Hasnae Taleb: First Arab Woman
Recognized by the US Department of State and Nasdaq as the SheWolf of Nasdaq
Moroccan
Hasnae Taleb

05-13-2024
On April 27th, the internet buzzed with
news of Hasnae Taleb's remarkable achievements. Applauded by the US Department
of State for her outstanding contributions to the Nasdaq Stock Market, she made
history as the first Arab-American woman to receive such prestigious
recognition. With a nod of admiration, the Nasdaq Stock Market, one of the
leading stock exchanges in the world, nominated her as the "SheWolf of
Nasdaq," for her exponential performance and results.
Hasnae's journey began in a small
Moroccan town. At just 17, she set her sights on the American Dream and made
her move to the US. By the time she turned 23, she'd already racked up a
million dollars trading stocks from her bedroom. From there, she soared to
managing over $660 million assets under management in Wall Street.
But Hasnae's story doesn't end there.
She's a key player in the American Chamber of Commerce in the UAE and manages a
staggering $4.8 Billion in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). At an
age when many are just starting out, she holds the title of the youngest asset
manager under 30 in the world.
HasnaeTaleb's story is more than just
numbers; it's a testament to breaking barriers and inspiring women worldwide.
As the SheWolf of Nasdaq, her journey from humble beginnings to international
recognition showcases the power of perseverance. When asked for her advice to
retail investors amidst growing market interest, Hasnae shared 7 invaluable
tips:
*
Start with Education: Do your homework:
Don't jump in based on hype or hot tips. Understand basic investment
principles, different asset classes (stocks, bonds, ETFs), and how the market works.
If you don't have a mentor, get yourself one.
*
Develop a Long-Term Plan: Invest for
your goals: Are you saving for retirement, a down payment on a house, or
short-term needs? Align your investment strategy with your time horizon and
risk tolerance.
*
Diversification: Don't put all your eggs
in one basket: Spread your investments across different sectors and asset
classes to mitigate risk. Something that I personally used to apply when I
first got into the stock market is what I call "The 5% Rule". As a
newbie investor, you should never allocate more than 5% of your portfolio funds
into one investment or asset.
*
Beware of Volatility: The market goes up
and down: Expect fluctuations, especially in the first half of 2024. A
long-term perspective is crucial.
*
Control Your Emotions: Don't chase
trends or get caught up in FOMO (fear of missing out): Develop a disciplined
approach and stick to your investment plan. Avoid making impulsive decisions
based on emotions.
*
Invest What You Can Afford to Lose: Only
invest what you won't need in the short term: The stock market can be
unpredictable, so invest only what you're comfortable losing.
*
And most importantly, always seek the
professional advice of your financial advisor, and if you don't have one, it's
time to get one as soon as possible.
In conclusion, HasnaeTaleb emerges as a
guiding light amidst the labyrinthine world of stock market investing. With her
emphasis on education, long-term planning, diversification, emotional
discipline, prudent investing, and seeking professional guidance, Hasnae equips
individuals with the tools needed to navigate the volatile terrain of the stock
market with confidence and fortitude. As investors and traders embark on their
own journeys, they can draw inspiration and guidance from the remarkable
insights shared by the SheWolf of Nasdaq herself, setting sail toward financial
success and resilience.

Pop Star Jennifer Lopez Follows Iranian-Iraqi
Shia Cleric, Sparks Controversy

-----
MAY 13, 2024
Last week, amid the ongoing government
crackdown on women over mandatory hijab in Iran, news emerged of the Instagram
account of Jennifer Lopez following a Shia cleric.
The cleric is Mohammad Javad Qazvini.
Qazvini, a young Iranian-Iraqi cleric
living in Texas, is known for his fluent American English and for establishing
an Islamic network in the United States.
Following the revelation, speculations
abounded on social media. Some treated the news with humor, while others
pondered the possibility of Lopez's page admin following them inadvertently.
However, what particularly piqued the
interest of certain Iranian media outlets is that Qazvini does not follow her
back.
Why Lopez's Interest in Mysticism Raises
Questions
It seems there's a misconception
regarding Jennifer Lopez following a Shia Mullah.
Between 2008 and 2012, numerous rumors
were circulating on websites and forums suggesting that Lopez was converting to
Islam.
However, Lopez, born to Roman Catholic
parents of South American descent in New York, has consistently been in the
public eye regarding her religious beliefs.
During her Las Vegas concert in the fall
of 2018, Lopez expressed her gratitude to God for her talent and abilities,
shedding tears onstage while thanking the divine for her gifts.
This moment was covered by outlets like
the "Christian Post," which often reports on news relevant to
Christianity.
Moreover, Lopez's interest in
spirituality extends beyond her Christian faith.
She follows Instagram pages focused on
spiritual empowerment, including the page of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a popular
Indian mystic and spiritual teacher. Vasudev also appeared in Lopez's latest
film, "This is Me...Now".
Iranian journalist FahimheKherzrheidari,
who has interviewed Shia clerics known for innovative thinking, has made
assertions where there seems to be a discussion about Western perceptions of
Islam.
She suggested that there is a
sentimental misunderstanding about Islam in the West, where discussions on
inclusion and defense of Muslim women's hijab are prevalent.
She emphasized the need for an informed
critique of Islam, particularly addressing issues such as homosexuals facing
the death penalty and female genital mutilation.
Who is Javad Mohammad Qazvini
The website "American Muslim Youth
Network," an institution founded by Qazvini in Houston, Texas, has
published a short biography of him.
In the introduction of the book, he is
described as a "religious leader" who "embraces change while
still maintaining a firm hold on the tenets of Islam as a whole."
It says he began his religious studies
at the age of 16 under the supervision of his grandfather, Ayatollah
MortezaQazvini.
He went to Qom in 2007 and obtained his
doctorate there.
According to the structure of the
Iranian higher education system, students who pass eight interviews, prepare a
thesis, and complete at least six years of religious education at this level
graduate with a level four certificate. This certificate is equivalent to a
doctorate.
Mohammad JavadQazvini was born in Iraq.
His grandfather, Ayatollah MortezaQazvini, was the imam of the third Shia
congregation in Karbala and close to Ali Khamenei.
Ayatollah Qazvini thanked Khamenei on
behalf of the people of Karbala and the Shia of Iraq in 2015 for what he called
"helping to save Iraq from terrorists and extremists."
This likely refers to the presence of
the Quds Force of the IRGC in Iraq, ostensibly to combat ISIS.
However, it has been heavily criticized
by the Iraqi people. Even the main slogan of one of the largest student and
popular protests in Iraq in the fall of 2018 was "Free Baghdad, Iran Get
Out."
Mohammad JavadQazvini has studied under
Mohsen Vahid Khorasani and Ali Milani, both from the Qom seminary, for years in
Iran.
He moved to the United States about 16
years ago.
Mohammad JavadQazvini likely made
contact with the Al-Kowsar Society in Pakistan, an organization for promoting
Shia Islam, which is reportedly financially supported by the Islamic Republic.
A certificate for one of the Islamic
courses he conducts is issued by the Al-Kowsar Society in Islamabad.
This religious institution, through the
teaching of spiritual sciences, has extensive activities in Pakistan to
organize the Shia community there and Pakistanis abroad in North America and
Britain.
Mohammad JavadQazvini also organizes
pilgrimages to Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
Qazvini's speeches from the pulpit,
however, differ from the mainstream Shia religious positions in Iran, at least
in the excerpts published on his Instagram page. His Instagram focuses on
topics such as "loneliness," "ways of loving," "living
together without marriage," "eating healthily in Islam and the
Quran," "having anxiety," "being patient," and
"happiness." These are subjects more relevant to the daily lives of
Western citizens and less indicative of the heavy enforcement and severe
punishments imposed on citizens under the guise of Sharia laws in Iran.
These factors likely hold the key to
Lopez's decision to follow him, a singer known for her spiritual beliefs and
free-thinking religiosity.

Iranian Activist, Narges Mansouri, in
Critical Condition amid Hunger Strike in Evin Prison
Iran International Newsroom
14 May 2024
Narges Mansouri, a 46-year-old Iranian
labor activist, is in a critical condition on the twentieth day of her combined
hunger and medication strike at Evin Prison in Tehran.
Medical reports have highlighted severe
complications including kidney damage, neurological issues, and an elevated
risk of cardiac arrest due to her ongoing strike.
A source close to Mansouri's family
disclosed to Iran International that the prison's medical staff have described
her condition as "dangerous".
The activist began her strike on April
23 to protest the neglect of her legal case and the financial demands made by
the court which threatens to seize her mother's home unless a payment of 1.5
billion rials (about $2,500) is made. She is also demanding her own release.
On April 29, the situation became
publicly known through the Instagram page of Narges Mohammadi, another
imprisoned human rights activist at Evin, who highlighted the severity of
Mansouri's condition and her ongoing strike.
Mansouri is renowned for her activism as
part of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company. She was
among 14 women who, in 2019, demanded the resignation of Ali Khamenei, leader
of the Islamic Republic. The act led to her arrest, and she was sentenced to
five years for "assembly and collusion against national security" and
an additional year for "propaganda activities against the system."
Her defiance against the strictures of
the Islamic Republic continued even after her arrest.
In recent decades, many political
prisoners have suffered from various diseases and serious injuries due to their
protest hunger strikes in prison, and some have also lost their lives.

Iranian Woman Wins Gold for Bulgaria at
Taekwondo Championships
Kimia Alizadeh, an Iranian-born
taekwondo athlete, clinched a gold medal at the 2024 European Championships in
Belgrade on Sunday, marking her first competition under the Bulgarian flag.
Competing in the women’s 62kg weight
class, Alizadeh defeated Great Britain’s Aaliyah Powell, a world youth
champion, in a closely contested final, winning 2 rounds to 1.
Recently granted Bulgarian citizenship
and having received her passport just a month ago, Alizadeh's triumph in
Belgrade carries significant weight as she is now poised to represent Bulgaria
at the forthcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
The athlete's defection was explained in
a candid social media post describing the regime's control over her life and
career, stating, "I am not a history maker, nor the flag bearer of Iran. I
am one of millions of oppressed Iranian women who have been dictated to for
years. They controlled my every move, my clothing, and even my words. They used
my medals to promote their own agenda."
Her defection is part of a broader trend
with around 30 Iranian athletes having sought asylum in other countries in
recent years in a range of sports. Factors influencing such decisions include
mandatory hijab and a policy prohibiting competition against Israeli athletes.
