While the world is obsessed with one bin Laden, there is another one in line, and she too is of a dangerous kind. Meet Wafah Dufour, a sexy Indie/punk musician who likes "being very naughty."

The "boots obsessed" daughter of Osama's half-brother, Yeslam bin Laden and Swiss-Iranian Carmen bin Laden, caught everyone's eye when she posed for a risque men's mag in a bath tub wearing only a necklace and a wine glass in hand.

But life's tough when you have a bin Laden in your surname, and this law graduate from Geneva University who did her masters from the famous Columbia Law School in New York, was forced to adopt her mom's maiden name – Dufour – post September 11. The singer, who is quite the socialite and a fashionista is a regular at movie premiere and fashion shows, like the Marc Jacobs 2008 fashion show like the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring in 2008, and the Sharon Stone starrer "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction" premier in NY in 2006, where she came sporting her patent boots.

This US-born Gemini has her agenda in place, and for her, work comes first. She thinks of Seether and Linkin Park before hunks Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and admits to having pot around "three times a year." And what more? She doesn't believe in commitment, and won't date a "fundamentalist". But she's far reaching, if reports are to be believed she's dated "Encino Man" actor Pauly 'Paul' Shore and has had a fling with John Legend, the famous American singer and the recipient of nine Grammy Awards. But she just wants to be accepted, "I want people to know I'm American...to understand that I'm like anyone in New York."

Reportedly recording her album in London, this 5'5 beauty with dark brown eyes and jet black hair will give up her chance to perform in any Middle Eastern nation as her mother would be too scared that "someone would kill her."

Wafah is well travelled – Los Angeles, Jeddah, Geneva, New York and now London – and is fluent in French (her mother tongue), English and Persian. Wafah is making quite a name for herself as a musician having performed at the famous Notting Hill Arts Club – Death Disco in 2009. Cashing on her surname, her publicist insists on calling her Wafah bin Laden rather than Dufour. "I read Osama is a fan of Whitney Houston so I'm thinking of sampling her on our hook-up to increase the likelihood of Wafah playing it to him," said Black Lips guitarist, who has a fetish for the terrorist. The bin Laden surname is both boon and bane in this scenario.

‘Blasphemer’ Digest Still Available in Maharashtra, complains Urdu Press: Nagpur Ulema demand a ban

New Delhi: May 9, 2011. Continuing its campaign for police action against the publisher of a comics book, Urdu Press reported today that Ulema in Nagpur are Infuriated with the Digest with Prophet’s imaginary photos and discourteous description of his life story being still available in the Market

 An emergency meeting of Central Tanzeem Committee, Nagpur was called after the Isha prayers to discuss the availability of the disputed Diamond Comics having imaginary photos and account of the life of the Prophet (pbuh). The meeting was attended by all the renowned Ulema e Deen and other respectable citizens of the town. Haji Saeed Noori of Reza Academy, Mumbai told the reporters that they have managed to buy the English and Hindi copies of the said digest with the date 30^th April, 2011 on its back cover.

The meeting was presided by the President of the Ulema Committee, Syed Md. Husaini Mian. It was unanimously decided to demand the most severe punishment according to the Constitution of India for the Publisher of the digest so that no one in future could even think of committing such blasphemous acts.

It was also unanimously decided in the meeting to go to the DM and SP of the district and present a Memorandum and demand to lodge an FIR against the Publisher for legal action against him and to ban the digest.

Haji Saeed Noori told the reporters that as far as the publisher giving an apology is concerned, he is merely misguiding the whole nation by saying that this is an old issue of 2008 and no digest has been published after that. He said the publisher is lying and that this copy of the digest is being sold in most parts of the country even today. It is to be noted here that SHO Satbeer Dagar of Jamia Nagar PS checked both the edition of 2008 and 2011 and after studying it said that the publisher is trying to misguide the Police.

Toll rises to 12 in Muslim-Christian clash in Egypt

Violence triggered by rumours of a Muslim-Christian interfaith romance has claimed 12 lives and over 100 injured in the Egyptian capital, with mobs setting fire two churches in one of the worst communal clashes rocking the country in recent times. Prime Minister Essam Sharaf cancelled his visit to B

ahrain and UAE, calling for an emergency Cabinet meeting to discuss the Muslim-Christian violence, state news agency said.

Meanwhile, Egypt's military rulers said, that 190 people arrested in connection with deadly riots will face military trial.

Sharaf had called the meeting to discuss "the regrettable events in Imbaba", Ahmed al-Saman, a cabinet spokesman was quoted as saying by MENA news agency.

There are a number of versions of the story of how the clashed erupted, but all of them include Coptic woman. The first story is that a Coptic woman married a Muslim man and was taken to the church to be preached and convinced to leave her husband. Her family then opened fire at members of her husband's family outside the church when they went to retrieve her.

The second version is that a Coptic woman was imprisoned in the church against her will after declaring she converted to Islam.

The unconfirmed reports, prompted a mob to march towards the Saint Menas Church in the Imbaba locality, leading to communal clashes, that claimed 12 lives.

Shooting across the neighborhood took place with people on rooftops firing into the crowd. The mob fired bombs at homes, shops and the church, setting its facade on fire. Another nearby church was attacked by the mob in the locality, as the army and police fired tear gas shells to disperse it.

18 killed in Baghdad jail fight: Security Offical

 At least 18 people were killed in fighting between security officers and prisoners at an Iraqi Interior Ministry jail complex in Baghdad on Sunday, a security official said.

The dead included an al-Qaeda leader known as the ‘Emir of Baghdad’ who planned an attack on a Catholic church last October in which more than 50 people died, said Major-General Qassim al-Moussawi, Baghdad’s security spokesman.

The skirmish at a counter-terrorism unit in Baghdad’s central Karrada district began when a prisoner grabbed a gun from a guard, killed several guards and interior ministry officers, and gave a weapon to other inmates, Moussawi said.

Zero tolerance for religious strife: Egypt

CAIRO: Egyptian officials on Sunday threatened to use ‘"iron hand" to maintain law and order after “neighborhood thugs” in Cairo attacked peace advocates calling for national unity.

Marchers numbering about 400 took to the streets Sunday in a call for national unity after clashes between Christians and Muslims in the northwestern neighborhood of Imbaba left 12 people dead and 232 injured. Among those killed were four Christians and six Muslims, while two other bodies were still unidentified.

When the Muslim and Christian peace advocates gathered in front of Cairo’s High Court ahead of a march in the center of the city, they were pelted with stones by dozens of men from a nearby neighborhood.

Nato units left 61 African migrants to die of hunger and thirst

Dozens of African migrants were left to die in the Mediterranean after a number of European and Nato military units apparently ignored their cries for help, the Guardian has learned.

A boat carrying 72 passengers, including several women, young children and political refugees, ran into trouble in late March after leaving Tripoli for the Italian island of Lampedusa. Despite alarms being raised with the Italian coastguard and the boat making contact with a military helicopter and a Nato warship, no rescue effort was attempted.

All but 11 of those on board died from thirst and hunger after their vessel was left to drift in open waters for 16 days. "Every morning we would wake up and find more bodies, which we would leave for 24 hours and then throw overboard," said Abu Kurke, one of only nine survivors. "By the final days, we didn't know ourselves … everyone was either praying, or dying."

Militants kill 2 Buddhists in restive Thai south in front of a mosque

YALA: Suspected insurgents killed two Buddhists in a drive-by shooting on Sunday in Thailand’s deep south, police said, the latest in an upsurge of violence in the troubled region bordering Malaysia.

Heavy fighting near Libya’s Misrata airport

TRIPOLI - Libyan rebels fought a fierce battle with forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi near the airport at the western city of Misrata on Sunday as NATO planes targeted government ammunition stores on another front in the war.

Hundreds have died in Misrata, which is the scene of weeks of conflict as rebels fighting to end Gaddafi’s decades in power attempt to hold off a government siege.

The port city is considered crucial to the rebels’ chances of success because it is the last city they hold in the west of the country.

Conflict is escalating in the Western Mountains region where on Sunday NATO targeted ammunition dumps near Zintan, southwest of Tripoli, but elsewhere there is stalemate with rebels holding Benghazi and other towns in the east while the capital and other cities remain firmly in government hands.

'Game over' for Kadhafi: NATO chief

WASHINGTON: The NATO chief said Sunday he was confident that time was running out for Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, despite the prolonged stalemate between his forces and rebels who seek his ouster.      

But Anders Fogh Rasmussen also acknowledged the brutal war that has raged for nearly two months would be resolved politically, not militarily.  

"The game is over for Kadhafi. He should realize sooner rather than later that there's not future for him or his regime," the NATO secretary-general said in a TV program.     

"We have stopped Kadhafi in his tracks. His time is running out. He's more and more isolated."

An Extremist Muslim group publishes hate video on Prince Harry

An extremist group is believed to be targeting Prince Harry after a propaganda hate video emerged following the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, kompas.com reported Monday.

The 26-year-old, third in line to the British throne, is the subject of a three-minute video posted last week by an organisation calling itself Muslims Against Crusades.

It is believed Harry is being targeted to avenge the death of the Al Qaeda leader, who was shot dead by American special forces in Pakistan last Sunday, after six years ago he dressed up as a Nazi and served under the British Army in Afghanistan.

Originally posted on the group's jihadist website, the video, titled Harry the Nazi, depicts the young royal — who was best man to his older brother William just over a week ago — serving for the British Army against Taliban forces in 2007 and 2008, and saying "all my wishes have come true".

Fight between forces & militants rages on for 2nd day in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: Afghan security forces clashed with militants in Kandahar for a second day on Sunday after the Taliban unleashed a major assault on government buildings in the southern city, an interior ministry spokesman said.

Zemeri Bashary said a fire fight broke out when security forces began an operation to clear the city's Kandahar Hotel, located next to the intelligence agency headquarters and a police station. He did not know how many insurgents were holed up in the hotel, which had been used to stage Saturday's daylong attacks against the two buildings.

Getting our man' outweighed risks of raid: Obama

President Barack Obama ordered the commando raid that killed terrorist leader Oama bin Laden after deciding the risks were outweighed by the possibility "of us finally getting our man" following a decade of frustration, he said in a Sunday broadcast interview.

The helicopter raid "was the longest 40 minutes of my life," Obama told CBS' "60 Minutes" news magazine, with the possile exception of when his ///daughter Sasha/// became sick with meningitis as an infant.

Monitoring the commando raid operation in the White House Situation Room a week ago, Obama said he and top aides "had a sense of when gunfire and explosions took place" halfway around the world, and knew when one of he helicopters carrying Navy SEALs made an unplanned hard landing. Security Forces Fire on Yemen Protest, One Dead

Yemeni forces opened fire on protesters blockading a government building on Monday, killing a shopkeeper in a city that has seen some of the largest rallies seeking to oust President Ali Abdullah Saleh, witnesses said.

At least 10 protesters were wounded when security forces, some in armoured vehicles, moved in to quell the rally in the city of Taiz, south of the capital Sanaa. "A large force of police and army attacked protesters and then chased them in residential areas. They opened fire and used tear gas heavily," said Bushra al-Maqtari, an activist in Taiz.

The shopkeeper who ran a small kiosk was killed by a stray bullet, and heavy gunfire was heard in the area.

Pakistan arrests 25 suspects from Abbottabad post-Osama killing

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani intelligence and security agencies have conducted a sweep in the garrison city of Abbottabad, where al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden was killed in a US raid on Monday, and arrested at least 25 suspects.

The 25 suspects were taken into custody from the areas of Nawashehar, Kakul village, Nadian and Thanda Choha near Abbottabad on Friday, DawnNews channel reported.

The search operation was conducted to deal with the potential consequences of the US military operation in Abbottabad, the channel said.

A local politician claimed the security forces had rounded up "hundreds of people" during the search operation.

ISI allowed terrorists to attack India, says WikiLeaks

Taliban deny recruiting young boys for suicide attacks

KABUL: The Taleban denied on Sunday reports by the Afghan government the militant group was recruiting young boys to carry out suicide attacks in Afghanistan, saying it prohibited “beardless” men among its ranks.

The statement came after authorities paraded four young Afghan boys on Saturday they said had been recruited as suicide bombers from homes in Pakistan and were detained crossing the border on a mission to attack foreign troops.

“It must be clarified that based on the principles of the Islamic Emirate, it has imposed a complete restriction on enlisting beardless or underage boys in their jihad operations,” the Taleban said in the statement.

Obama has no scheduled visit to Pakistan this year: White House

WASHINGTON: US president Barack Obama has no schedule, at this moment, to go to Pakistan this year, his National Security Advisor has said, as the diplomatic fallout from the killing of Osama bin Laden intensified.

"There's not a visit on his schedule at this point, right, to go to Pakistan," White House National Security Advisor Tom Donilon told the NBC news channel in an interview.

ISI role in 26/11 to be exposed in trial

The precise role of Pakistan’s notorious Inter-Services Intelligence in “sheltering” Osama bin Laden may take a while to unfold, but Americans will begin to learn enough about the military intelligence agency’s devious ways when the 26/11 trial kicks off in a Chicago court next week.

Besides the central figures of David Coleman Headley (who has already pleaded guilty under a deal with FBI) and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the trial will focus on the role of an ISI officer, simply identified as “Major Iqbal”, and three others charged last month as “co-conspirators” in the Mumbai terror plot.

The foursome based in Pakistan remain at large and will be tried in absentia. Besides “Major Iqbal” who “participated in planning and funding attacks carried out by Lashkar”, the others are: Sajid Mir, LeT’s “handler” for Headley; Mazhar Iqbal, a Lashkar commander; and Abu Qahafa, a combat trainer for Lashkar recruits.

Osama bin Laden had support network in Pakistan: Barack Obama

WASHINGTON: Osama bin Laden, who lived in a compound in Abbottabad for six years, had "some kind of support" infrastructure inside Pakistan and this aspect needs to be investigated, US President Barack Obama has said.

His comments came as his top security advisor said there was no evidence so far that the Pakistan Government knew about the al-Qaida chief's presence in the country.

Osama not protected by any Pak agency: Malik

JEDDAH: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has admitted that hiding of Al-Qaeda Chief Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad was an intelligence failure.

In an interview with an Arabic newspaper, Rehman Malik said killing of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan has strengthened our resolve to fight the menace of terrorism with renewed vigor.

It was an intelligence failure. Sometimes it happens, but I assure our allies that he was not protected by any government agency, the Interior Minister stated.

He said that 9/11 also happened due to intelligence failure. Not only 9/11, I can cite other incidents in the world which were result of agencies failure. That does not mean that those agencies protected terrorists, he added.

The peace process is for the Taliban. And, the Taliban are the same Taliban,” Mujahid said.“People who believe the killing of Osama Bin Laden would affect the peace process are at wrong. The Taliban are a separate organisation who are based in Afghanistan and are active in the same country. They are fighting for independence. The Al-Qaeda is a separate entity which has its own goals on the international level,” he maintained.

SC stays Allahabad high court verdict on Ayodhya title suit

The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the Allahabad high court's verdict dividing in three parts the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya, terming as "something strange" the judgement although the parties had not asked for trifurcation of the land.

The court, while staying the September 13, 2010 judgement of the Lucknow bench of the high court, ordered status quo at the site.

A bench of justices Aftab Alam and R.M. Lodha, while terming the high court's judgement "as something strange," said the partition of the land was ordered despite none of the parties to the dispute seeking it.

Mum-in-law dies of shock on news of Osama’s death

Osama bin Laden's first mother-in-law died of a stroke after hearing the news that US forces killed him in Pakistan, a London-based Arabic newspaper reported on Sunday. Nabih al-Ghanem, the mother of bin Laden's first wife, Najwa, was taken to a hospital in Latakia in northern Syria where she died after suffering the stroke, the Asharq Al-Awsat daily said. It said the woman in her 70s "could not bear the bad news and lost consciousness". Bin Laden had married Najwa, his Syrian-born cousin, when he was 17, and they had 11 children, the paper said, adding she had left Afghanistan a few days before the 9/11 terror attacks and now lives in Syria.

Osama’s killing may weaken al Qaeda’s influence on Taliban’

KABUL: The killing of Osama bin Laden may weaken al Qaeda’s influence on the Afghan Taliban, the US military commander in Afghanistan said on Sunday.

Even so, General David Petraeus warned that Afghanistan is still a potential refuge for international terror groups, and al Qaeda is just one of those. He also warned that the May 2 US raid that killed the al Qaeda leader in Abbottabad did not spell the end of the NATO battle in Afghanistan, which began just one month after the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington with the aim of wiping out al Qaeda and bin Laden.

NATO officials have said that they do not intend to speed up their withdrawal just because al Qaeda’s leader is gone, but the military feels it may bring the Taliban closer to negotiations with the Afghan government.

No proof Pakistan knew of bin Laden, but must probe: US

WASHINGTON: The White House has demanded Pakistan investigate the support network that sustained Osama bin Laden, but one week after killing the Al-Qaeda chief the United States says there is no proof Islamabad knew of his hideout.

“There was some support network in Abbottabad, Pakistan with the support of bin Laden,” White House National Security Advisor Tom Donilon told NBC Sunday talk show “Meet The Press.”

“We haven’t seen evidence that the government knew about that. But they need to investigate that.” US President Barack Obama ordered the clandestine US Navy SEAL mission that killed Bin Laden at his Abbottabad compound, which also allowed the United States to seize a massive cashe of intelligence.

Bin Laden death great for Muslims: Pakistani rocker

WASHINGTON: Pakistani musician Salman Ahmad has hailed Osama bin Laden’s death as a victory for the Islamic world and demanded accountability over how the al Qaeda chief lived in his country for years.

The rock star, whose band Junoon is one of the most popular acts in South Asia with more than 30 million albums sold, said Pakistanis felt “humiliated” that the world’s most-wanted man resided in the garrison town of Abbottabad.

US want access to bin Laden widows

The United States wants access to Osama bin Laden's three widows and any intelligence material its commandos left behind at the al-Qaeda leader's compound, a top American official said in comments broadcast Sunday that could add a fresh sticking point in already frayed ties with Pakistan.

Information from the women, who remained in the house after the commandos killed bin Laden, might answer questions about whether Pakistan harbored the al-Qaeda chief as many American officials are speculating. It could also reveal details about the day-to-day life of bin Laden, his actions since the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and the inner workings of al-Qaeda.

The women, along with several children also picked up from the house, are believed to be in Pakistani army custody. A Pakistani army official declined to comment Sunday on the request, which US National Security Adviser Tom Donilon revealed on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Abbottabad house 'was Qaeda hub'

Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was in active control of the terror network from his compound in northern Pakistan, US intelligence services now believe.

Reversing assessments that bin Laden lived a nomadic existence, the US says his Abbottabad house was a command and control centre.

Abbottabad, the garrison town tucked in hills where bin Laden may have lived in secret for years, is just the latest Pakistani city with a strong military presence that some of al-Qaeda's most-wanted have called home.

The three-storey compound where bin Laden lived with three wives and 13 children is hundreds of miles from the Afghan border areas where the CIA last year doubled drone attacks in the war to defeat al-Qaeda.

Following the raid that killed him, the US has released five videos of bin Laden watching TV and giving speeches.

Terrorist influx in Britain, says report

LONDON: British security officials were on Sunday reported as saying the Yemeni branch of al-Qaeda controlled by U.S.-born radical preacher Anwar al-Awlaki — dubbed the “new bin Laden” — was heavily involved in recruiting British Muslims; some of whom, it was claimed, had returned to Britain after training and could be plotting attacks.

The Sunday Times claimed 200 British “extremists” allegedly trained in Yemen were now back and seen to pose “the single most potent threat” to Britain amid fears of a terrorist backlash after the killing of Osama bin-Laden.

Bahrain to lift state of emergency from June 1

 MANAMA - His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain has ordered a state of emergency to be lifted from June 1, after imposing it following weeks of street protests in the Gulf kingdom, the state news agency said on Sunday.

“The state of national safety will be lifted across the kingdom of Bahrain from June 1, 2011,” the agency BNA quoted the King’s decree as saying. It had originally been due to expire in mid-June, Reuters reported.
