Islam and the West (06 Dec 2016 NewAgeIslam.Com)

  • Hats Off says, "nothing (nothing) ever went away by everyone ignoring it."

Christianity, Judaism and Hinduism all reformed themselves without mocking confrontations. All they did was to expand on the positives and ignore the objectionable parts of their scriptures. All that you are doing is venting your hate. It may make you feel good but it does nothing else.

  • nothing (nothing) ever went away by everyone ignoring it.

passing of time softens slavery. it blunts the edges of a date rape. it even legitimizes bloody conquests. after a thousand years nirbhaya is just another unfortunate woman. holocaust is just another paragraph in history.

why bother at all? we could always go back to sleep.

if time is a great healer, maybe we could get rid of courts and due process.

    we should try it once.

  • "closure is essential for reconciliation of some sort."

You do not bring about closure by endless confrontations which usually have an opposite effect. Ignoring, benign positive assertions and passage of time are more promising.

  • by all means. such questions are essential.

unless and until such questions are asked all round, there is going to be no closure. closure is essential for reconciliation of some sort.

you can ask why the so called ahimsa guys are slaughtering rohingyas. you can ask why caste hindus are preventing dalits from entering their temples. you can ask such questions of all religions.

all religions have their own set of victims.

judaism has its goyim. hinduism has its shudras and mlechhas. vedic religion has its dasyus and the anaryas. christianity has its pagans. islam its kaffir.

  • "does the koran ask us to love idol worshipers?"

The same question can be asked about the Old Testament! When one is looking for stink, one would find it!

  • does the koran ask us to love idol worshipers? or the polytheists? or the jews? or the christians? the fire worshipers?

if it did, why did the prophet write a threat letter to khusro?
