According to the Islamic State of Iraq and
the Levant (ISIL), President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is an enemy and so is the
main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kiliçdaroglu.
For them, leftists are not Muslims, neither
are right wing supporters. The conservatives are not Muslim, so are the secular
ones... The Alevis are no good, neither are the Sunnis ... The Turks are a
target, so are the Kurds. Mehmet Görmez, the head of the Directorate of
Religious Affairs (Diyanet), is an apostate, and, for instance, I am as well.
Since ISIL is not differentiating between
us, then why should we divide and fragmentize ourselves against ISIL?
Year’s In The Islamic World
Our closest friend Qatar celebrated the New
Year’s with enthusiasm, fireworks and all. In Morocco, in ceremonies organized
to greet New Year’s Day, no expense was spared. In Dubai, excitement was at its
peak. Everywhere was illuminated in red. In Egypt, fireworks were set off and
Al-Azhar did not say anything, nor protest the celebrations.
The nationalist group Alperen Hearths,
those who think they have achieved something by holding a man dressed as Santa
Claus at gunpoint to pose for a photo, why have they not even moved a finger
against the dogs of hell, ISIL?
Those who fervently argue that Muslims do
not celebrate Christmas, why don’t they, at least once, whisper that “Muslims
do not commit murders; Muslims do not carry out massacres”?
Why, maybe after one Friday prayer, a
demonstration is not being organized to protest these ISIL barbarians, who have
shattered the honor of Islam?
Why doesn’t the entire country, together
with its right wing, leftist, Atatürk supporter, nationalist, Islamist and all
other segments, stand shoulder-to-shoulder against ISIL?
Old Statements After Each Attack
“Terror does not have a religion. All the
possibilities are reviewed. We will never surrender to terror. No country is
safe. Nobody should test Turkey’s patience,” these are the same old statements
we hear after each attack.
Should Learn To Say ‘None Of Your Business’
Mind your own business if you think
celebrating New Year’s is not OK, if you consider this is against your beliefs,
if you are against the celebrations. Well, then, just don’t celebrate it and
that’s it. What is it with interfering in people’s celebrations? Mind your own
business. What is it to you?
As if I have nothing else to do, should I
explain to you what the difference between New Year’s and Christmas is? If I
feel like it, I will celebrate the beginning of the New Year, if I am in the
mood for it, I will celebrate Christmas and if I wish to I would not celebrate
any of them. What is it to you?
Someone To Resign
It is impossible to say out loud that “the
government should resign.” It is impossible to say out loud that the “cabinet
minister should resign.”
You cannot say the director should resign
And finally a way out has been found in
this cycle of non-resignation.
After the last massacre, we are all asking
for the owner of Reina, Mehmet Koçarslan, to resign.
Oh, the indescribable taste of happiness to
finally find someone to ask to resign...
