Iran Blasts Wahhabism As Mother of ISIL Says It Is the Spawn of the Takfiri Ideology of Wahhabism, Created For the Political and Security Objectives of the Hegemonic System
February 09, 2016
TEHRAN (FNA) - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani lashed out at the extremist ideology of Wahhabism, arguing that it is what created the ISIL terrorist group in the first place.
"ISIL is the spawn of the Takfiri ideology of Wahhabism, created for the political and security objectives of the hegemonic system," Shamkhani added, addressing the forum of 'Coalition of Elites against Terrorism' in Tehran on Tuesday.
He underlined that ISIL is designed to promote the Takfiri ideology, its threat is not limited to the region, and the fight against it should never be limited to the region.
"All terrorist outfits are created to serve the interests of certain powers and their regional minions. They all also have an expiry date." Shamkhani noted.
According to the Iranian official, some of the countries which advocate the ongoing war on ISIL are also the ones that support certain terrorist outfits, inlcuding the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as MEK, PMOI, NCRI).
In relevant remarks last year, Commander of Iran’s Basij Volunteer Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi had underlined the necessity for plans to confront Wahhabism as an immediate danger threatening the region.
"The arrogant world, headed by the US, has resorted to deception to undermine unity among the Muslim Iranian nation by creating rifts and differences to stir Shiite-Sunni strife and war to destroy the united lineup of the Ummah standing against it," he said.
He also described Takfiri groups as the result of the penetration of the western spy agencies, especially from Britain, and said, "Takfir is the result of a London-created religion which eventually ends up in Wahhabism, Bahai'sm and religious hereditary."

Indian Sunni scholars: Wahhabism has no relation with Islam
February 9, 2016244
A group of Indian Sunni scholars slammed Wahhabism as a part of Saudi policies which has nothing to do with Islam.
A group of Indian Barelvi Sunni clerics attending counter-terrorism conference in the capital New Delhi issued a statement denouncing the ideologies of Wahhabism and Saudi Arabia as the main fund for the deviate group, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Sunni clerics in this conference demanded Indian government to sack all Wahhabi agents from the cabinet.
Barelvi scholars in this conference warned against expansion of extremism among Muslims saying that the deviate sect is fed by Saudi and Qatari petrodollars.
They also warned against Daesh terrorist group which is active in India under different titles and the conferences held in the country to announce their presence and assure their supporters in Saudi Arabia and Qatar of their stance as well as efforts in line with interests of their backers in the Arab states.

Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation Has Termed Maulana Abdul Aziz’s ‘Pardon’ To Musharraf against Sharia
February 9th, 2016
ISLAMABAD: Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation has termed Maulana Abdul Aziz’s decision to withdraw the murder case against former president Pervez Musharraf against the spirit of Sharia.
The foundation held a meeting in Lal Masjid on Monday and declared that Maulana Aziz had imposed a ‘clergy dictatorship’ on his family to hide the tyranny of a military dictator.
The meeting was followed by a press conference at the same place where a day earlier Maulana Aziz had addressed media persons and pardoned everybody responsible for the 2007 military operation on the mosque and the attached seminary, Jamia Hafsa.
Though the chairperson of Shuhada Foundation is Ume Hasaan, the wife of Maulana Aziz who was sitting beside her husband at the time of his media talk, the other office-bearers of the foundation, including its president Tariq Asad advocate, are opposing the decision.
“This decision is against Sharia and we would like Maulana Abdul Aziz to take it back,” Mr Asad said, adding: “Maulana Aziz is talking about the implementation of Sharia in the country but his own acts are contrary to the principles of Sharia.”
He said he and Shuhada Foundation never bowed to any pressure or offer by anybody, including the former military dictator.
Mr Asad said the former general himself had wanted the Shuhada Foundation to take back the murder case of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi but we declined to accept his demand.
“The dictator was even ready to submit a public apology and made four other offers but we rejected them,” he claimed.
The other three offers as stated by Mr Asad were: payment of blood money to the heirs of those killed in the military operation, rebuilding of Jamia Hafsa from his own pocket at its old place - the children library - and to be witness against those who were responsible for the military operation.
“We rejected it and we announce to continue the legal and constitutional struggle against all those responsible for the military operation on Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa in 2007,” Mr Asad said.
The Shuhada Foundation also announced to lodge a fresh FIR against Gen Musharraf and other military officers of that time, the then prime minister, Shaukat Aziz, and other cabinet members for the 2007 military operation.

ISIS executioner Jihadi John's 'Beatles' terror gang unmasked
PTI | Feb 9, 2016
LONDON: British accomplices of slain Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist executioner "Jihadi John" were unmasked on Monday as Londoners who formed part of a so-called "Beatles" terror gang.
Mohammed Emwazi became known as "John" in reference to John Lennon, lead singer of the iconic British rock group, due to his English accent.
Emwazi was killed in a US drone strike in Raqqa, Syria, last November following his masked appearance in gruesome propaganda videos showing him executing hostages with a knife.
It has now emerged that two of his gang members with English accents were given the nickname of "Paul" and "Ringo", a reference to other Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
"Paul" has been identified as 31-year-old Aine Davis, who is in custody in Turkey for suspected terrorism, and "Ringo" as 32-year-old Alexe Kotey, a Londoner of Ghanaian and Greek-Cypriot background whose whereabouts are unknown.
The identity of the fourth member dubbed "George", referring to George Harrison, has yet to be confirmed.
Davis' wife, 27-year-old Amal el-Wahabi, became the first woman to be jailed for terrorism offences connected to Syria in 2014 after she was caught paying a smuggler 20,000 euros in cash for her husband in Turkey.
The group are believed to be responsible for the beheadings of around 27 mostly Western hostages.
Kotey travelled to Gaza in 2009 on an aid convoy organised by Viva Palestina, led by UK Respect Party MP George Galloway, a BuzzFeed report said.
"I have never heard of him until today. It would appear he was on the list (for the Gaza convoy). Having looked at his picture, I do not recognise him. ISIS did not exist when we took the convoy," Galloway said.
The terrorist "Beatles" were friends long before they travelled to Syria, according to ITV News.
Kotey converted to Islam in his teens and all three men attended the Al-Manaar mosque in Ladbroke Grove, west London, which rejected their hardline opinions.
Saleha Islam, director of the al-Manaar mosque, told the news channel "We are aware that certain people have joined ISIS who live in the area of Ladbroke Grove. We have always condemned the actions of these extremists and will continue to do so.
"Al-Manaar is a centre where we have up to 3,000 people attending every week, it is not a membership club and anyone can come and pray. The suggestion that the mosque has radicalised young men shows how ignorant people are of Islam and how mosques work," Islam said.
Other terror suspects who fall within the so-called "Beatles" gang due to their links to Britain - if still alive - remain among the world's most wanted and are being hunted by western intelligence and security services, according to UK media reports.

Turkey, Germany to take joint diplomatic initiative to stop refugee crisis
February 08, 2016
Turkey and Germany agreed on Monday to cooperate closely and take a set of measures to deal with the Syrian refugee crisis including a joint diplomatic initiative that seeks more NATO involvement, as well as aiming to halt attacks particularly by Russia in Syria's largest city Aleppo.
Russian air strikes north of Aleppo are causing an exodus of thousands of Syrians to Turkey's border. German Chancellor Angela Merkel paid a one-day visit to Turkey on Monday to discuss the refugee crisis. Merkel met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
In a joint press conference with Merkel, Davutoğlu said around 30,000 Syrians had arrived at the Turkish border after fleeing Russian air strikes in the north of Aleppo, adding, “We are on the verge of another humanitarian crisis.” He said Turkey and Germany have agreed on a set of steps to halt the flow of refugees from Syria, including stopping the onslaught in Aleppo.

The United States has said it understands Turkey's longstanding concerns over Syria's Kurdish militias, but that it does not view them as a terrorist group and will continue supporting them in the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
"We do not recognize the [Democratic Union Party] PYD as a terrorist organization. We recognize Turks do," US State Department spokesman John Kirby told a daily press briefing this week. The remarks are expected to come as a surprise to Ankara, who asked Washington to choose sides: either Turkey or the PYD.

Terror Talks on Agenda for UAE Prince’s Trip to India

NEW DELHI/ABU DHABI: India and UAE will seek to further strengthen their bond when Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayad Al Nahyan, who is the deputy supreme commander of UAE's armed forces, visits India starting Wednesday.
While as many as 16 pacts are expected to be signed, including one for civil nuclear energy cooperation, UAE ambassador to India Ahmed Al Banna said the two countries will also discuss ways to prevent radicalisation and counter terrorism cooperation. How to deal with IS was another important issue, said the envoy, which was going to feature in the Crown Prince's interaction with Indian politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
UAE, which has deported about a dozen Indians with suspected links to the terror group, said on Monday that its anti-terror cooperation with India is going to get "more institutionalised".

26/11 attacks: ISI provides financial, military support to Lashkar, David Coleman Headley says
Rebecca Samervel | TNN | Feb 9, 2016
MUMBAI: Testifying before a Mumbai court for the second day on Tuesday, terrorist-turned-approver David Coleman Headley disclosed that "Pakistan's ISI provides financial support to Lashkar-e-Taiba(LeT).
"David Headley said that ISI provides financial, moral as well as military support to Lashkar," special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told reporters after Headley's deposition.
"I was working for ISI also and met many people from Pakistani Army," Headley said. Headley, however, denied that he was paid handsomely by the ISI or LeT for his services.
Continuing his deposition via videoconferencing before special judge GA Sanap from a US jail, Headley said that in 2006, ISI official Major Pasha and LeT functionary Sajid Mir and others met to discuss plans to set up a business for (him) Headley in Mumbai.
Later, in November 2007, he met LeT top leaders when the proposed terror attacks on Mumbai were planned in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, he told special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.

26/11 Mumbai attacks ‘approver’ yawns and sniggers
Rebecca Samervel | TNN | Feb 9, 2016
MUMBAI: Even as proceedings commenced in a quiet courtroom on Monday, David Coleman Headley appeared unfazed. Appearing for the second time before the same court in what is becoming his trademark demeanour, Headley smiled, sniggered and sounded terse and impatient in response to certain questions posed by special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam; on one occasion, he even yawned out loud, regardless of the seriousness of the situation.
After the judge arrived, Nikam called out to each of those present alongside Headley. His two lawyers and a district attorney sat at the table with Headley at the centre. As introductions for the judge were made and each of them stood up in turn, Headley was seen smiling and clapping softly. At one point, when Nikam asked him a question on the name of his high school in Pakistan's Punjab province, he was forced to clarify it was called "Cadet College" and was situated in a city called Hasan Abdal. Referring to the fact that the latter was not the name of the school, he said, "Sheher ka naam hain."
Shown his visa application and asked whose picture was on it, he smiled and said, "Looks like me". Headley also pronounced words in the manner in which he heard the prosecution say them. When the proceedings came to a close on day one, Nikam, raising his hand, bid Headley "good night." Headley responded, "Have a nice day."

Bangladesh cancels port to be built by China, India eyes another
Indrani Bagchi | TNN | Feb 8, 2016
New Delhi: With India's relations with Bangladesh on an upswing, New Delhi has expressed interest in developing the neighbour's newest deep sea port, Payra.
It's a big move by India and an expression of the trajectory of strategic ties between the two countries. Separately, Japan may develop another deep sea port, Matarbari, in Cox's Bazar.
As the Asian allies synergise converging interests, Bangladesh has quietly killed the Sonadia project in Cox's Bazar, which was to have been developed by China.
For India, the Sonadia port, as the Hambantota and Gwadar ports, were deemed to be part of China's much talked about "string of pearls" strategy to encircle India in its maritime neighbourhood.

Draft Hindu marriage law crosses first hurdle in Pakistan
February 9th, 2016
ISLAMABAD: After decades of filibustering, a National Assembly committee on Monday approved a draft law on Hindu marriages, paving the way for registering marriages in the minuscule religious minority of Pakistan.
Five Hindu MNAs were specially invited to the deliberations of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice on the Hindu Marriage Bill 2015.
Though delaying tactics continued almost to the last, the committee adopted the bill unanimously after making two amendments to fix the minimum age of the marrying male and female at 18 and making the law applicable to whole country, instead of just the federal territory.
Committee chairman Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk regretted the long-drawn tactical delay in framing family law for the Hindu community.
“It was unbecoming of us Muslims in general and the political leaders in particular. We were required to facilitate the legislation, not obstruct it,” he said while talking to Dawn.
“If we 99pc of the population are afraid of 1pc, we need to look deep inside what we claim to be and what we are,” he added.

Pakistan’s anti-polio efforts ‘worst’ in the country

Incidentally, Islamabad is the only city in Pakistan where private individuals and students, rather than government employees, work as vaccinators, making it almost impossible to hold them accountable for any oversight.
This was revealed during an in-camera meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee last week, held ahead of the upcoming polio eradication campaign – starting from 15th February.

Pak port turns fortress to shield China investment
Reuters | Feb 9, 2016
Gwadar: A heavy police presence, guarded convoys, new checkpoints and troop reinforcements have turned parts of the southern port city of Gwadar into a fortress, as Pakistan's powerful military seeks to protect billions of dollars of Chinese investment.
Securing the planned $46 billion economic corridor of roads, railways and pipelines from northwest China to Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast is a huge challenge in a country where Islamist militants and separatist gunmen are a constant menace.
The armed forces and interior ministry have sent hundreds of extra soldiers and police to Gwadar, the southern hub of the so-called China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and more are on their way. "Soon we'll start hiring 700-800 police to be part of a separate security unit dedicated to Chinese security, and at a later stage a new security division would be formed," Jafer Khan, regional police officer in Gwadar said.

Mass deaths in Syrian jails amount to crime of ‘extermination’, UN says
Reuters | Feb 8, 2016
GENEVA: Detainees held by the Syrian government are being killed on a massive scale amounting to a state policy of "extermination" of the civilian population, a crime against humanity, United Nations investigators said on Monday.
The UN commission of inquiry called on the security council to impose "targeted sanctions" on high-ranking Syrian civilian and military officials responsible for or complicit in deaths, torture and disappearances in custody, but stopped short of naming the suspects.
The independent experts said they had also documented mass executions and torture of prisoners by two jihadist groups, the Nusra Front and Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL. These constituted war crimes and in the case of Islamic State also crimes against humanity, it said.

U.S. to deploy 100s of additional troops to Helmand
By Khaama Press - Tue Feb 09 2016
As the battle between Afghan forces and Taliban toughens and reports suggest that some areas are on the verge of collapse, the United States has decided sending hundreds of additional troops to southern Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
By month’s end, a force described as battalion-strength, consisting of mostly army soldiers, will arrive in Helmand province where US and UK forces have struggled in battles for over a decade to drive out the Taliban, the Guardian reports.
In keeping with Barack Obama’s formal declaration that the US is not engaged in combat, despite elite forces recently participating in an hours-long battle in Helmand, defense officials said the additional troops would not take part in combat. But they will help the existing Helmand force defend itself against Taliban attacks, officials said.
US military officials declined to offer many specifics about an upcoming reinforcement, but they described the mission as primarily aimed at bolstering the performance of the embattled 215th Corps of the Afghan military, through training.
