All the Lancashire mosques taking part in ‘Visit My
Mosque Day’ To Find Out More About The Islamic Faith
The Darussalam
Education Centre on Whalley New Road in Blackburn is taking part in the Visit
My Mosque project
----
By Shuiab Khan
3rd September 2022
A variety of events have been arranged this weekend
(September 3 and 4) for anyone wanting to find out more about the Islamic faith
and the role mosques play in the lives of people on a day-to-day basis.
Led by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), Visit My
Mosque aims to promote better outreach and engagement work between mosques and
local communities.
A number of mosques in Blackburn, Burnley, Preston and
Nelson have announced they will join more than 200 mosques across the UK by
hosting the open day events.
Molana Rafiq Sufi, Chair of Lancashire Council of
Mosques (LCM) said: “We support the Visit My Mosque initiative each year as it
helps people from across our communities can get more understanding of Islam
and their Muslim neighbours.
In Burnley people can visit the Ibrahim Masjid, off
Elm Street, and the UKIM Madina Masjid, in Manchester Road, Nelson is also
taking part.
Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain,
Zara Mohammed, said: “Now in its seventh year, Visit My Mosque continues to see
Mosques across the UK open their doors to local communities, providing a space
in which conversation, understanding and friendship can develop, whilst also
helping challenge misconceptions around Islam and Muslims.
“With such a diverse range of Mosques taking part,
each with their own unique story, and history, I am confident this weekend will
provide guests of all faiths and none with a fantastic opportunity to connect
with local Muslim communities, and gain a deeper sense of who Muslims are, what
their sacred spaces mean to them and the positive contributions of Muslim
communities to British society.

India Awaits Access To Uzbek Islamic State Bomber
Azamov, Questionnaire Sent To Russia
Uzbek Islamic State bomber
Azamoz. (PTI)
----
By Shishir Gupta
Sep 04, 2022
Indian security agencies have sent a questionnaire to
their Russian counterparts, the Federal Security Service (FSB), seeking
extensive details about detained Uzbek Islamic State bomber Azamoz even as
reports indicate that his associate Kyrgyz national has apparently been killed
in Turkey after he abandoned his India mission. The FSB announced the detention
of 30-year-old Azamov on August 22, 2022, while discreetly tipping off Indian
agencies in late July.
While Indian agencies in touch with their Russian and
Uzbek counterparts to gain physical access to Azamov, no forward movement has
been recorded till now and the replies to the questionnaire are still awaited.
Radicalized online and trained by Islamic State in Turkey, Azamov was tasked to
avenge the apparent insult to Prophet by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Another
Kyrgyz national was also prepared for the same task via Moscow but the Islamic
State terrorist went back to Turkey with latest reports indicating that he was
killed.
Although reports from Moscow indicate that Azamov was
to be given his Indian contact once he landed in the country, the Indian
security agencies are hunting to unearth the radicals of the Islamic State and
their handlers in West Asian countries like Turkey, Qatar, and Kuwait. The
Islamic State espouses Wahabbi Islam and is opposed to Deobandi Taliban and
Salafi Al Qaida terrorist groups. Since 2014, the Islamic State is competing
with Al Qaida and Taliban to become the global leader of religious extremism.
The situation becomes more complex in West Asia with
the presence of the powerful Muslim Brotherhood, which has an international
media channel in its support, and has support groups in various parts of the
country including India. The spotlight on Nupur Sharma was brought by the
Muslim Brotherhood-dominated countries of Qatar, Kuwait, and Turkey with help
of their Indian affiliates. Countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE have banned the
Brotherhood, which is the key sponsor of terror against Israel through the
Hamas group.
After the remarks by Nupur Sharma, the Indian security
agencies have activated their networks to pick up any terror attack planning or
plans to target any Indian VVIP. It is in this context that the questioning of
Azamov by Indian agencies is critical to spotlight on Islamic State network and
overground supporters in India.

Inspiration From Prophet Muhammad’s (Pbuh) Household
Key to Islamic Republic’s Resilience
Inspiration From Ahl al-Bayt
Key to Islamic Republic’s Resilience
-----
September 03, 2022
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali
Khamenei highlighted the inspiration coming from Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH)
Household as the key to the resilience of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Those sparkling stars taught us with their
theoretical knowledge and practical conduct how to move on the course of dear
Islam by being resourceful and acting on the Quran,” he said in an address to a
meeting of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly on Saturday, Leader.ir reported.
He described the teachings of Prophet Muhammad’s
(PBUH) Household as a complete collection of what individuals and communities
need, stressing that Muslim societies are in serious need of Ahl al-Bayt
knowledge today.
“The world assembly needs to fulfill this heavy duty
[of disseminating Ahl-al-Bayt knowledge] by careful and proper planning and use
of reasonable methods and influential means,” he said.
The Leader then pointed to the Islamic Republic’s
raised flag in opposition to arrogance, saying the followers of Ahl al-Bayt and
world Shias are proud to see an Islamic government resisting domineering powers
and foiling many of their plots.
The Islamic Republic’s flag is one of justice and
spirituality, according to Ayatollah Khamenei, and it is natural for it to face
hostility by hegemonic powers, including the United States on top of the global
arrogance front, whose beliefs and practices are rooted in the material world,
money and force.
Encouraging other countries to stand up to bullying is
among other reasons for the anger and hostility of domineering powers, he said.
Thwarting the US criminal schemes in various
countries, such as the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group, have
triggered them to start campaigns of promoting anti-Iran and anti-Shia
sentiment and to accuse Iran of interfering in other countries’ affairs, the
Leader noted.
He stressed that Iran does not interfere in the
affairs of other countries and such allegations by hegemons stem from their
desperation and inability to prevent the progress of the Islamic Republic.
Ayatollah Khamenei later said the Muslim world is able
to force the global arrogance back given its spiritual and material capacities.
Islamic teachings, reliance on God, a hopeful outlook
and the concept of savior are among spiritual benefits of the Muslim world, he
said, while natural material capacities for progress are also abundant in
Islamic lands, an example of which is oil and gas whose importance has become
globally known today.
The Leader later emphasized that the establishment of
the Ahl al-Bayt assembly was not aimed at opposition and enmity with non-Shias
and the group has always cooperated with non-Shia groups who move on the right
track.
“We have always invited all Muslim countries to
disregard issues such as ‘Shia and Sunni’, ‘Arab and non-Arab’, and other such
divisions, and to act based on the principles [of Islam],” he said.
Inspired by the Quran, The late Founder of the Islamic
Revolution, Imam Khomeini, taught everyone to put all unreal divisions among
Islamic communities aside and recognize only one dividing line between the
Muslim world and the world of disbelief and arrogance, the Leader said.
“The present policy of the arrogance is highlighting
differences and unreal divisions in the Muslim world,” he said, calling for
vigilance against US plots for warmongering between Muslim groups.
Based on the same approach, Ayatollah Khamenei said,
the Islamic Republic placed the issue of Palestine on top of its agenda from
the first day and continues to sticks with the same policy today.

The Sunday Times reports that the UK government is

The newspaper said the plan would require evidence for
more than a year that at least 60 per cent of voters want a new referendum on

Palestinian rights activists show why the Muslim
world’s struggle for justice is best served by non-violence
Chandra Muzaffar
4 Sep, 2022
Islam’s deep affinity for peace is perhaps best
illustrated by the fact that the word “Islam” implies peace through engaged
surrender to God, to the Divine Will.
There are a number of passages in the Koran that
demonstrate its commitment to peace, especially the peaceful resolution of
disputes. The Prophet Mohammed’s life and struggle also offer numerous
instances of his inclination towards peace. It is well known that he even
delayed the conquest of Mecca, much to the chagrin of his followers, to
minimise violence and bloodshed.

JI emir urges political leadership to focus on flood
relief efforts
Staff Reporter
September 4, 2022
RAWALPINDI: Acting Emir of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI)
Liaquat Baloch on Saturday said the political leadership should help the flood
victims instead of locking horns with each other by organising a series of
public meetings.
He claimed the recent floods left more than 350
million people homeless besides destroying roads, bridges, schools, mosques,
hospitals, hotels and other infrastructure, something more horrible than the
2005 earthquake and 2010 floods.
