Pakistan Watched Destruction Of Terror Camps Helplessly

Two weeks after Pahalgam massacre by the TRF, a Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate, India conducted surgical strikes across Pakistan on the night of 6-7 May, 2025 and destroyed 9 terror camps and terror launch pads in Pakistan's Punjab province and in Pak-occupied Kashmir. Col. Sofia Quraishi of Indian army briefed the media and gave details of the terror camps that were targeted. The targets were as follows:
1.Sawai Nala camp in Muzaffarabad, 30 kilometres from LoC. This camp was a training centre of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The planning and training for terrorist attacks in Sonmarg on 20 October, 2024, in Gulmarg on 24 October, 2024 and in Pahalgam on 22 April,2025 was conducted in this camp.
2. Syedna Bilal camp, Muzaffarabad was a training centre for Jaish-e-Muhammad. Training for Arms and explosives and jungle survival was provided in this camp.
3. Phoolpur camp, Kotli. It was 30 kilometre from the LoC and was a base of LeT. It was active in Rajouri and Poonch. Training for terrorist attacks in Poonch on 20 April and attacks on bus of pilgrims on 9 June was given in this camp.
4. Barnala camp. It was 9 kilometres from the LoC. It was a centre for training in arms, IED and jungle survival.
5. Abbas camp, Kotli. It was 13 kilometres from the LoC. Suicide squads of LeT were prepared here. It had a capacity to train 15 suicide terrorists.
6.Sarjal camp, Sialkot. Terrorists who had killed 4 police jawans of J&K in March 2025 were trained in Sarjal camp.
7.Mehmoona Joya camp, Sialkot. It was 12-18 kilometre from border. This was a training camp of Hizbul Mujahideen. This camp was constantly used to carry out terrorist activities in Kathua in Jammu. Pathankot airbase attacked was planned and executed from here.
8. Lashkar-e-Taiba, Muridke. It was located at 18-25 kilometre from the border. The 2008 Mumbai terror attacks were planned and executed from this camp. Ajmal Qasab and David Coleman Headly were trained here.
9.Markaz Subhan Allāh, Bahawalpur. It was located at 100 kilometres from the border. It was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad
It was a training, recruitment and indoctrination centre. Hardcore terrorists visited this centre.

However, despite all the facts and figures of the targets and their details, the Pak army and the Pakistan government denied that there were any terrorist camps and terrorists in Pakistan and PoK. Masood Azhar, the terrorist who had been freed after the Qandahar plane hijack was present in Pakistan at the time of the Operation Sindoor and reportedly 14 members and servants of his family were killed in the operation. Masood Azhar has reportedly survived the attacks. Masood, Azhar's Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur and Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad were destroyed.
The Lashkar -e-Taiba headquarters in Muridke is run and maintained by the Pakistan government and Hafiz Sayeed, the head of LeT is a most wanted terrorist in India who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Still, Pakistan government have been denying their involvement in terror strikes conducted by it in India.
According to the Indian army briefing, the Operation was conducted from 1.05 am to 1.30 am on 7 May and 9 terrorist recruitment centres, indoctrination centres and training camps were destroyed and no army bases and installations were attacked. Prior to the operation, India had taken the US, the UK, the UAE and Saudi Arabia into confidence. After the operation was successfully completed, the defence minister of Pakistan said to Bloomberg that if India does not conduct more strikes, Pakistan will not escalate the situation. India has also made it clear that it does not want war but if Pakistan escalates the situation, it is ready for any eventuality.
Pak amy chief Asim Munir knew that India will strike soon and he may be the target. Therefore, he had gone into hiding a week before the Indian operation.
Soon after the operation was over, the Pak government lifted the ban from the social media when it realised that the ban that was imposed to prevent Imran Khan's supporters from expressing their views and highlighting the atrocities of the Pak army was proving disadvantageous to itself as it could not circulate propaganda material and fake news about Pakistan's 'victory' over India in this war. After the ban was lifted, the senior journalist of Pakistan Hamid Mir posed an old video showing an Indian fighter jet being downed by Pakistan army. The lie was exposed soon and Hamid Mir 's act was condemned even by Pakistani journalists. The TV news channels claimed that India had conceded defeat before Pakistan after Pakistan's 'Dandaan Shikan Jawab ' (hard blow by Pakistan). Another channel claimed that Pakistan proved its superiority over India in the war. But the reality was that Pakistan's defence minister Khwaja Asif conveyed his subtle message to India that India should not deal further blows to Pakistan and hat they do not want any escalation.
While India was destroying camps after camps in Pakistan and PoK, Pak army was firing on civilians in India on the border areas killing at least 5 civilians and injuring 35 persons. This was to give the world the impression that Pakistan put up a good fight with India. The reality was that Pakistan could not retaliate to India's strikes for the fear of escalation and watched its terror training camps being destroyed helplessly.
Now that the operation is over and Pakistan has been given a clear message, it should learn a lesson and abandon its policy of harbouring and training terrorists on its soil.
