TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – Iranian veteran
female powerlifter Fatemeh Nayeb-Mahdi snatched the silver medal at the Asian
Classic Powerlifting Championships underway in Malaysia.
Nayeb-Mahdi won three silver medals in
various fields including squats, chest presses, and deadlifts in the sporting
event.
Also, the Iranian female powerlifter in
the weight category of 76 kg received the silver medal with an overall of 305
kg.
Asian Classic Powerlifting Championships
is underway in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on December 10-18, 2023.

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of
former PTI chairman, has said that they seem to be sitting in some other
country and not their own.
Talking to the media outside the Adiala
Jail, Aleema said she did not see justice being done in the cipher case trial.
She said cubicles had been made in the courtroom, and she couldn’t comprehend
what fear had caused this state of affairs.
Aleema said her entire family was inside
and the courtroom was locked from outside. She said they were chased as soon as
they left their house and threatened that they would be jailed.
She said, “We have no fear, but there
can be no fair trial without the media.” She said media persons were not being
allowed to attend the trial, which must be linked to some motive.
Aleema said Imran Khan might get the
death penalty in the cipher case. She said Donald Lu’s message was sent to
Bajwa, who hired Husain Haqqani, and it was on record that he was given money.
She said, “It seems that we are not in
our country but in some another country. It is very sad to see what is
happening to us in our own country.”

Somali woman arrested for running
kindergartens illegally in Jeddah

JEDDAH — A Somali woman was arrested in
Jeddah for running kindergartens illegally in Al-Nahda and Al-Yaqout neighbourhoods.
The kindergartens were shut down and electricity supply was disconnected to the
facilities.
It was revealed in investigations that
the Somali national had violated several regulations. The police department is
completing the necessary procedures before referring the arrested woman to the
Public Prosecution.
A quartet committee, comprising
representatives of the Jeddah Education Department, police, the labour office,
and the Saudi Electricity Co. inspected the kindergartens that were operating
illegally. It was found that the woman received children in the morning and
evening shifts at the kindergartens.
Both facilities were found operating
without obtaining any regulatory licenses from the concerned authorities. The
committee monitored the illegal activity of the woman after receiving several
complaints from parents of students. It was found that the woman was accused of
committing numerous transgressions such as mistreatment, impersonation, and
non-cooperation with authorities in previous visits to the site, in addition to
her photographing members of the committee and security patrol teams. This
necessitated the formation of a team from the departments of criminal
investigation, field investigation, and security forces and the team completed
the investigations.
