showed Hayya addressing the public, saying: “What I see every day of killing and destruction in Gaza makes me forget the pain of losing my children and loved ones.”
The assassination attempt occurred on Sept. 9 when the Israeli military launched an airstrike targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar’s capital.
Hamas reported that its negotiating delegation, led by Hayya, survived the attack, but his office director Jihad Labad, his son Homam al-Hayya, and three aides were killed.

Donald Trump Says Israel Agreed To 'Withdrawal Line,' Hamas Confirmation Would Trigger Immediate Ceasefire
05.10.25
US President Donald Trump said in a social media post on Saturday that Israel has agreed to an "initial withdrawal line" for Gaza, which has also been shared with Hamas.
Trump said "when Hamas confirms," a ceasefire will be effective "immediately" and a prisoner exchange will begin, setting the stage for the next phase of Israel's withdrawal from the Palestinian enclave.
“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the hostages and prisoner exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000-year catastrophe. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and STAY TUNED!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Asserting that he wouldn't tolerate "any delay", Trump warned Hamas to cease fighting and lay down its arms or else "all bets will be off". He also assured again that Israel and Hamas will be kept on board with the fragile agreement.

Israel strikes Gaza as Palestinians pin hopes on Trump Gaza plan
By Nidal Al-Mughrabi
October 5, 2025
CAIRO/JERUSALEM Oct 5 (Reuters) - Israeli planes and tanks pounded areas across the Gaza Strip overnight and on Sunday, destroying several residential buildings, witnesses said, as traumatised Palestinians hoped a U.S. plan to end the warwould soon ease their suffering.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who had called for an end to the bombing, said on Saturday on his Truth Social platform that Israel had agreed to an "initial withdrawal line" inside Gaza and that "when Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective."
Israel escalated its offensive as Egypt prepares to host delegates from Hamas, Israel and the United States, and Qatar, to kick off talks over the implementation of the most advanced effort yet to halt the conflict.
Hamas had drawn a welcoming response from Trump on Friday by saying it accepted certain key parts of his 20-point peace proposal, including ending the war, Israel's withdrawal, and the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian captives.

Trump reveals phone call that pushed Israel to agree to ceasefire as president reveals next step to end war
James Moorhouse
5 Oct 2025
Donald Trump has revealed the phone call that pushed Israel to 'agree' on a ceasefire and suggested the next steps which need to be taken before the war can end.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back to the end of the nineteenth century but Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 2023, almost immediately following the Hamas-led attack.
Hamas is a nationalist political organisation who have kept hostages from Israel over the past two years, and their release could be key in bringing an end to the conflict which has left thousands dead and Gaza in ruin.
Trump has boasted about his ability to bring wars to an end, recently taking responsibility for ending 'seven', although his peace talks with Vladimir Putin earlier this year so far seem to have been fruitless, as Russia continues to attack Ukraine.
However, it appears as if his phone call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have been a huge step towards agreeing on a ceasefire between the two countries.

HC nixes plea against razing of Sambhal mosque
Oct 5, 2025
Prayagraj: Allahabad high court on Saturday dismissed "as withdrawn" a petition against the proposed demolition of a mosque in UP's Sambhal district allegedly constructed on public land along a pond.
Justice Dinesh Pathak passed the order after an urgent hearing on the petition by the management committee of "Masjid Shareef Gosulbara, Ravan, Bujurgm". The order comes almost a year after violence over a court-ordered survey at the Jama Masjid in Sambhal left four protesters dead.
On Saturday, the management of Masjid Shareef argued that the mosque had been serving the local Muslim community since 2009 peacefully and local authorities had provided no proper notice or opportunity of hearing before passing the demolition order last month.
On the other hand, the govt counsel contended that the plea was not maintainable and the petitioners must approach the local revenue (collector's) court.

India warns Pakistan on Sir Creek
Ramesh Ramachandran
05-10-2025
On 2nd October when India celebrated the festival of Dussehra, the country’s defence minister visited the front lines. Minister Rajnath Singh spent time at the Bhuj Military Station in the western state of Gujarat, bordering Pakistan. He addressed troops guarding the Rann of Kutch, a salt marsh in the Thar Desert, in the Kutch District of the state. At more than 7,500 square kilometres, it is one of the largest salt deserts in the world. He performed a traditional Hindu ritual, called Shastra Puja, blessing the weapons that keep India’s borders safe and then he dropped a bombshell warning to Pakistan.
He said: “During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan attempted, unsuccessfully, to undermine India’s defence posture from Leh to the Sir Creek area. Pakistan’s recent buildup of military infrastructure around Sir Creek makes its intentions clear. India’s borders are being guarded by the Army and the B.S.F. together. Should Pakistan undertake any misadventure in the Sir Creek area, it will be met with such a decisive response that it would alter both history and geography.”
The minister did not stop at that. He harked back to 1965, reminding the adversary that the Indian Army had reached Lahore. He said in the same breath that today, 60 years on, one route to Karachi passes through Sir Creek! Don’t test India’s patience, is what the minister seemed to be telling Pakistan, in a not-so-subtle nudge. If you’re wondering what happened in 1965: That year, tensions boiled over in the Rann of Kutch itself — very close to where Minister Singh visited. Pakistan launched Operation Desert Hawk in April that year, a sneaky probe with tanks and infantry to test India’s defences. India pushed back hard and soon it lit the fuse for a bigger India — Pakistan War in August of that year.
Reports suggest that the Pakistani Army has been ramping up military infrastructure near Sir Creek. Military infrastructure would generally include everything from forward posts and better roads for quick troop movements to, possibly, even fortified bunkers. The reports, which are based on satellite imagery and intelligence, showed that some of the said infrastructure is of recent vintage. Apparently, they popped up only in the last few months after India conducted Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the 22nd April terror attack at Pahalgam. This new infrastructure had been built probably in response to Pakistan’s spectacular failure to push drones and probes from Leh all the way down to Sir Creek in the immediate aftermath of Operation Sindoor.
If Indian military planners are to be believed, Pakistan has been expanding its military presence near Sir Creek for some time now. For instance, the Pakistani Navy maintains a base at Sir Creek for littoral defence and amphibious operations. It includes barracks at Rah-de-Pir, just two kilometres from the creek’s Pakistani bank. Capable of housing dozens of personnel, the barracks are reported to be active. Plans are afoot to deploy additional infantry and amphibious battalions in the region. Pakistan has also bolstered coastal surveillance with offshore patrol vessels, hovercraft and marine assault boats. Its air assets include maritime-patrol aircraft stationed umanaat the nearby Mehran and Karachi bases.

Muslim Students Federation, SFI protest after teachers halt pro-Palestine mime show in Kerala school
October 04, 2025
The Muslim Students Federation (MSF) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) staged protests at a school in Kasaragod, Kerala, on Saturday (October 4, 2025) after teachers allegedly stopped a mime show in support of Palestine.
According to the police, the mime show was stopped during the school arts festival at Kumbala Government Higher Secondary School on Friday. Two teachers intervened and asked the students to stop the performance before pulling down the stage curtains, they said.
However, activists of MSF, the student wing of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), barged into the meeting demanding action against the teachers. The protesters alleged that teachers locked students in a room to stop the event.
The police later removed the protesters from the premises, and personnel have been deployed on the campus to prevent any untoward incident.

Afghanistan heading towards further economic progress, interferences harmful
October 5, 2025
Afghanistan has long been deprived of economic development, as the past corrupt regimes have just been working for their own offspring and relatives. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, after power resumption in 2021, successfully implemented thousands of small and mega projects across the country.
The launch of the vital projects and the strengthening of economic and trade relations with the neighboring and regional countries are among the most effective efforts of the Islamic Emirate that have not been made by the previous governments over the past twenty years of foreign occupation.
The launch of thousands of projects and trade agreements signed both locally and regionally is a constructive measure adopted by the current system for the war-torn nation over the last few years of power resumption, after the foreign forces’ expulsion from the country. On the other hand, it’s a move to convince the international community that the incumbent government is working hard for its people’s economic prosperity and wants relations between Afghanistan and the world to be based on economics and national interests in line with the Islamic Sharia that negates all subversive interferences from aliens.

Police suspect 'radical Islam link' to Manchester synagogue attack
By Pramod Thomas
Oct 04, 2025
A MAN who launched a car-ramming and stabbing attack on a British synagogue on Yom Kippur may have been inspired by Islamist extremism, police said, as emotions ran high after the atrocity.
In Thursday's (2) attack two men, Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, were killed after a British man of Syrian descent drove a car into pedestrians and then began stabbing people outside Manchester's Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
But police said one of the dead may have been inadvertently shot by armed officers. One of the wounded was also shot in the emergency response. The suspect, Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, who was wearing a fake explosives vest, was also killed by police.
In a statement on Friday (3) evening, Greater Manchester Police head of counter-terrorism policing Laurence Taylor said Shamie did not appear to have been on their radar but had been arrested and bailed previously on suspicion of rape.

Goodluck Jonathan: I Never Accused Buhari Of Boko Haram Ties
by Oscar Okhifo
October 4, 2025
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has refuted media reports claiming he accused the late President Muhammadu Buhari of having links with Boko Haram, describing the allegations as a deliberate distortion of his comments at a recent public event.
In a statement on Saturday, Jonathan’s media aide, IkechukwuEze, described the reports as “false and misleading,” insisting that the former president’s remarks at the launch of a book by retired Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, were deliberately twisted.
“The attention of the Office of Former President GoodluckEbele Jonathan has been drawn to misleading reports suggesting that Dr Jonathan alleged that Boko Haram nominated the late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, to represent them in dialogue with the Federal Government, and therefore this made him somehow complicit in the Boko Haram crisis,” the statement read.
Eze said Jonathan’s comments were grossly misrepresented, stressing that at no time did he suggest, imply, or insinuate that Buhari had any connection with Boko Haram or supported the group in any form.
Jonathan explained that his remarks referred to a documented incident in which Boko Haram falsely named prominent Nigerians as potential mediators without their consent, a ploy he described as part of the group’s strategy to sow confusion and undermine public confidence in government.

Awqaf initiative helping patients with eye diseases
05 Oct 2025
Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs continues to strengthen social solidarity and human welfare through its Endowment Fund for Healthcare.
Among its leading initiatives is the “Ibsar Endowment,” a specialised and pioneering model dedicated to the treatment and care of patients with eye diseases. The initiative reflects the integration of Islamic values with humanitarian goals, aligning with the objectives of Sharia in preserving life and intellect.
The Ibsar Endowment represents a sustainable development project that invests the contributions of generous donors, directing the proceeds permanently to support treatment, prevention, and public awareness programs. It also helps supply healthcare institutions with advanced medical equipment and builds strategic partnerships with medical centers to ensure the continuity of support and promote social solidarity within the community.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Dr. Sultan Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Professor of Fiqh at Qatar University’s College of Sharia, said that the Ibsar Endowment is one of the most important specialised endowment models in healthcare, particularly for eye patients. He explained that healthcare endowments stem from the Qur’anic call to righteousness and charity, quoting the verse: “And whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” He also cited the Prophet’s (PBUH) saying: “Treat your sick through charity.”
Dr. Al-Hashemi emphasised that the Sunnah places great importance on caring for the sick, viewing prevention and treatment as pathways to divine reward. The Ibsar Endowment, he noted, embodies these values by supporting eye treatment and helping patients regain the gift of sight.

Muslims accused of vandalizing church in Texas argue First Amendment right, so far jurors disagree
By Bethany Blankley
October 4, 2025
Three Muslims charged in connection with vandalizing a church in Euless, Texas, last year argue doing so was their First Amendment right.
Alam was one of three charged in connection to the vandalization of a nondenominational church, Uncommon Church in Euless, in Tarrant County in March 2024. They are accused of spray-painting “expletive Israel” and affixing pro-Palestinian/Hamas stickers on the exterior of the church building, among other actions recorded on a church security camera.
District Attorney Phil Sorrells initially charged them with felony criminal mischief. The charges were later increased to a third-degree felony hate crime, which carries a sentence of two to 10 years in prison. It was increased to a hate crime because the perpetrators targeted a church because of religion, the prosecution argued.
Judge Brian Bolton issued a sentence of five years probation. Alam was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and $1,700 in restitution to the church. His probation terms include serving 180 days in jail, conducting 180 hours of community service, undergoing regular drug and alcohol testing, wearing a GPS monitor and issuing an apology to the church.
Alam was next indicted on a charge of committing perjury, and he faces a drug possession charge. His attorney argues her client is being targeted.
Co-defendant Afsheen Khan was also charged with felony criminal mischief, and her trial is set to start soon. A third defendant, Julia Venzor, agreed to testify against Alam and Khan as part of a plea deal. She pleaded guilty in exchange for the deal and also received five years of probation, WFAA News reported.

Why Rabbi Mukhayriq Gave His Life For Prophet Muhammad
By Rabbi Allen S. Maller
October 5, 2025
According to both the Bible and the Qur’an, since the days of Adam and Eve certain select humans in the distant past have heard the One God speaking to them. These people are usually called Prophets in the Abrahamic religions. And the Hebrew Scriptures, the Greek New Testament, and the Arabic Qur’an all agree that in the future, at Judgement Day; there will be a very few select humans who will relate God’s words to all humanity.
These future Messengers usually have a special name or title like: Messiah son of Joseph, Messiah son of David, or Elijah in Judaism, Jesus’ second coming in Christianity, or the Mahdi in Islam. Since these future End of Days Messengers were forecast more than a millennium or two ago; their details will only become clear to us when they arrive. All we need to know is that they will indeed come as a fulfillment of God’s goal for humanity.
Just as the followers of Jesus son of Mary were disappointed that most Jews did not accept Jesus as a Messiah; the followers of Muhammad were disappointed that most Jews and Christians did not accept Muhammad as a Prophet. As the Qur’an states: “Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognize him (Mohammad) as they recognize their sons (in a crowd). But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it (2:146).
Christians did not accept Muhammad as a legitimate prophet because they believed Jesus was a part of a Holy Trinity and the Qur’an explicitly states: “The Messiah (Jesus) the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary, a soul from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say Three: desist! – it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son.” (Qur’an 4:171)
Why did God wait almost six centuries before sending Prophet Muhammad to mankind? I think it was the Plague of Justinian (died November 14, 565) that killed many millions of people in the Near East and Europe first appeared in the historical record in Egypt, before spreading throughout the Eastern Roman, or Byzantine, Empire. Yersinia pestis, the microbe that causes plague, was definitively linked as the pathogen to the Justinian Plague (541-700) marking the world’s first known pandemic.
Was Prophet Muhammad, who lived from 570-632, sent at this time (and not any other time) to be a messenger of God’s mercy? “And We have sent you (O Muhammad) only as a mercy for mankind, jinns and all that exists.” [Qur’an 21:107]
And why did the Jews of Medina not support Prophet Muhammad? I think most of them were afraid that after the death of Prophet Muhammad, his ex-pagan polytheism followers would turn him into a son of God and worship him, just as the followers of Jesus turned him into a Son of God and not only worshipped him but persecuted Jews who would not worship Jesus.
In 404 CE Jewish citizens of the Roman Empire were excluded from certain governmental posts. In 418, they were barred from the civil service, and from all military positions. In 425, they were excluded from all remaining public offices, both civilian and military. In 438, Emperor Theodosius reaffirmed the prohibition on Jews holding public office, and in 527, this prohibition was again renewed.
