Al-Qaida’s Tape Announcing Formation of Qaiadat ul Jihad in South Asia is An Attempt to Divert Attention from Saudi Proposal to Demolish Prophet’s Tomb, Says Sufi leader Ashraf Kichhowchhawi

Aiman Al Zawahiri of Al Qaeda announcing formation of Qaiadat ul Jihad (Jihad leadership) in South Asia with a Pakistani terrorist being its leader is a dangerous culmination of terror activities perpetrated at the behest of Saudi Arabia as well as Qatar. With their massive oil and gas money in India, they seek to create an infrastructure to support their future destructive agenda in this secular, pluralistic and purely democratic country. Going by an in-depth analysis, the recent al-Qaida tape is aimed at diverting attention of the Indian Muslims from the media reports that have exposed a Saudi monarchy conspiracy to remove or demolish the tomb of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) from its present place in Masjid al-Nabwi, situated in Madina, one of the two holy cities of Islam.  The report about the impending tomb demolition was contradicted in feeble voice from an unnamed Saudi Officer through a news portal Al Arabia. Net, while the Saudi monarchy maintained a stony silence. Clearly, the Saudi regime contradicted it because it is a matter of grave concerns for anyone who professes Islam and takes pride in its cultural heritage.

All India Ulema & Mashaikh Board (AIUMB), an apex body of Sufi-oriented Sunni Muslims in India has vehemently condemned the Saudi monarchy’s proposal to remove or demolish the revered tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), a nefarious design which has sparked discord across the Muslim world creating sensation in the global media. By risking Islam’s second-holiest and most venerated site, the ruling family of the Saudi kingdom has offended the sentiments of the mainstream Muslims in an attempt to give them a serious setback, said the president and founder of the AIUMB, Maulana Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kachauchawi. On Saudi kingdom’s denial of the media reports, he said that the kingdom is trying to play a healing game and thus exposing the anti Islamic mentality of its monarchy. It is worth mentioning that the Saudi government, on Wednesday, denied media reports a day before which has exposed the Saudi plan to remove the holy tomb of the Prophet under the garb of extension of Masjid al-Nabawi (the Prophet’s mosque).

AIUMB’s president Maulana Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kichhowchhawi, presently on a visit to Bangladesh, said in his statement issued from the central office of AIUMB in New Delhi, that the mischievous intentions of the Saudi monarchy have been doing a lot of harm to the historic heritage of Islam vandalising almost all the major Islamic cultural monuments in Saudi Arabia. They have mercilessly destroyed the tombs and monuments of the family and companions of Prophet Muhammad. Thus, he said, the Saudi monarchy has offended the religious sentiments of the entire Muslim world. The obnoxious proposal to remove the Prophet’s tomb is another attempt to inflict mental and spiritual torture on the Muslims the world over.

Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kichhowchhawi explained that both Mecca and Medina, the two holiest mosques of Islam, are centre of reverence for all Muslims of the world and, therefore, any attempt to remove or demolish any of them or any other monuments related to the Prophet and his family and friends will hurt the Muslims scattered over the world. He further said that the Saudi monarchy, emboldened by the massive oil wealth, has been perpetrating all the illegal acts which go completely against Islam. He said that this boldness should be condemned in all strong terms. He continued: “the Saudi government is committing a heinous crime against faith of Muslims by embarking upon cultural genocide both in Saudi Arabia by its own political power and in a number of foreign Muslim countries by the mercenaries”.

Talking on the AIUMB’s huge campaigns to resist the Saudi dance of cultural destruction, Maulana said that the organisation is sized with these developments since last decades and has launched a mass movement against the Saudi conspiracy to demolish all the monuments of Islam in Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations including Tunisia, Libya, Mali, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, to name a few. It is noteworthy that the AIUMB  took out a demonstration, on January 15, 2013 at Jantar Mantar New Delhi, against the  very proposal of the Saudi Kingdom to demolish the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) highly revered all over the world .

In a memorandum to the central government of India and to the Saudi ambassador in India, AIUMB warned that the Indian Muslims will not put up with any action that hurls disregard upon the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Expressing grave concern over the matter, Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kichhowchhawi said: “Regrettably, the then union government failed to appreciate the severity of the problem and the then minster of external affairs Salman Khursheed sent a rejoinder to the board declaring that Indian government cannot interfere in the internal matters of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia”. “While it is common knowledge that both the holy cities of Islam are not considered property of any dynasty, but rather they are centre of reverence for anyone who claims to be a faithful”, Syed Muhammad Ashraf averred.

He further said that the present union government must convey to the Saudi government that Indian Muslims are very much restless after the publication of the sad news, because it is not new to them. “Indian Muslims caught up with the news earlier through posts and sites in public domain that a secret report of the Saudi government had identified the tomb of the Prophet (pbuh) as the biggest idol of the world”, he said.

Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kichhowchhawi commented that “identifying a structure as an idol carries the conviction of demolishing it and this is why Saudi rulers are exposed as the biggest anti-Islamic tribe in the world”. Maulana also said that “Taliban, al Qaida, ISIS, Boko-Haram and all other organizations working under different names in different places are regularly bombing and bulldozing Islamic monuments, tombs mosques, Imam Bargahs and other spiritual centres in almost all Muslim countries”. “And the worst form of cultural genocide has been exposed as an evil intention to remove or demolish the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)”, he said.

The AIUMB warned that if Saudi monarchy does anything mischievous against the tomb of the Prophet, it will be too difficult to control the display of anger by the Indian Muslims who have exercised utmost control and patience so far.
