Imprisoned Christian Convert, Laleh Sa'ati, in Iran Denied Medical Care in Evin Prison
Laleh
Sa'ati, a Christian convert imprisoned in Evin Prison,
-------
MAY 14, 2024
LalehSa'ati, a Christian convert
imprisoned in Evin Prison, is being denied access to specialized medical
attention despite her deteriorating neurological condition.
Sa'ati's family raised concerns about
her mental well-being after a recent visit, as they saw a significant decline
in her condition.
This follows news that the prosecutor
overseeing her case blocked a request for her temporary release for medical evaluation.
Sa'ati's arrest in February stemmed from
alleged "acting against national security through contact with Zionist
Christian organizations."
She was subsequently sentenced to two
years in prison and a travel ban in March.

Bharatanatyam Dancer Noreen Rahman
Borooah Of AssamDanced Her Way To Excel In CBSE Exam
15-05-2024
Daulat Rahman/Guwahati
Noreen Rahman Borooah, topper of Don
Bosco School, Pan Bazar, Guwahati in the CBSE’s Class 12th examination is also
a talented Bharatanatyam dancer. Noreen
who did her 'Arangetram' - a debut on-stage performance of a student of Indian
classical dance and music, just before starting the Class 12 final exam this
year, says that dancing can help you to maintain a positive approach during
your preparation and also during your exams.
Speaking to Awaz-The Voice Noreen said
that dance like Bharatanatyam helps to control anxiety level and prevent panic
setting in a student before the exam.
“For a higher level of concentration,
one may prefer to sit and prepare in isolation. After spending hours in
confinement for a higher level of attention, the student may start to feel
stressed. Dance is one of the best ways to relieve your stress instantly,”
Noreen said.
Noreen has scored aggregate marks of 97%
in the Humanities stream and become the school topper in Don Bosco School, Pan
Bazar, one of the oldest missionary schools in the North East. She has secured
99 out of 100 in English.
“I do not want to attribute only hard
work to my success. The beliefs of my parents and teachers in me have played a
pivotal role in boosting my confidence and excel in the exams. Teachers in my
school used to tell me that I was made for big things which motivated me
extremely,” Noreen, who is also interested in swimming, writing, and leadership
training activities, said.
Noreen, who will pursue Psychology as a major
subject in her graduation and post-graduation levels in one of the top bracket
institutions either in India or abroad, said that she is very much interested
in reading in peoples’ minds. She said that Psychology in broader terms is very
much an integral part of medical science and healthcare systems.
“In the present day society, mental
health has become equally important like physical health. In fact mental
well-being leads to physical well-being,” Noreen said. Her father Mustafa SazidBorooah is an
engineer and her mother Morzina Begum is in the teaching profession.
Like the previous years, Don Bosco
School has once again excelled in the CBSE exam results. In the Class 12 exam
science stream results Ayushman Ghosal and AshleshaSarma are the school toppers
with 96.80% aggregate mark. In the Commerce stream, DhruvLUnia and Shaurya Jain
scored 96.80% aggregate marks. Altogether 95 students scored more than 90%
marks and 82 scored more than 80% marks.
In the Class X exam results,
DhrubaneelBaruah is the school topper with 97.80% aggregate marks. While 72 students
scored above 90% marks, 69 students scored above 80% marks.
The Rector and Principal of Don Bosco
School Father Sebastian Matthew said that his school has always been
emphasizing to enable their students to excel in academics and other fields.
“We take a holistic approach to develop talents of students in different
fields,” Fr. Sebastian said.
