American Actress Montana Tucker Dance Video Honours Iranian Women Standing Up To Tehran Regime’s Tyranny

Today, American dancer, singer, actress, and social media influencer Montana Tucker released a poignant video honoring the fortitude of Iranian women fighting the oppression they face from the tyrannical Tehran regime.

In the video, initiated and produced by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), Tucker and members of the Israel-based Shiraz Dance Ensemble perform a dance to promote and celebrate solidarity between Iranian and Israeli women.

Interspersed throughout the video are images and information highlighting Iranian women who have stood up to the ayatollahs, often at the cost of their lives. These women include Mahsa Amini, NikaShakarami, AhooDaryaei, and Parastoo Ahmadi.

The video was filmed in Jaffa, Israel, and with the dance choreographed by Iris DelshadMaymon.

“This is dedicated to the women of Iran who stood fearlessly in the face of fanaticism and brutality to fight for their basic human rights,” Tucker said. “Iranian women must be supported in this fight. Israeli women, too, know the brutal impact of this regime and its proxies.”

Since its release on Tucker’s social media channels earlier today, the video has gone viral, drawing the attention of millions around the world to the ongoing plight of Iranian women.

Among those sharing it was Noor Pahlavi, the eldest child of former Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi and granddaughter of the late Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Pahlavi is a prominent gender equality advocate and a leading anti-regime voice.

The project was coordinated by CAM Public Affairs Officer Natalie Sanandaji, a Persian American Jewish woman who survived the Nova music festival massacre on October 7th. For Sanandaji, the initiative was deeply personal.

“Under the shadow of the Islamic regime, the women of Iran are not just battling for their rights — they are fighting for their lives,” Sanandaji said. “For too long, their voices have been silenced, and their basic liberties denied. Yet, despite the brutality they endure, they continue to resist with inspirational strength.”

“The unity between Iranian and Israeli women is a testament to the power of human solidarity,” she added. “By standing together, they show that freedom is a universal desire transcending traditional religious, cultural, and political divides.”

CAM is engaged in ongoing efforts, led by Sanandaji, to educate people across the globe about the evils of the Tehran regime, which is the largest purveyor of antisemitism today and actively seeks, through its own actions and its support for regional terror proxies, to destroy the world’s only Jewish state.

Over the past year, CAM has organized a series of webinars and other programming and campaigns to expose the Iranian government’s horrific human rights violations, amplify the voices of Iranian women around the world, and mobilize the international community to stand with the Iranian people against their dictatorial leadership.

Particularly in the aftermath of October 7th, the genocidal threat posed by the Iranian regime to its own citizens, the Jewish people, and humanity as a whole can no longer be ignored.

This is the third dance video Tucker has created with CAM. Last year, Tucker released “I’m a Survivor” — honoring the Israeli hostages remaining in Hamas captivity in Gaza — and “We Can Dance Again,” dedicated to the memory of the 364 young men and women murdered at the Nova music festival. The videos garnered tens of million of views across various social media platforms.

Italian Journalist Cecilia Sala, Held in Tehran's Notorious Evin Prison, Returns Home

January 08, 2025

Cecilia Sala (L) was welcomed home to Rome by Italy's prime minister who took personal charge of her case

--------------

An Italian journalist has returned to Rome after spending weeks in an Iranian jail.

Cecilia Sala, 29, was arrested on 19 December, three days after an Iranian engineer was detained by Italian authorities in Milan on suspicion of supplying drone technology that led to the deaths of US soldiers.

Reports said she had been held in solitary confinement in Tehran's notorious Evin prison.

She was greeted by her partner as she left the plane at Rome's Ciampino airport before being welcomed home by Prime Minister GiorgiaMeloni, who is understood to have taken personal charge of her case.

A well known podcaster, Cecilia Sala's detention in prison in Tehran outraged Italians and has dominated headlines since her employer, Chora Media, broke the news of her arrest on 27 December.

It posted a picture of Sala arriving on Wednesday afternoon.

Iran said initially it had detained Sala for "violation of the Islamic Republic's laws", however US state department officials said it could be linked to the arrest of Iranian national Mohammad Abedini at Malpensa airport in Milan on 16 December.

He was arrested on a US warrant and one official told Italian media that Sala was being used as "political leverage".

It is unclear what led to Iran freeing her, however the news was broken in a statement from Prime Minister GiorgiaMeloni who cited "intense work through diplomatic and intelligence channels".

Meloni met US president-elect Donald Trump at the weekend, when the journalist's detention is thought to have been discussed.

Outgoing president Joe Biden is due to visit Rome later this week.

Meloni thanked "all those who contributed to to making Cecilia's return possible".

Sala's partner, fellow journalist Daniele Raineri, told Ansa news agency: "I spoke to her and she told me 'I'll see you soon', she was emotional and overjoyed."

Mohammad Abedini is due to go before a court in Milan on 15 January, and Tehran has in recent days played down any connection between the two cases.

The head of Italy's foreign intelligence service, Giovanni Caravelli, is said to have travelled to Tehran personally to bring Sala back to Italy.

Her father Renato Sala told Ansa he was proud of her and praised the government for an "exceptional job".

He said he had had the impression that the situation had turned into a "game of chess, but with more than two players".

Renato Sala also thanked Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, pointing out they had lived near each other for 12 years and had become friends.

08-01-2025

Country: India

In the icy chill of a Minnesota winter, Muslim women find warmth and camaraderie through the Amanah Rec Project, embracing outdoor activities and fostering a sense of community. Founded by Nasrieen Habib, the group encourages Muslim women to explore the great outdoors while maintaining cultural and religious values.

Ruqayah Nasser, a recent Midwest transplant, joins the group to find acceptance and shared experiences. The group, which started with a social media post, now has over 700 members, offering support and empowerment to those who once felt marginalized in outdoor spaces.

Nawal Hirsi and her sister RuunMahamud, originally from Somalia, are among those who have discovered a welcoming environment in Minnesota. They emphasize the importance of integrating physical activities into their children's upbringing, affirming that taking care of one's health is intrinsic to their faith.

EGA hired more than 110 UAE National women in 2024

January 9, 2025

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, today announced that the company hired 113 UAE National women in 2024, more than half the 220 Emiratis recruited by EGA during the year.

EGA aims that women hold 25 per cent of supervisory roles by the end of this year, and 15 per cent of all roles by the end of 2026. Currently, women hold 23.3 per cent of supervisory roles and 9.6 per cent of all roles at the company.

At the end of 2024, EGA’s in-focus Emiratisation rate was 44.3 per cent. On a like-for-like basis, EGA has one of the highest Emiratisation rates of any major company considering the high number of industrial positions.

EGA now aims to accelerate in-focus Emiratisation to reach 50 per cent by the end of 2027. This means EGA expects to hire up to 600 UAE Nationals over the period.

Some 144 of the 2024 recruits, including 65 of the women, joined EGA’s National Training programmes which prepare high school leavers for technical and administrative positions in the company’s industrial facilities and administration.

The majority of university graduates who joined EGA’s longstanding Graduate Training programme in 2024 were women. Graduate trainees complete 18 or 24 months of training for supervisory positions in corporate functions or in industrial operations. For graduate trainees in operations, this includes periods of working shifts in front-line operational roles they will supervise, such as tending reduction cells.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, said: “More than 71 per cent of our 2024 UAE National recruits joined roles in EGA’s operations, driving forward our vision for excellence and our contribution to achieve the goals of UAE's industrial strategy Operation 300bn. Our unwavering commitment to Emiratisation enables us to capitalise on exceptional UAE National talent to maximise our growth and the economic development of our nation. Our ambitious Emiratisation goals reflect our role as a leader in national talent development and innovation. We have exceeded our in-focus Emiratisation goals for 2024 and are now aiming to reach 50 per cent in-focus Emiratisation rate by 2027.”

In 2024, EGA participated in 14 national career events. This includes major fairs and EGA’s own recruitment drives, such as those conducted with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Department of Government Enablement, HR Departments of RAK Government and Fujairah Government.

More than 1,300 UAE Nationals work at EGA, with over half under the age of 35.

Saudi Arabian women break into the Rally-Dakar world

09/01/25

In parallel to the Rally-Dakar 2025 competition, which is being held for the sixth consecutive year in Saudi Arabia, the Arab giant has organised for the first time a training programme for promising young Saudi sportsmen and women called ‘Saudi Next Gen’, in which women such as MerryhanAlbaz, an influencer, sports enthusiast and the first female mechanic in the world of motorsport, also took part.

Five pairs of drivers took part in this first edition: four male and one female. The young participants, chosen by the Saudi Automobile Federation, will enjoy a coaching session and will fight for a place in next year's Dakar Rally, which will also be held in Saudi Arabia.

The female tandem consists of Jordan's Nancy Al-Majali as assistant and MerryhanAlbaz as driver. However, the female stars who stood out the most in this type of training held in other countries in previous years were Lucie Baud and Dania Akeel.

The former was crowned three-time winner of the French Co-drivers' Championship in 2019, 2022 and 2023 and runner-up in 2021; she also managed to finish the Dakar 2024. And Dania Akeel managed to become the first woman to obtain a licence to participate in motorbike racing in Saudi Arabia and the first woman in the world to win the Baja Desert Rally World Cup title in the ‘T3’ category in 2021.

Beyond global visibility, Riyadh is seeking to leverage sport to diversify an economy that has hitherto been dependent on oil, while promoting sporting activity among the local population.

Saudi Arabia invests $2 billion annually in the sports sector and has adopted a different model than Qatar or the United Arab Emirates: instead of nationalising athletes, Saudi Arabia is training and educating its own athletes.

Unlike other sports such as football or basketball, in the world of motorsport, physique is less of a differentiating factor. While the forces that the human body must withstand are extremely high, they can be mitigated by better tuning the mechanics of the vehicles.

In the Dakar bivouac, a workspace located between the stage finish and start time controls, the five two-man teams (driver and passenger), coached by the Italian, Edo Mossi, had an experience that, until then, had only been enjoyed by men.

‘It was always said that the Dakar was a man's sport, that it was dangerous,’ says MerryhanAlbaz. ‘Here, on weekends, people go out in their 4x4s, drive through the desert and go for a picnic, that is their natural habitat. So, to see local people competing at an elevated level is a nice story,’ celebrates Edo Mossi, coach of the future youngsters of Saudi sport.

The test the youngsters underwent consisted of a 26-kilometre route through extremely rocky terrain. The five SSVs (a buggy-like vehicle, somewhere between a quad bike and a car) left the starting point at three-minute intervals.

In addition, the participants were taught how to prepare the vehicle; the correct way to communicate with each participant's mechanical assistant; and how to deal with problems that can arise in one of the toughest events in the world of motorsport.

‘A man can make any mistake, no one will tell him anything. But for a woman, any little thing will be used against her. So, you must have courage both emotionally and physically,’ says MerryhanAlbaz after her return from the race.
