UN Chief urges countries to unite to prevent
Afghanistan from “becoming a hotbed of terrorism”
By Fidel Rahmati

Commissioner for Refugees of UNHCR, attends a press conference in German

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres
addressed the 24th meeting of the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO), urging countries to work together to prevent Afghanistan
from “becoming a hotbed of terrorism.”
Guterres emphasized the importance of achieving peace
in Afghanistan and forming a government that includes all groups and respects
human rights.
“We need peace in Afghanistan and a government that
respects human rights and engages with the international community,” said
Guterres.
Guterres expressed the UN’s willingness to collaborate
with the SCO in fighting terrorism worldwide, recognizing the SCO as the
largest regional security organization encompassing several countries,
including China, India, and Russia.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, also
highlighted terrorism as a significant concern during the SCO summit. He called
for constructive engagement with the Taliban and emphasized the need for
concrete actions to prevent Afghanistan territory from being used for terrorism
against any country.
Meanwhile, concerns are mounting over the resurgence
of militant groups in Afghanistan amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the
forced deportation of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries.
The instability in Afghanistan not only threatens
regional security but also exacerbates the suffering of the Afghan people, who
are already grappling with poverty and a lack of basic necessities.
International stakeholders continue to urge concerted
efforts to stabilize Afghanistan and address the root causes of extremism,
ensuring that the country does not regress into a haven for terrorist
activities.
The path to lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan
hinges on international cooperation and support for inclusive governance that
respects human rights and fosters regional stability.

Muslim Vote Backed Five Independent Candidates On
Pro-Palestine Tickets Have Beaten LabourIn Parliament
06.07.2024
Five independent candidates on pro-Palestine tickets
have beaten Labour and have been propelled into parliament on the back of the
Muslim vote.
They were Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn,
optometrist Shockat Adam in Leicester South, engineer Iqbal Mohamed in Dewsbury
and Batley, solicitor Adnan Hussain in Blackburn, and former Liberal Democrat
councillor Ayoub Khan in Birmingham Perry Barr.
“The goal from the very start has been to empower the
Muslim vote and send the main political parties a message: Muslims are united,
in Muslim-heavy areas your majorities will be under threat, and there may even
be an upset. Tonight we did that in spades.”
The Muslim Vote added that huge Labour majorities had
been slashed, including for Wes Streeting, Rushanara Ali, Jess Philips and Keir
Starmer.
On the other hand, split votes cost Muslims seats and
the Muslim community turnout was low. Moreover, many Muslims still decided to
vote Labour despite the shadow of Gaza hanging over us.
“Today, as predicted, Labour have secured a landslide.
But in Muslim-heavy seats the seeds of our community’s future have been sown.
It will not be a landslide in the coming elections – and that is when the
message sent today will really resonate.”

Sultan Of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah Calls On Muslims To
Emulate Prophet Muhammad’s Strategic Thinking
07 Jul 2024
The Perak Ruler said in a world filled with conflict
and division, the strategies of Prophet Muhammad should be studied, explored,
understood and adapted to offer new hope. — Bernama pic
---------------
IPOH, July 7 — The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah
has called on Muslims to draw guidance from the strategic thinking of Prophet
Muhammad, which played a pivotal role in the astonishing spread of Islam, as
the new Hijrah year 1446 begins.
His Royal Highness emphasised that Prophet Muhammad’s
innovative initiatives had successfully united conflicting factions into a
cohesive ummah and established universal human values, which he believes should
be embraced by present-day leaders.
“The Prophet’s leadership stands as a timeless example
of the ability of visionary and wise leadership to achieve transformation
despite facing numerous trials, challenges and obstacles,” Sultan Nazrin said
in his royal address when gracing the Perak-level Maal Hijrah 1446H Celebration
here today.
Also present were the Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku
Zara Salim, Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, Raja DiHilir Perak Raja
Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah and Raja PuanMuda Perak Tunku Soraya
Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
Sultan Nazrin highlighted that with Prophet Muhammad’s
strategic thinking, Islam continues to spread and thrive worldwide, and after
1446 years since the Hijrah, Islam is now embraced by 1.9 billion people or
24.1 per cent of the world’s population.
According to the Perak Ruler, in a world filled with
conflict and division, the strategies of Prophet Muhammad, which have yielded
remarkable success, should be studied, explored, understood and adapted to
offer new hope.
“By examining the Prophet’s approaches, the ummah can
gain invaluable lessons and guidance for conflict resolutions, negotiations,
community development and equipping themselves to face current challenges.
“Reflecting on the life of Prophet Muhammad, it is
evident that he was a master strategist. He excelled in planning, execution,
evaluation and continuous improvement, driving the rapid and widespread growth
of Islam,” he said.
Sultan Nazrin further said that the Prophet
consistently demonstrated a strategic mindset in his efforts to elevate the
ummah as dignified individuals.
“This strategic mindset became the key to his success
in spreading Islam after being elevated as a prophet, subsequently in governing
the state and leading military campaigns.
On the state-level Maal Hijrah celebration, Sultan
Nazrin said the theme ‘Strategic Minds Trigger Dynamic Communities’ highlights
the importance of having a strategic mindset, which involves envisioning
desired outcomes, planning ahead, and proactively preparing for challenges.
“It’s about finding solutions to overcome obstacles
and seizing opportunities with wisdom. This mindset dares to step outside the
norm, seeing situations from a broader perspective.
“It involves analysing, planning and generating new
ideas to achieve goals, driving progress in a constantly changing and
competitive world,” he said.

Iranian people 'losing their patience', top Sunni
cleric warns Pezeshkian
07-07-2024
Mowlavi Abdolhamid, the top religious leader of Iran's
largely Sunni Baluch population
-------------
Iran's top Sunni cleric MowlaviAbdolhamid has warned
president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian that Iranians are "exhausted" and
are losing patience with the country's ongoing issues.
MowlaviAbdolhamid, who abstained from voting in Iran's
presidential election this year, highlighted the "disgust" among the
public, demonstrated by the record-low turnout in the first round of the votes.
The June 28 presidential election saw a voter turnout
of 39.92%, the lowest in the history of the Islamic Republic. In the runoff
votes held on July 5, the official figures showed a 10-percent rise in the
number of voters, but still over 50 percent of eligible voters boycotted the
election.
This significant absence signals a stark
"discontent" with unbalanced and inconsistent governmental policies,
Abdulhamid said, according to a readout of his speech published by Halvash
human rights organization.
The top Sunni cleric said the nation,
"overwhelmed" by political, economic, and social pressures, and where
the lower classes feel "crushed," will persist in its demands for
"justice" and "freedom."
Abdolhamid, expressing deep concern over the political
stalemate and lack of representation for the Sunni and Baluch communities,
described the situation as a "deadlock," underscoring the need for a
profound shift in public sentiment away from traditional conservative and
reformist politics. Despite his reservations, he acknowledged Pezeshkian's
“victory.”
Known for his forthright opposition to the government,
especially after the crackdown in Zahedan on September 30, 2022, Abdolhamid has
faced risks and criticism for his stance against the Supreme Leader's policies,
especially regarding the treatment of protestors.
His advocacy for ending executions and harsh decrees
has positioned him as a contentious figure, facing accusations from
conservative factions of aiding the "enemies" of Iran.

Veteran Actor Mukesh Khanna Reacts To Controversy Surrounding Sonakshi – Zaheer
Marriage
Jul 6, 2024
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married last
month, and their wedding created quite a buzz on social media. However, when
Sonakshi shared the wedding photos, she faced negativity from certain people,
with some even linking their marriage to 'love jihad.' Now, veteran actor
Mukesh Khanna, who is famous for his role in Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitama in
BR Chopra's Mahabharat, has reacted to the controversy surrounding their
wedding and said that the marriage should not be viewed through a Hindu-Muslim
lens. In an interview with The Filmy Charcha, Mukesh Khanna addressed the
criticism by saying, "Don't view Sonakshi and Zaheer's marriage through a
Hindu-Muslim lens. What Sonakshi did was not a sudden decision. They have been
together for 6-7 years before getting married. People are calling this love
jihad. Love jihad happens when a girl's marriage is forced."
Mukesh further commented, "Can’t a Hindu and
Muslim marry? Many did so in our time and are happy. This wedding is a family
matter for them." Shatrughan Sinha initially had said that he didn’t know
about Sonakshi-Zaheer's marriage but later mentioned he would attend. To those
making negative comments, Shatrughan has silenced the trolls saying 'Khamosh.'
A couple of days ago, Shatrughan expressed gratitude
to his followers for their support with a heartfelt note, “Thanking everyone
for their blessings, love & warm congratulatory messages. But most touched

Hathras stampede: ‘Nothing can shake our faith in
Baba’, says victims’ kin
Jul 7, 2024
HATHRAS: Despite losing their loved ones in the
stampede at Hathras, several devotees’ faith in self-styled godman Surajpal,
alias Bhole Baba, remains steadfast. Many of them alleged that the blame lay
with the police and administration for the tragedy. They asserted that if
another spiritual gathering of Bhole Baba was held in the future, they would
attend it again, with some of them claiming that “nothing can shake our faith
in Baba, whom we regard as a messiah.”
Seema, the wife of SonpalJatav from NaglaKhanji
village in Kasganj, lost her life in the stampede. She had gone there with her
husband and other family members. Even after losing his wife, Sonpal said that
their family had deep reverence for Baba, with whom they had been associated
for over two decades.
In the incident, his sister-in-law Birma Devi and
daughter Kusuma were injured and are now undergoing treatment at the district
hospital. Birma Devi blamed the lack of police security at the religious
assembly. “If the police had been present properly and the security measures
were robust, this tragedy would not have occurred,” she said.

India is a political friend, China is a friend for
attaining development: Bangladesh Minister
KALLOL BHATTACHERJEE
July 07, 2024
India is a time-tested political friend of Bangladesh,
and China is a friend necessary for Bangladesh to attain its developmental
goals, a leading member of the Bangladesh government has said, summing up his
country’s “balanced diplomacy”.
Addressing an event in Dhaka, which was held as a
prelude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s four-day visit to China that will
begin on July 8, the Minister of Transport and Roads and the ruling Awami
League’s powerful general secretary ObaidulQuader said that Ms. Hasina’s
critics were not able to stomach the fact that under her rule, Bangladesh had
completed major developmental projects with the help of China and India. He
also singled out India for praise, pointing to the completion of the Land Boundary
Agreement of 2015.
“India is a tested friend of 1971. The ties between
the two countries were forged by the blood stained 1971. This is a friend who
helped us in our difficult time of 1971. India is a political friend. China is
our friend for attaining our developmental goal and it has contributed to many
development projects in the country,” Mr. Quader said.
The Minister criticised the Opposition, which has been
targeting Ms. Hasina for her latest agreements with India, and said that both
the partnerships with India and China have flourished under the present Awami
League government.

Uzbekistan: Afghanistan is no longer a priority for
the international community
By Fidel Rahmati
July 7, 2024
ShavkatMirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan,
expressed concern about the current situation in Afghanistan, stating that the
country has been marginalized from the global community’s focus due to
conflicts occurring in other parts of the world.
Speaking at a Turkic Council (Turkic States
Cooperation Council) meeting in Shusha held on Saturday, July 6th, Mr.
Mirziyoyev called for increased coordination to aid Afghanistan. According to
him, “The situation in Afghanistan, where millions of Turks live, has been
marginalized from the global community’s focus.”
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized continuing
support for the “people of Afghanistan” and claimed that freeing Afghanistan’s
financial reserves would improve the situation there.
The assertion that the current Taliban regime lacks
international recognition is accurate, as many countries and international
organizations have withheld recognition due to concerns over the Taliban’s
governance, human rights record, and inclusivity.

Bangladesh floods leave at least eight dead amid fears
situation could worsen
6 Jul 2024
The death toll from floods in Bangladesh this week has

major rivers to burst their banks, officials have confirmed.
The south Asian country of 170 million people,
crisscrossed by hundreds of rivers, has experienced more frequent floods in
recent decades.
Two teenage boys were killed when a boat capsized in
flood waters in Shahjadur, the northern rural town’s police chief, Sabuj Rana,
said.
Bishwadeb Roy, a police chief in Kurigram, said that
three others had been killed in two separate electrocution incidents after
their boats became entangled with live electricity wires in flood water.
The government said it had opened hundreds of shelters
for people displaced by the waters and sent food and relief to hard-hit

Spain's Far-Right Sergio Gracia, President Of CINVED
Calls For Expulsion Of Muslims
Halil İbrahim Medet
06.07.2024
In Spain, the far-right is calling for the expulsion
of Muslims, labelling them on social media as "invaders" by
referencing historical events from the fall of Andalusia and the Reconquista,
according to an official.
Sergio Gracia, president of the Center for Research on
the Far-Right (CINVED) in Spain evaluated the far-right's anti-Muslim rhetoric
for Anadolu.
Gracia said the far-right uses the concept of
"Reconquista," or reconquest, and related historical events to
justify reclaiming Spanish lands from Muslims and expelling them.
"The extreme right usually refers to historical
figures like Don Pelayo or El Sid, also using terms like reconquer, making
reference to battles such as the battle of Covadonga, the battle of Alarcos,
the battle of las Navas of Tolosa or the takeover of Granada.
"They usually give you key dates alluding to the
battles that they carried out at the local level, such as Malaga 1487 or Alcala
1247. These are two examples of social movements that have been in Spain
working and today they are under the umbrella from a far-right political party
as HacerNacion," he said.

Independent Muslim, Shockat Adam, Who Beat Labour In
Leicester Says Victory Was Not ‘Sectarian’
ChamindaJayanetti
7 July 2024
The man who pulled off a shock victory at the general
election by ousting shadow cabinet member Jonathan Ashworth has criticised
claims that the wave of strong showings by independent Muslim candidates
represents the rise of “sectarian” voting.
Shockat Adam, an optometrist, caused a huge upset by
beating Ashworth, the shadow paymaster general and a familiar face in Labour’s
election campaign, to become the new MP for Leicester South.
Adam was one of three independent Muslim candidates to
win Labour-held seats amid anger at the party’s stance on Gaza, with Labour
also losing Blackburn and Birmingham Perry Barr.
Other Labour MPs only just held on to their seats: new
health secretary Wes Streeting won a mere 528 more votes than Leanne Mohamad in
Ilford North, while Naz Shah held her Bradford seat by barely more than 700
votes.

Nato is spending more on defence, but it's likely not
enough
Jul 7, 2024
BRUSSELS: Spurred on by Russia's war in Ukraine and
the spectre of Donald Trump's potential return to the White House, more of
Nato's European members are finally hitting the alliance's defence spending
target.
But as leaders gear up to celebrate at a Nato summit
in Washington there is a clear feeling that will not be sufficient to tackle
the challenges it faces.
"Even in countries historically reluctant to
spend more on defence, there is now a growing sense of the importance of
greatly increased defence spending," said Ian Lesser, from the German
Marshall Fund of the United States think tank.
"I think, broadly speaking, in the next years
we're looking at levels of defence spending that will begin to approach those
of the Cold War."
A decade after setting a spending goal at two percent
of gross domestic product, just over two-thirds of Nato's 32 countries are now
expected to reach or top that threshold this year.

France is voting in key elections that could see a
historic far-right win or a hung parliament
Jul 7, 2024
PARIS: France will vote Sunday in pivotal runoff
elections that could hand a historic victory to Marine Le Pen's far-right
National Rally and its inward-looking, anti-immigrant vision - or produce a
hung parliament and years of political deadlock.
Sunday's snap elections in this nuclear-armed nation
have potential impact on the war in Ukraine, global diplomacy and Europe's
economic stability. And they're almost certain to undercut President Emmanuel
Macron for the remaining three years of his presidency.
Racism and antisemitism have marred the electoral
campaign, along with Russian cybercampaigns, and more than 50 candidates
reported being physically attacked - highly unusual for France. The government
is deploying 30,000 police on voting day.

In first address, Iran's Prez-elect Pezeshkian vows to
serve all Iranians
Jul 07 2024
Iran's president-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, delivered
his inaugural address in Tehran following his victory in the election run-off
against Saeed Jalili, a prominent hardline candidate. Pezeshkian, positioned as
a centrist and reformist figure, emphasised the significance of his win in
opening a "new chapter" for Iran, Al Jazeera reported.
At the mausoleum of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, he
expressed his commitment to overcoming challenges and providing prosperity for
all Iranians.
"We are ahead of a big trial, a trial of
hardships and challenges, simply to provide a prosperous life to our
people," Pezeshkian remarked, reflecting on the responsibilities that lay
ahead after securing nearly 16.4 million votes out of more than 30 million
cast.
His opponent, Jalili, acknowledged Pezeshkian's
victory and urged unity in supporting the elected leader. "Not only should
he be respected, but now we must use all our strength and help him move forward

What changes are expected under Iran's new president?
Jul 06, 2024
Iranians have picked reformist Masoud Pezeshkian as
the Islamic republic's next president in a election to replace Ebrahim Raisi
who was killed in a helicopter crash in May.
Within Iran, he vowed to ease long-standing internet
restrictions and to "fully" oppose police patrols enforcing the
mandatory headscarf on women, a high-profile issue since the death in police
custody in 2022 of Mahsa Amini.
Pezeshkian also pledged to involve more women and
ethnic minorities such as Kurds and Baluchis in his government.
He has also promised to reduce inflation, now hovering
at around 40 percent, which he says has "crushed the nation's back"
in recent years.

Nuclear tension could ease, but not end after Iran
election, say analysts
July 06, 2024
Masoud Pezeshkian's victory in Iran's presidential
elections has given a rare boost to efforts for scaling down years of tensions
over Tehran's nuclear program, even with no indication of any upcoming
breakthrough in the crisis.
Pezeshkian's defeat of ultra-conservative Saeed
Jalili, a former chief nuclear negotiator whose intransigence and style made
him notorious among Western diplomats, is a relief for European governments as
they seek to maintain dialogue on the issue.
Pezeshkian also boasted on his campaign team former
foreign minister Mohammad JavadZarif, who in the past had worked intensely with
European officials over the nuclear dossier.
But even after taking office, Pezeshkian will in no
way be Iran's number one figure on foreign policy or nuclear issues, with top
authority resting with supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has led the
Islamic republic since 1989.
During campaigning for the election — called after
hardline president Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash — 69-year-old
Pezeshkian had advocated for an Iran more open to the West.
He showed "that his project was very different
from that of the ultra-conservative Saeed Jalili," who rejected the impact
of international sanctions on the economy, said Thierry Coville, Iran
specialist at the Institute of International and Strategic Relations, or IRIS.

Return Of Suicide Bombers: Boko Haram, ISWAP
Exploiting Weaknesses In Intelligence System— Gen Ishola Williams Of Nigeria
July 7, 2024
Penultimate Saturday’s multiple suicide bombings in
Borno State, which left no fewer than 30 dead, has provoked fundamental
questions on Nigeria’s war against insurgency.
While there is no dispute that the military has
degraded the capabilities of ISWAP and Boko Haram to carry out such an attack,
the latest incident left many puzzles in its wake.
Dissecting the attacks, which could rightly be
described as the return of suicide bombers, a former Chief of Training,
Operations and Plans at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), General Ishola
Williams, retd, pinpoints possible loopholes the bombers may have exploited. He
also speaks on why insurgency appears unending in Borno State.
I don’t think we have ever won the war on Boko Haram.
What we see is the recycling of insurgency. They take a break; after sometime,
when they see some weaknesses on the part of the intelligence system, they
return with their attacks. There is something people haven’t bothered to
notice. Boko Haram and ISWAP don’t do what they do in Nigeria in Chad, Cameroon
or in Niger. Why? Is it because their intelligence system is better than our
own? And Boko Haram leader, before he died, told Chadians to stop attacking
them and that they were not interested in attacking Chad. He said they were
interested in attacking Borno State and Nigeria. It means they are afraid of
the Chadian army, but they are not afraid of the Nigerian army. Why? Senator
Jimoh Ibrahim said he has seen many guns around him from his mobile phone. He
said the military should change its tactics. And he is correct. If we have been
fighting Boko Haram for the past 15 years and we have not defeated them, does
it not make enough sense for you to change y

$5bn investment pledged for oil, gas exploration
July 7, 2024
ISLAMABAD: Local and international firms have
announced an investment of $5 billion during the next three years in Pakistan’s
oil & gas exploration and production (E&P) sector.
A delegation of companies from the oil and gas
exploration and production sector informed the meeting that during the next
three years, around 240 potential reserves sites would be excavated with an
investment of $5bn to explore petroleum and gas.
The PM constituted a committee under the
chairmanship of his deputy, Ishaq Dar, which would include experts,
secretaries of relevant ministries, and other authorities.
The committee, after consultation with the E&P
sector representatives, would formulate proposals to create an attractive
policy for exploration and development of petroleum and gas reserves.
The PM also directed the relevant authorities to solve
the issues faced by the companies and submit policy proposals to the
newly-constituted committee immediately.
The meeting was informed that currently Pakistan’s
domestic oil and gas production stood at 70,998 barrels and 3,131 million
standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), respectively.
The prime minister invited petroleum and gas
exploration and production companies to also work on offshore sites and called

Court reserves verdict on Imran’s bail in May 9 riot
cases
Wajih Ahmad Sheikh
July 7, 2024
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday
reserved its verdict on pre-arrest bail petitions of PTI founding chairman
Imran Khan in three cases related to the May 9 riots. The prosecution equated
last year’s protests to the United States Capitol Hill attacks, while the
defence rejected allegations of conspiracy.
During the final arguments, Barrister Salman Safdar,
Mr Khan’s counsel, stated that his client had been denied justice for a year.
Judge Khalid Arshad noted that there had been delays due to various reasons,
including some caused by the petitioner’s counsel, and pointed out that the
Lahore High Court had directed the trial court to mark the suspect’s attendance
via video link from jail.
A prosecutor confirmed that Mr Khan was imprisoned in
Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, as confirmed by jail authorities via WhatsApp. The
judge then instructed the petitioner’s counsel to present his arguments in the
Jinnah House attack case.
Barrister Safdar argued that on May 9, 2023, Imran
Khan sought bail in the Al-Qadir Trust case at the Islamabad High Court when he
was illegally arrested. He stated that the events of May 9 were a reaction to
Mr Khan’s arrest and that Mr Khan only learned about the attacks on state
institutions when presented in the Supreme Court. He emphasised that Imran Khan
condemned the May 9 attacks before the Supreme Court and the IHC.

Nawaz calls for unity to address challenges
July 7, 2024
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)
President and former prime minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday
underscored the need of national unity in addressing the multifaceted
challenges facing Pakistan.
He argued that these forces have no genuine stake in
democracy or the people’s welfare, viewing Pakistan’s struggles as their
political gains, says a press release.
It said that reflecting on the country’s past
achievements, Nawaz Sharif noted that issues like inflation, load-shedding and
terrorism, once successfully tackled, have resurfaced.
Sharif recalled that seven years ago Pakistan had
successfully controlled inflation, eliminated load-shedding, and bid farewell
to IMF bailouts. However, he lamented the significant setbacks since 2018,
which have led to severe difficulties across various sectors. These setbacks,
he noted, will take considerable time to rectify.

KARACHI: The war of words between the opposition
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party

Dr Siddiqui had criticised the intentions of PPP

When Melania Trump said she doesn't need to stand by

Jul 7, 2024
Melania Trump will not be a whole-time First Lady if
Donald Trump returns to the White House this November. While this has created a
flutter, Melania's close associates said Melania was never a full-time first
lady in the first place. Former White House press secretary and chief-of -staff
Stephanie Grisham said in March that Melania once said that she doesn't need to
stand by Donald Trump like Jill Biden. "It's like she's holding Joe Biden
up," Grisham said.
Melania, according to Trump biographer Michael Wolff,
never wanted to Donald Trump to run and she became the most demi-detached First
Lady in US history. In 2016 when Trump moved into the White House, Melania
initially stayed behind in their New York Trump Tower apartments, before
finally heading to Washington in the summer of 2017. At that time, her excuse
was Barron was in school and needed her to stay nearby.
This time too, Melania wants to stay with Barron Trump
who is likely to join New York University and according to reports, Melania has
already made a deal with Trump that she will only be at the White House on
special occasions.

Queen expected great-grandchildren to be 'more
American' in last meeting, recalls Prince Harry
Jul 7, 2024
Prince Harry detailed Queen Elizabeth II's final
interaction with her great-grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,
in 2022.
Describing her reaction to their behavior, Harry
revealed that the Queen was "bemused" and had expected them to be
"more American". "For days and days we couldn’t stop hugging the
children, couldn’t let them out of our sight – though I also couldn’t stop
picturing them with Granny. The final visit. Archie making deep, chivalrous
bows, his baby sister Lilibet cuddling the monarch’s shins. 'Sweetest
children,' Granny said, sounding bemused. She’d expected them to be a bit
more... American, I think? Meaning, in her mind, more rambunctious,'"
wrote Harry, quoted by Hello Magazine.
Royal fans are often eager to see glimpses of royal
children like Prince George and Prince Louis, but they rarely witness their
cousins Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in action.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to
California, taking their young son Archie with them after stepping back from
their roles as senior royals. Living in a $14 million Montecito home with
Archie and his younger sister Princess Lilibet, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
have largely kept their family life private, aside from revelations in Harry's
memoir, "Spare."
