Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Threatens To Install Lord Krishna Idol In Mathura Mosque

The
Mathura district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC
section 144 following an announcement by the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha that
it will install a Lord Krishna idol at the deity's "actual
birthplace", which it claims is in a mosque close to a prominent temple.
"Nobody
will be allowed to disturb the peace and tranquillity in Mathura,"
District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal said.
The
clampdown comes even as another right wing organisation, the Narayani Sena, has
said it will take out a march from Vishram Ghat to Sri Krishna Janmasthan,
demanding the "removal" of the mosque.
Section
144 of the CrPC prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area. Police
said they have detained Narayani Sena secretary Amit Mishra in Mathura Kotwali,
while the outfit claimed its national president Manish Yadav has been detained
in Lucknow.
Chahal
said he, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover, reviewed the
security around both the religious places, the Katra Keshav Dev temple and the
Shahi Idgah. He said the Mahasabha had requested permission to install the idol
at the mosque but it was turned down. Question of granting permission to any
event that may potentially disrupt peace does not arise, Chahal added.
Hindu
Mahasabha leader Rajyashri Choudhary had earlier said her organisation will
install the idol of Lord Krishna in the Shahi Idgah after a "maha
jalabhishek" to "purify" the place on December 6.
The
date marks the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, the site of a
temple-mosque dispute, in 1992. The Mahasabha's threat to perform the ritual
inside the Shahi Idgah comes at a time when the local courts are hearing a
series of petitions seeking the "removal" of the 17th century mosque.

Chairman
Pakistan Ulema Council Says, No One Allowed To Harm Any Minority Group In The
Name Of Religion
Photo Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi: Online/File
-----
November
29, 2021
Lahore:
Special
Representative to the PM on Interfaith Harmony and the Middle East Hafiz Tahir
Mehmood Ashrafi on Sunday said no one would be allowed to harm any minority group
in the name of religion in Pakistan.
“Islam
is a religion of peace and Muslims believe in respecting humanity,” he said
while addressing a news conference at the Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat
Studies.
The
Interfaith Harmony Council and Muttahida Ulema Board (MUB) held a meeting at
the center on Sunday in which all members expressed their satisfaction over
religious freedom in Pakistan.
Ashrafi
said that whenever minority communities faced some issue, the MUB always tried
to solve it in consultation with all stakeholders. He added that that around
127 cases of alleged forced marriages and conversion of religion etc. were
presented before the MUB in 2020 and all of them were resolved amicably.
He
said that Islam strictly prohibited forced marriages and conversions, adding
that no Muslim could think of going against the teachings of Islam.
“There
is no concept of forced marriages or conversion in our religion.”
Ashrafi
said that a 16-member committee including Sikh, Hindu and Christian members had
been formed under his supervision to settle the interfaith violence issues.
"We
will also meet leaders of all religions to settle their issues related to the
majority community across Pakistan.”
He
said on December 4, the first official meeting of the committee would be held
in Lahore. He said that at the MUB platform, 113 cases of minority communities
were resolved during the last year.

JI MPA scales Sindh Assembly gate to protest against ‘Minority Protection Bill’
He
said that it was found during the consultations that domestic violence in most
cases had forced people to take such steps [conversion and marriages].
There
were various other reasons also, but religion had nothing to do with those
incidents, he added.
“It
is the responsibility of the majority community, Muslims, to take care of the
rights of minorities. We are committed to ensuring protection of the rights of
minorities in the country.”
The
PM's representative said that the leadership of all religious schools of
thought in the country was united that the rights of minorities would be
protected at all levels.
Ashrafi
noted that more than 200 children had been murdered in India and more than 150
mosques demolished there, but the US had designated Pakistan as a country of
particular concern. He added that apparently the US report was based on mere
assumptions.
He
said the young generation must come to the forefront to play their role in
eradicating extremism, terrorism, dowry rituals and for spreading the moderate
message of Islam.
He
claimed that conspiracies were being hatched to spread anarchy in Pakistan
through fanning sectarian violence and sowing seeds of hatred against the
country’s security institutions.
To
a question, he said: “We are thankful to the government and people of Saudi
Arabia for extending help to Pakistan in the shape of State Bank of Pakistan
deposits and provision of oil on deferred payments.” APP

Saudi
Arabia’s Film Commission Launches Strategy To Develop Film And Cinema Sector
Saudi Film Commission set out a road map to make the
Kingdom a global hub for film production.
----
29
November ,2021
Saudi
Arabia’s Film Commission launched a strategy on Sunday setting out key pillars
and initiatives that will establish the Kingdom “as a world-class film hub with
a target to build an industry with a revenue of $500 million,” the official
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The
press agency reported that a new Saudi Film Institute will be launched,
dedicated to film production and professional training in cinematic
storytelling, and wider creative and technical skills, such as sound
engineering and animation.
The
Saudi Film Commission will also establish a National Archive of Films through
the collection, digitization and preservation of historical Saudi films and
audiovisual content, while also preserving the equipment used.
SPA
said an investment and awareness program to attract local and international
film studios, private entities and suppliers will “strengthen the filmmaking
value chain,” adding that an online one-stop-shop will be launched, where
permits, licenses, visas and other requirements can be easily applied for.
“The
Saudi film sector has gone from strength to strength with the emergence of the
sector providing once-in-a-lifetime business opportunities and partnerships,”
Saudi Film Commission CEO, Abdullah al-Qahtani, was quoted by SPA as saying.
“The
strategy provides our roadmap to achieve our aspirations of making Saudi a
global hub for film production and talent. The cinema industry in Saudi is one
of the fastest growing in the Middle East, which is further evidence that the
Saudi film sector is the emerging market to watch,” he added.
The
commission’s strategy focuses on six areas: Ensuring a world-class talent
pipeline and ensuring homegrown talent can compete with the best, creating a
film sector that can compete in terms of services, offerings and incentives,
boosting domestic film production, attracting further international production
houses, embedding a regulatory framework that enhances the quick development of
the sector, and promoting and distributing Saudi films in regional and
international markets.
The
strategy launch comes ahead of the Kingdom’s inaugural Red Sea International
Film Festival (RedSeaIFF), which is set to run from December 6 until December
15 in Jeddah Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As
the Kingdom’s first international film festival, RedSeaIFF is for “film lovers,
filmmakers, and the global film industry,” according to organizers. They also
announced that 27 films by Saudi film makers will be featured.

Israeli
President Isaac Herzog Storms Ibrahimi Mosque Accompanied By Extremist Settlers
Israeli President Isaac Herzog stormed the Ibrahimi
Mosque accompanied by settlers, amid strict security measures by the occupation
forces.
-----
November
29, 2021
Israeli
President Isaac Herzog stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque accompanied by settlers,
amid strict security measures by the occupation forces.
Yesterday,
Israeli President Isaac Herzog stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque, accompanied by
settlers, to "light the Hanukkah candle" in the compound to celebrate
the Jewish "Festival of Lights" or Hanukah.
The
occupation forces prevented worshipers from reaching the Ibrahimi Mosque in
al-Khalil, and expelled those already there, in preparation for the storming of
the campus by the Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Our
correspondent confirmed that "the occupation forces have toughened
restrictions on the movement of citizens living near the Ibrahimi Mosque and
closed all outlets leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque." The IOF established
"crossings around the Ibrahimi Mosque as part of its plan to tighten its
control."
In
an interview one of the residents in the neighborhood of the Ibrahimi Mosque
said, “We are continuing to confront the occupation despite all its measures
and attacks.”
Earlier
today, eyewitnesses reported that "dozens of Palestinians raised the
Palestinian flag after the Asr prayer in front of the entrance to the Ibrahimi
Mosque, and chanted condemning the intention of Israeli President Isaac Herzog
to storm it."
Witnesses
said that the Israeli occupation forces beat the protesters and arrested a
citizen.
The
Israeli occupation has gone too far: PIJ spokesman
"The
Israeli occupation's president's move is a continuation of the Judaization
process," said PIJ West Bank spokesperson Tariq Ezzedine, assuring that
the resistance faction would not allow the occupation to impose new facts on
the ground.
Ezzedine
underscored that the Israeli occupation is taking criminality against the
Palestinian people too far before the eyes of the complicit normalizing states.
"It
is highly probable that popular demonstrations will take place in defense of
the Ibrahimi Mosque," Ezzedine explained, asserting that the uprising has
not stopped and the Palestinian people are still resisting by all means
possible.
Additionally,
according to Ezzedine, the Israeli occupation is using internal Palestinian
issues to bolster its occupation and settlements.
"The
Israeli president's step proves that everyone is leaning toward the
right," reported Hamas spokesman in occupied al-Quds, Mohammad Hamadeh.
The
occupation is trying to impose new facts on the ground: PLO spokesman
In
turn, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation
Organization, Wasel Abu Yousef, explained that "there is an aggressive
policy of escalation against the Ibrahimi Mosque," pointing out that
"the storming by the President of the Israeli occupation of the site
reflects the aggressive and criminal policy of escalation."
Ayo
Youssef stressed that "the occupation is trying to impose facts on the
ground by storming the site, noting that there is US support for the Israeli
occupation in eroding the rights of our people."
Earlier
today, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry held the Israeli occupation fully
responsible for the attacks on the Ibrahimi Mosque and its consequences for
security in the region, considering that "the storming of the Ibrahimi
Mosque and al-Luban al-Sharqiya is an official adoption of settler
terrorism."
The
Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement (PYJ) also warned of the consequences of
Israeli President Isaac Herzog's storming of the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil,
noting that "the Al-Aqsa Intifada came in response to the storming of it
by former Israeli PM Ariel Sharon."

Diversity Campaign

NOV

Turkey's
Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop criticized France for hypocrisy after Paris
prevented the campaign launched by the Council of Europe to fight anti-Muslim
hate speech.
Speaking
at the 143rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Spain, Şentop
criticized France for vetoing a campaign launched by the Council of Europe
against anti-Muslim hate speech.
"We
have to expose this hypocrisy," Şentop said, pointing out that France
opposed the campaign despite having a significant domestic Muslim population.
"Turkey
will always stand by all the oppressed, aggrieved communities and people,
whether or not they're Muslim," he added.
Emphasizing
that populism is jeopardizing democracy and human rights, Şentop said:
"The Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Division of the Council of Europe
launched a very valuable campaign within the framework of combating
discrimination against women wearing headscarves."
"This
initiative, which deserves appreciation for the protection and advancement of
human rights, which is the basis of the Council of Europe, was unfortunately
terminated after the reactions of some politicians in France, which hosted the
council," he said.
Şentop
pointed out that discrimination and xenophobia have increased over the last 20
years, adding that hostility toward Islam, in particular, has reached dangerous
levels all over the world.
"Unfortunately,
the international community and institutions remain tone-deaf and ineffective
against this desperate situation," he said.
The
Council of Europe launched the campaign against the discrimination of women
wearing headscarves on Oct. 28.
Images
of women wearing headscarves were shared on the Twitter account of the
Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Division, with the slogans "Freedom is
in the headscarf," "Bring joy & accept hijabs" and
"Beauty is in diversity as freedom is in the hijab."
Macron
has become a figure of hate in some Muslim countries with many boycotting
French products after the French president defended Charlie Hebdo’s provocative
caricatures attacking the Prophet Muhammad. He has also been forced to the
defensive by critical headlines in influential English-language media outlets
such as the Financial Times and The New York Times.
Muslims
in France – the former colonies of which include predominantly Muslim countries
in North and West Africa as well as the Middle East – make up about 6% of the
population.
Anti-Muslim
hatred has significantly risen in Europe in recent years. Far-right extremism
and xenophobia have fueled Islamophobia in Western countries, where terrorist
attacks by Daesh and al-Qaida as well as a migrant crisis are used as excuses
to legitimize those views. France, home to the largest Muslim minority in
Europe, estimated at 5 million or more out of a population of 67 million, took
the helm of Islamophobic efforts to silence members of the minority group.
Critics denounced Macron for trying to galvanize far-right citizens to vote for
him in 2022 April presidential elections.
Macron's
anti-Muslim rhetoric sparked a wave of anti-Muslim feelings among far-right
groups. The number of Islamophobic incidents in France rose sharply last year.
According to the National Observatory of Islamophobia, there were 235 attacks
on Muslims in France in 2020, up from 154 the previous year, a 53% jump. Most
of the attacks took place in the Ile-de-France (greater Paris), Rhones-Alpes
and Paca regions of the country. Attacks on mosques jumped 35% in the same
year. A global coalition of 25 nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) asked the
European Commission to investigate France for its state-sponsored support of
Islamophobia.
The
French bill was criticized worldwide because it targets the Muslim community
and imposes restrictions on almost every aspect of their lives. It allows
intervening in mosques and the associations responsible for their
administration as well as controlling the finances of associations and NGOs
belonging to Muslims. It also restricts the education choices of the Muslim
community by preventing families from giving children home education. The bill
also prohibits patients from choosing doctors based on gender for religious or
other reasons and makes "secularism education" compulsory for all
public officials.
Most
recently, France announced its plans to close seven more mosques and
associations across the country by the end of 2021 on the pretext of
"radicalism" as part of its Islamophobic campaign against the
country's Muslim population.
Turkish
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has frequently criticized the French
government's anti-Muslim campaign and policies. Erdoğan said some Western
countries insist on not taking measures against growing anti-Islam sentiment.
Erdoğan also called on Turkish institutions to take action on issues related to
Muslims and Turks in these countries.
Last
year, the Turkish Foreign Ministry slammed Macron’s “Islamic separatism”
remarks for having a distorted approach and attempting to control migrant
communities in Europe through the establishment of fabricated concepts.

Fight Dowry In Marriages Wedding Hall ‘Free For Walima’ In Hyderabad
Usama
Hazari
28th
November 2021
Hyderabad:
Aman function hall at Mehdipatman has taken the initiative to fight dowry and
other forms of exploitation of the bride’s family in marriages, that are
prevalent in the country. The functional hall is offering to give its wedding
hall free of cost for the Walima (reception) to grooms who performed their
marriage according to the “Sunnah.” (Tradition of the Holy Prophet of Islam)
Abdul
Baari Hussaini of the Socio Reforms Society told Siasat.com that according to
them, the “Sunnah” is when the family of the bride doesn’t have to spend a
single rupee for the marriage. He added that their main agenda is to fight
against dowry as it goes against Islamic principles and is still prevalent in
Muslim society.
“We
want people to reject invitations to such marriages where the bride’s family is
coerced to spend money for jehez (dowry), shaadi function (wedding celebration)
and other such events,” Abdul Baari Hussaini added.
The
owner of the Aman Function Hall at Mehdipatnam is Azmatullah Khan who is
working with Dr Aleem Khan Falaki, the founder of Socio Reforms Society to
fight the exploitation of the woman’s families in the name of marriage.
Apart
from battling against the cancer of exploitative marriages in society, the
Socio Reforms Society also does marriage counselling, family counselling,
financial planning and organizes speech competitions for youngsters to develop

PM Blames Elite Captured Pakistan’s Resources For Pakistan’s Woes; Wants To
Make Country Islamic Welfare State
November
29, 2021
Prime
Minister Imran Khan says that the elite captured Pakistan’s resources and the
absence of rule of law had not only deprived the majority of the people of
basic amenities, but also kept the country from achieving its immense
potential.
“The
problem was the elite capture of resources which deprived the majority of
proper healthcare, education and justice… Lack of rule of law is the reason why
Pakistan had not achieved its potential,” the prime minister said in an online
conversation with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf aired on Sunday.
An
American Islamic scholar, Hamza Yusuf, is the president of Zaytuna College and
had also authored several encyclopaedia entries, academic papers, and articles
on Muslim bioethics, legal theory, abortion, and many other topics.
The
prime minister said no society could ever achieve its potential if there was no
rule of law.
“Merit
is also associated with rule of law. If you do not have meritocracy in a
society, you have this elite which is spoiled, rich and which did not strive
and struggle and they sit on the main positions… “Countries disintegrate
because of a decadent elite. People do not decay it is the elite that decays,”
he remarked.
The
prime minister said the fundamental principle of a civilised society was the
rule of law where powerful is also equally answerable to the law.
The
biggest problem in developing countries is the absence of rule of law and
discriminatory laws for the rich and the poor, he explained.
He
told the interviewer that he wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state
based on the concept of state of Madina by our Prophet (PBUH).
“We
want to base this country on two princi-ples. One it should be a welfare state
and hu-mane state which takes care of its bottom strata of society and second
rule of law.”
Talking
about the climate crisis, he said the environment should be treated as sacred.
The
biggest environmental disaster in the world called climate change was because
human beings had deviated from the basic principle of protect-ing the earth, he
said.

Jamaat-i-Islami
Emir Sirajul Haq To Stop Interference In The Country’s Political Affairs
November
29, 2021
ISLAMABAD:
Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq has asked the “establishment” to stop
interference in the country’s political affairs if it wants to avoid public
criticism.
This
was stated by Mr Haq while addressing the participants of a youth march
organised by the party here on Sunday, said a press release.
The
JI Youth Pakistan had organised the march of unemployed educated people from
across the country in the federal capital to protest against joblessness and
inflation. The participants of the march raised slogans against the anti-youth
policies of the government.
Reminding
the prime minister of his promise to create 10 million jobs, the protesters
marched from Embassy Road to D-Chowk and vowed to continue struggle for their
rights until the rulers ensure provision of their rights.
Sirajul
Haq said it had been proved after three years that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf
(PTI) lacked the capacity and vision to run the country. Unemployment and
inflation were uncontrolled and more than 20 million children were out of
schools due to poverty, he said, adding that the ruling elite never paid
attention to the common man’s issues whether it was the government of the PTI
or the former regimes of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples
Party.
The
JI chief said the people from Karachi to Gwadar were protesting for their
rights but the rulers were not willing to listen to their demands. He urged the
government to address the demands of fishermen of Gwadar and ensure
compensation to the Nasla Town-affected people.

KP

police had arrested a man for allegedly desecrating the Quran on Sunday and
shifted him to the Mandani police station in Charsadda's Tangi tehsil.
A
mob later gathered outside the police station and demanded that officials hand

to a sizeable number by late evening, grew agitated and attacked the police

police station, according to the minister.
He

government will not allow anyone to take the law into their own hands," he
said. "The suspect who has been arrested will be proceeded against in
accordance with the law."
The
minister added that the situation was still tense in the area.
Given
the current law and order situation, police have yet to release more details
about the man in custody and the complaint against him. Police also did not
confirm any casualties in the violence.
Accused
is 'mentally unstable', says DSP
Mandani
circle DSP Ishaq told Dawn that the person who had allegedly torched the Holy
Quran was apparently mentally deranged, adding that the accused was immediately
taken into custody and shifted to an unknown location. “Apparently, the accused
is mentally unstable and he cannot speak.”
Peshawar
Division Commissioner Riaz Mehsud confirmed the attack, saying 4,000-5,000
people had ransacked the police station and a police post in their pursuit for
"mob justice".
He
added that the man is in police custody and is safe.
Following
the attack, the mob staged a sit-in on Harichand Road. But late at night,
Mehsud said the administration had controlled the situation with the help of
local religious elders, and the mob had ended the sit-in and dispersed.
Earlier,
Charsadda police spokesperson Shafiullah Jan confirmed that a mob had attacked
the police station and that the situation was tense in the area. He added that
police were trying to control the situation.
"The
mob was angry and police failed to control it," a police official
requesting anonymity told Dawn.com.
"The
situation is still tense and police personnel from other areas have also
reached the spot to control the mob," he said.

Media
freedom at risk as Taliban censors news reports in northern Afghanistan: Report
29
Nov 2021
The
local authorities in northern Badakshan province have asked media outlets to
publish their reports after a review and censorship, the Afghanistan
journalists safety committee reported.
The
Afghanistan journalists safety committee (AJSC) in its latest report claimed
the Taliban authorities in Badakhshan province have announced that no media or
news agencies are permitted to publish against the interest of the Taliban
administration.
The
provincial Director of Information and Culture, Muezuddin Ahmadi has said that
women are not allowed to appear in public for reporting purposes, while he has
said female media workers can work in the office apart from the male staff,
AJSC reported.
According
to the source, the guideline issued by the Ministry of Promoting Virtue and
Prohibiting Vice has also raised concerns amongst the media owners believing
that both the financial crisis and further limiting media activities could lead
to the closure of more media outlets.
This
comes as, since the return of the Taliban into power, dozens of media outlets
including news agencies, radio, and TV stations have collapsed.
Earlier
reports suggested over 150 media organizations have been shut down due to the
financial crisis.

An
underground network of intelligence operatives helped Taliban seize Kabul
29
Nov 2021
The
Taliban have had an underground network of intelligence operatives that helped
them seize power from inside, parallel to their military victory.
Taliban’s
agents have been present in ministries, universities, business entities, and
aid organizations, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.
Mawlawi
Mohammad Salim Saad, a key Taliban leader loyal to Haqqani Network has told WSJ
they had agents in every organization and department who had already taken the
control of strategic locations before they enter Kabul.
Mohammad
Salim Saad is the security chief for the Kabul International Airport.
According
to WSJ, the Taliban’s men were tasked on August 15 to take out their guns from
hiding and conduct special operations in disarming security forces and taking
the control of the strategic locations in the capital Kabul.
Mohammad
Rahim Omari, a mid-level commander in the Badri force, was working undercover
at his family’s gasoline-trading business in Kabul before he was called into
action that day. He said he and 12 others were dispatched to an Afghan intelligence
service compound in the east of the city, where they disarmed the officers on
duty and stopped them from destroying computers and files, WSJ said.
Other
cells fanned out to seize other government and military installations and
reached Kabul airport, where the U.S. was mounting a massive evacuation effort.
They took control of the airport’s perimeter until better-armed Taliban troops
arrived from the countryside in the morning. One agent, Mullah Rahim, was even
dispatched to secure the Afghan Institute of Archaeology and its treasures from
potential looters.
Kamran,
who didn’t want his surname to be used, was tasked with taking over his alma
mater, Kabul University, and the Ministry of Higher Education.
A
30-year-old from Wardak province west of Kabul, he said he became a Taliban
recruiter when he was pursuing a master’s degree in Arabic at the university in
2017. He estimates that, over the years, he persuaded some 500 people, mostly
students, to join the insurgency. To maintain his cover, he shaved his chin,
wore sunglasses and dressed in suits or jeans.
“Many
of our friends who had beards were targeted,” he recalled. “I was above
suspicion. While many of our low-ranking friends were arrested, I wasn’t. Even
though I was their leader.”
Many
of his acquaintances—former classmates, teachers and guards—first realized he
was a member of the Taliban when he showed up with a gun on Aug. 15, he said.
“Many employees of the ministry and the entire staff of the university knew me.
They were surprised to see me,” said Kamran, whose new job is head of security
for Kabul’s several universities.
Kamran
has since adopted the Taliban’s trademark look: a black turban, a white shalwar
kameez and a long beard. As for his suits and jeans, they are gathering dust in
his closet. “Those aren’t our traditional outfits,” he said. “I don’t think I
will have to wear them again.”
The
WSJ report also uncovers that there have been key Taliban members among the
students who were given scholarship opportunities to study in India.
Ahmad
Wali Haqmal, who is now the spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance was a key
Taliban member in the Kandahar University and was later sent to study Human
rights in Aligarh Muslim Univesity of India, WSJ reported.
Bilal
Sarwary, journalist and an activist on Twitter has shared a snapshot of his
earlier post in response to the Wall Street Journal’s correspondent saying two
Taliban members were employees of AIB in a Kabul downtown, Shahre-e-Now.
My
neighbor who posed as an ordinary Afghan and lived with his family for years in
Taymani was indeed a key Taliban intel operative. He was a good and polite
neighbour until the end, Bilal Sarwary tweeted on Sunday.

Over
60 Jewish settlers defile Aqsa Mosque in morning tours
November
29, 2021
Dozens
of Jewish settlers escorted by police forces on Sunday morning desecrated the
Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem).
According
to local sources, at least 64 settlers entered the Mosque in different groups
through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under police protection.
During
their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from
rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them provocatively
performed Talmudic prayers.
Meanwhile,
the Israeli occupation police imposed movement restrictions on Muslim
worshipers, and searched and maltreated many of them in the Old City and on the
roads leading to the Aqsa Mosque.
The
Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers and police
forces in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays.
The
Israeli police close al-Maghariba Gate, which is used by Jews to enter the
Mosque, at 10:30 am after the settlers complete their morning tours at the holy
site. Later in the afternoon, the same gate is reopened for evening tours by
settlers.

Assassination of Iranian N. Scientist Fakhrizadeh Violation of Human Rights
2021-November-28
“The
assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh, like the assassination of other dear
nuclear scientists who were martyred, is a crime against humanity and a
violation of international laws and human rights,” Qaribabadi said on the
occasion of the first anniversary of assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh.
He
criticized the inaction and silence of international organizations and
countries claiming to fight terrorism towards this crime, saying that the
Tehran judiciary has completed the legal investigation into four cases of
assassination of nuclear scientists and the relevant verdict will be announced
soon.
On
the other hand, criminal investigation into these assassinations is also on the
agenda of the Tehran Prosecutor's Office, and a case has been filed in this
regard, and other cases will be filed soon, Qaribabadi added.
“We
expect that with the coordination and cooperation of other relevant bodies, we
will pursue and investigate these crimes in the international arena too,” he
said.
Iranian
nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh's car was targeted by an explosion and
machinegun fire in Damavand's Absard 40 kilometers to the East of Tehran on
November 27, 2020.
The
nuclear scientist and one of his companions were immediately taken to a nearby
hospital but he could not be saved.
After
the terrorist attack, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)
Major General Hossein Salami underlined that assassination of Fakhrizadeh may
not undermine Iranians' resolve, and said revenge for the terror attack is
already on the country's agenda.
General
Salami extended condolences to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, martyr Fakhrizadeh's family, and the Iranian
nation over the martyrdom of Head of the Research and Innovation Organization
of Iran's Defense Ministry, Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated in an
organized and pre-planned terrorist attack by the child-killing Israeli regime.
"The
enemies of the Iranian nation, specially the masterminds, perpetrators and
supporters of this crime, should also know that such crimes will not undermine
the resolve of the Iranians to continue this glorious and power-generating
path, and harsh revenge and punishment is on agenda for them," the IRGC
chief commander stressed.
Iranian
nuclear scientists have been the target of the western and Israeli spy agencies'
assassination attempts in recent years.
In
June 2012, Iran announced that its intelligence forces had identified and
arrested all terrorist elements behind the assassination of the country's
nuclear scientists.
"All
the elements involved in the assassinations of the country's nuclear scientists
have been identified and arrested," Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced
in a statement.
"A
number of countries, whose territories and facilities had been misused by the
Mossad-backed terrorist teams, have provided the Iranian officials with
relevant information," the statement added.
"Over
the course of the investigations, all other elements behind the assassinations
of the Iranian scientists Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, Majid Shahriari and Mostafa
Ahmadi Roshan as well as Reza Qashqaei (Roshan's driver) have been
apprehended," the statement read.
"Some
of the perpetrators of the assassination of Dr. Fereidoun Abbasi, the current
head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, are among those arrested," the
ministry added.
According
to the statement, Iran's Intelligence Ministry had detected some of Mossad's
bases within the territories of one of Iran's Western neighbors, which provided
training and logistical support to the terrorist networks.
In
the fifth attack of its kind in two years, terrorists killed a 32-year-old
Iranian scientist, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, and his driver on January 11, 2012.
The
blast took place on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Iranian
university professor and nuclear scientist, Massoud Ali Mohammadi, who was also
assassinated in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in January 2010.

Low
expectations on nuclear talks as Iran creates facts on the grounds
28
November ,2021
World
powers and Iran return to Vienna on Monday for a last ditch effort to salvage a
2015 nuclear deal, but few expect a breakthrough as Tehran’s atomic activities
rumble on in an apparent bid to gain leverage against the West.
For
the latest headlines, follow our Google News channel online or via the app.
Diplomats
say time is running low to resurrect the pact, which then-US President Donald
Trump abandoned in 2018, angering Iran and dismaying the other world powers
involved - Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia.
Six
rounds of indirect talks were held between April and June. The new round begins
after a hiatus triggered by the election of a new Iranian president, Ebrahim
Raisi, a hardline cleric.
Tehran’s
new negotiating team has set out demands that US and European diplomats
consider unrealistic. They are insisting that all US and EU sanctions imposed
since 2017, including those unrelated to its nuclear programme, be dropped,
In
parallel, Tehran’s conflicts with the UN atomic watchdog, which monitors the
nuclear programme, have festered. Iran has pressed ahead with its enrichment
programme and the IAEA says its inspectors have been treated roughly and
refused access to re-install monitoring cameras at a site it deems essential to
reviving the deal with world powers.
“They
are doing enough technically so they can change their basic relationship with
the West to be able to have a more equal dialogue in the future,” said a
Western diplomat involved in the talks.
Two
European diplomats said it seemed Iran was simply playing for time to
accumulate more material and know-how.
Western
diplomats say they will head to Monday’s talks on the premise that they resume
where they left off in June. They have warned that if Iran continues with its
maximalist positions and fails to restore its cooperation with the IAEA then
they will have to quickly review their options.
Iran’s
top negotiator and foreign minister both repeated on Friday that full sanctions
lifting would be the only thing on the table in Vienna.
“If
this is the position that Iran continues to hold on Monday, then I don’t see a
negotiated solution,’ said one of the European diplomats.
Several
diplomats said Iran was now between four to six weeks away from the “breakout
time” it needs to amass enough fissile material for a single nuclear weapon,
although they cautioned it was still about two years from being able to
weaponise it.
Should
the talks collapse, the likelihood is the US and its allies will initially
confront Iran at the IAEA next month by calling for an emergency meeting.
However,
they will also want to try to keep Russia, which has political influence on
Iran, and China, which provides economic breathing space to Tehran through oil
purchases, on side as they initially seek alternative diplomatic options.
One
scenario diplomats say Washington has suggested is negotiating an open-ended
interim accord with Tehran as long as a permanent deal isn’t achieved. However,
they say that it would take time and there is no certainty Iran has any
appetite for it.

Palestinian

Describing
the move as a “setback”, Hamas said signing security and military deals with

Will
you accept Amanah for sake of ummah unity, Umno man asks PAS
November
28, 2021
PETALING
JAYA: An Umno leader took a swipe at PAS for shutting out its splinter party,
Amanah, in pursuing its oft-repeated calls for the unity of the ummah.
Lenggong
MP Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said PAS should embrace Amanah if it is insistent that
Umno should accept the Bersatu-led Perikatan Nasional (PN) into the Muafakat
Nasional (MN) fold in the larger interests of Malay-Muslim unity.
He
said today he agreed with PAS’ position that the question of unity of the ummah
should not be confined to certain groups or be done in a selective manner.
He
was commenting on a statement by PAS Youth chief Abdul Fadhli Shaari who
supported party president Abdul Hadi Awang’s stand that MN would be
“incomplete” without PN in the grouping.
“I
agree with Fadhli’s statement that the concept of ummah unity should not be
exclusive to certain Malay-Muslim parties. So will PAS embrace Amanah for the
sake of ummah unity?” Shamsul asked in a Facebook post.
“I
hope that PAS, being a party that claims to represent Islam, will give us a
clear response to this question,” he said.
Hadi
had said recently that he was seeking to form a grand coalition of Malay
parties in the spirit of the unity of the ummah.
He
stressed that MN should not only be confined to Umno and PAS, and urged the
group to include PN, which he described as a much more diverse coalition.

‘Ask
the Education Ministry,’ says national unity minister regarding Chinese school
signboard debacle
28
Nov 2021
BY
KEERTAN AYAMANY
KUALA
LUMPUR, Nov 28 — National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique has
reportedly declined to answer questions regarding public-funded Chinese schools
in Pahang that were given new signboards bearing only Bahasa Malaysia and Jawi
script.
News
portal Malaysiakini reported today that Halimah also declined to comment
regarding Deputy Education Minister Mah Hang Soon’s intervention in the same
matter.
“Because
this (directive) is from the (Pahang) Education Department, I think we should
get a response from the Education Ministry,” she was quoted as saying.
“This
matter is related to the responsibilities of the educational institution. Even
at school level.
“Whatever
decisions made will be based on what is available to the ministry. So I can’t
answer this,” she reportedly said.
In
early November, Chinese-language newspaper Sin Chew reported the signboard
issue, which caused an uproar among the public, educationalists and politicians
as many said it was against the spirit of multiculturalism.
Yesterday,
Mah announced that he had instructed the state education department to remake
the signboards, this time bearing Chinese and Tamil characters, adding that the
signboards without the Chinese characters will not need to be put up yet.

is no need to fight with anyone. Today, the Melaka government has been formed
and we can cooperate for the benefit of the people. They have the responsibility
to speak out,” said Ahmad Faizal, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, after
attending a blood donation programme here today.

Calls
grow within PAS for the Islamist party to team up with Umno after Melaka poll
Nadirah
H. Rodzi
NOV
26, 2021
KUALA
LUMPUR - Malaysia's Islamist Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) has found itself
between a rock and hard place following the Melaka state election, torn between
working with Umno, the big winner in the poll, or its partner in the Perikatan
Nasional (PN) coalition, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
A
senior PAS member, Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, who is a member of Parliament, as
well as the party's central committee, on Wednesday (Nov 24) joined growing
calls for PAS to work with Umno.
He
said that it was time for a political realignment, reminding top PAS leaders
that it was better for the party to "lick its wounds" and team up
with the Malay-centric party.
But
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang on Thursday said that he was seeking a grand
coalition of all three Malay parties.
The
Islamist party is aligned to both Umno and Bersatu but through separate pacts -
with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN) and Bersatu in PN.
PAS
and Umno have been at loggerheads for years but that changed in 2019 when both
agreed to the MN pact. Umno blocked Bersatu from joining MN.
Both
Umno and PN help to prop up the government of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri
Yaakob who only enjoys a slim majority in Parliament.
"PAS
upholds the concept of unity in accordance with the Islamic perspective, which
is the unity of Muslims, and also the unity amongst diverse people, including
non-Muslims. Therefore, PAS rejects MN which only involves Umno and PAS,"
Tan Sri Abdul Hadi said on Facebook.
"PAS
also rejects the ideology that denies the existence of diverse communities
which needs to be addressed through a wider coalition which is PN," he
added.
Mr
Abdul Hadi likened MN and PN as "two arms belonging to one body",
saying that they could not exist separately.
In
the Melaka polls on Nov 20, the Umno-led Barisan Nasional coalition won 21 out
of the 28 seats at stake to regain its two-thirds majority in the legislative
assembly. The opposition Pakatan Harapan coalition took five and PN the
remaining two.
PAS
lost in all the seats it contested under the PN banner but the party claims
that it got more votes in Melaka than the previous poll in 2018.
Political
observers say that the defeat in the Melaka polls has led some PAS members to
push for cooperation with Umno, believing that it will otherwise be difficult
for PAS to strengthen its position in the next general election.
"Only
Umno is able to provide a brighter coupling compared to Bersatu, it's proven in
the Melaka election. So it's not surprising if PAS returns to MN when the time
comes," University of Malaya sociopolitical analyst Awang Azman Awang Pawi
told The Straits Times.
"There
is no issue of being embarrassed for making a U-turn, it's not a foreign move
in politics... as long as it can benefit and ensure their political position is
not threatened," he said, claiming that PAS' grassroots prefer cooperating
with Umno than Bersatu.
But
Professor James Chin, who specialises in Malaysian politics at the University
of Tasmania's Asia Institute, thinks otherwise.
"A
lot of PAS members hold a deep animosity towards Umno and many of Umno's core
supporters hate PAS - both accuse each other of breaking Malay unity," he
told ST.
"Based
on my assessment, it would be very difficult for Umno and PAS to come
together," he said.

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi says judges refuse to hold hearing on disqualification
appeal
28
November ,2021
Saif
al-Islam Gaddafi said on Sunday that judicial authorities have refused to hold
a hearing to consider his appeal against Libya’s High National Election
Commission decision to disqualify his candidacy in the upcoming presidential
elections.
Earlier
this week, Al Arabiya reported that Gaddafi’s team planned to file an appeal
with the judicial authorities to challenge the commission’s decision to exclude
him from the election scheduled for next month on the grounds that he did not
meet the conditions for candidacy.
Attorney
Khaled al-Ghuwail told Al Arabiya that the commission’s decision, which was
based on Article 10 of the Presidential Election Law, constitutes a legal
violation and does not apply to Gaddafi, as no final judicial ruling was issued
against his client in any felony or crime as evidenced by Gaddafi’s criminal
record, which does not include any precedents.

Sudanese
soldiers killed in attack by Ethiopian forces: Sudan military
28
November ,2021
Several
Sudanese soldiers were killed in an attack by Ethiopian forces near the border
between the countries, Sudan’s army said on Saturday.
“Groups
of the Ethiopian army and militias attacked our forces in al-Fashaqa al-Sughra…
The armed forces incurred several losses but will continue to protect our
lands,” the army said in a statement, without stating the number of troops
killed.
The
Sudanese army added that it inflicted “heavy losses in lives and equipment” on
the Ethiopian forces.

Sudan
Tribune cited military sources as saying that the fighting on the border
between Sudan and Ethiopia resulted in the death of 21 soldiers and injured at
least 30 others.
The
Sudanese news outlet said the fighting lasted eight hours and heavy artillery
and machine guns were used.
The
location of the clash, Al-Fashaqa, is an area that borders Ethiopia’s troubled
Tigray region and has seen several deadly clashes between the two sides over
the past years, but it became more frequent over the last year.

Libya’s
presidential hopefuls petition against PM's candidacy: Reports
28
November ,2021
Candidates
for Libya's presidential election have petitioned against the interim prime
minister's bid and a Tripoli court is to examine their request, media reports
said Sunday.
Influential
former interior minister Fathi Bashagha was among several presidential hopefuls
to have filed appeals against premier Abdulhamid Dbeibah's candidacy, the
reports said.
The
Tripoli appeals court accepted their petitions and will examine them before
giving a ruling.
If
it rejects Dbeibah's bid, he will have 72 hours to appeal, according to the
reports.
For
the latest headlines, follow our Google News channel online or via the app.
A
source close to Bashagha told AFP the court would look specifically into
complaints that Dbeibah did not resign his post three months before submitting
his candidacy, in accordance with Libya's electoral law.
The
December 24 polls come as part of a push to end a decade of violence in
oil-rich Libya following a NATO-backed uprising that toppled and killed Moamer
Kadhafi in 2011.
Libya's
electoral commission HNEC said earlier this month it had rejected the candidacy
of Kadhafi's son, Seif al-Islam Kadhafi.
He
was among 25 candidates rejected on legal grounds as well as based on
information from officials, including the public prosecutor, it said.
For
Seif al-Islam, the HNEC pointed to articles of the electoral law stipulating
that candidates “must not have been sentenced for a dishonorable crime” and
must present a clean criminal record.
Seif
al-Islam is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes
committed during the Libyan uprising.
He
was also sentenced to death by a Tripoli court for crimes committed during the
revolt that toppled his father, but later pardoned by a rival administration in
eastern Libya.
A
total of 98 candidates, including two women, had registered for the December
polls, according to the HNEC.

As
nuclear talks resume, Israel PM says worried US is readying to lift Iran
sanctions
28
November ,2021
Israel’s
PM Naftali Bennett said on Sunday he is worried the US might be preparing to
lift its sanctions on Iran, a day ahead of the resumption of talks to revive
the 2015 nuclear deal in Vienna.
“Israel
is very concerned about the willingness to lift sanctions and allow the flow of
billions to Iran in exchange for insufficient restrictions on the nuclear
program,” Bennet said.
“This
is a message that we are conveying in every way, both to the Americans and to
the other countries that are negotiating with Iran,” he added.
Indirect
talks between the US and Iran, with participation of France, Russia, China, UK
and Germany, to revive the abandoned 2015 nuclear deal are set to resume in
Vienna on Monday after a five-month hiatus.
Israel
strongly opposes the 2015 nuclear deal and doesn’t want the US to return to it
under Joe Biden’s presidency.
In
August, Bennett met with Biden in the White House and discussed Iran. Biden
told the Israeli PM that if diplomatic negotiations failed regarding Iran’s
nuclear deal, then Washington was prepared with other options.
Washington
has threatened a so called “Plan B” was in place if diplomacy with Tehran
failed, but did not elaborate on the details of said plan.
A
senior Israeli diplomat said on Sunday: “The Americans are saying one thing to
us and then the opposite within a few hours,” according to the Jerusalem Post.

US
to exert pressure on Iran if it uses Vienna talks to boost nuclear program:
Envoy
28
November ,2021
The
US and its partners will exert pressure on Iran if it uses the Vienna talks
scheduled to resume on Monday as a ruse to accelerate its nuclear program, US
special envoy to Iran Robert Malley told BBC on Saturday.
“If
Iran thinks it can use this time to build more leverage and then come back and
say they want something better it simply won't work. We and our partners won't
go for it,” he said.
He
added: “If that's Iran's approach, which is to try to use the negotiations as
cover for an accelerated nuclear program, and as I say, drag its feet at the
nuclear table, we will have to respond in a way that is not our preference.”
For
the latest headlines, follow our Google News channel online or via the app.
“Nobody
should be surprised if at that point there is increased pressure on Iran,”
Malley, who heads the US negotiating team to the talks in Vienna, said.
Indirect
talks between the US and Iran, with participation of France, Russia, China, UK
and Germany, to revive the abandoned 2015 nuclear deal are set to resume in
Vienna on Monday after a five-month hiatus.
Under
the 2015 accord, Iran was only allowed to enrich uranium up to 3.67 percent,
way below the 90 percent required for weapons-grade uranium.
However,
after former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the accord in 2018 and
imposed sanctions on Iran, Tehran began aggressively enriching uranium.
Talks
between Iran and the US have stalled after Ebrahim Raisi was elected president
in June.
Washington
has repeatedly warned that its patience was wearing thin and threatened a so
called “Plan B” was in place if Tehran wouldn’t play ball, but did not elaborate
on the details of said plan.

The
murder of Iranian nuclear scientists has failed to hamper its progress
Monday,
29 November 2021
November
27th marks the anniversary of the assassination of prominent Iranian scientist,
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, by external elements, which was meant to hamper the nuclear
advancements made by Iran. But the
anti-Iran project has proven ineffective as Tehran continues to make progress
with its peaceful nuclear program.
The
former head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive
Innovation and Research, Dr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was assassinated on the 27th of
November 2020 when his car came under attack near his countryside residence,
east of Tehran.
Dr
Fakhrizadeh had reportedly been on Israel's hit list since at least 2007.
This
is how Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of project AMAD put it; remember that name,
Fakhrizadeh.
Bejamin
Netanyahu, Former Israeli PM
But
he wasn't the only Iranian scientist to have been targeted by Israel. The
regime made several assassination attempts between 2007 and 2012 that claimed
the lives of four Iranian nuclear scientists and wounded another, not to
mention the sabotage attacks on Iranian nuclear sites which have become more
frequent in the last few months.
Iran
has vowed to continue to work on its peaceful nuclear programme. The
international community, however, was largely silent over the recent
assassination; a similar attitude of indifference as displayed by its
indifference toward Israeli airstrikes on Syria, and its aggression on the
Palestinian people.
The
point is simple. Israel is America's most important friend and ally in the
Middle East and in North Africa. Israel is exempt from prosecution in the eyes
of America simply because without Israel, America, America's position in the
Middle East and in North Africa, would be in serious jeopardy.
Marcus
Papadopoulos, Historian
Iran
has vowed a harsh response against those behind the attacks on Iranian nuclear
scientists and facilities.
A
report published by The New York Times suggests that the United States has
called on Israel to stop its attacks on Iran's nuclear programme, suggesting
that they could help strengthen Iranian capabilities.
The
article cites officials familiar with the discussions who said Washington has
told Tel Aviv that the attacks are ultimately counterproductive as Iran has
been able to replace the damaged centrifuges with newer and much more capable
ones within months.
According
to the article, the US officials have admitted that Iran has improved its
defenses, including with regard to its cyber-security, rendering an attack
similar to the Stuxnet virus extremely difficult to carry out with any palpable
success.
Israeli
officials have reportedly rejected the US call, saying they don't have any
intention of ending their anti Iran policies.
Yet
the credibility of the whole report is under question as Washington and Tel
Aviv hardly ever disagree on anything, especially when it comes to Iran.
The
Americans understand that Israel's actions often cannot be defended publicly.
So it cannot always be seen in public, as siding with the Israelis.
